  • The 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback is an affordable, entry-level car with a host of available options. From a large color touchscreen to hill assist to full-power windows & locks (it's a subcompact entry level car, remember!) there's more than enough to impress even the stiffest of critics. This video was done in partnernship with Platinum Mitsubishi in Mechanicsburg, PA - visit them at MitsubishiPA.com!

    I have a 2020 Mirage. I listened to all the bad reviews, but it was all I could afford at the time, so I bought it new. I've had it almost two years now, 17,000 miles. It may not have much power, but the gas mileage means I can smile at high gas prices, and there has been zero maintenance so far except oil changes. After two years, I'm glad I bought it. Very economical.

    I get 47 MPGs all day long on the interstate. I have gotten as high as 51. With the exception of a rather flat first gear, it has everything that you need. I look forward to many, many years of use from this little puddle jumper.

    I almost bought it. Chose a 4.5 yr old low mileage Scion.. Woah! 72 months is waaay too long a loan term. You end up paying 15 grand or more? These cars are discounted to 10 grand all the time. 15 grand can get you into some much nicer cars. PLUS $2500! Down? That makes it 17 grand !?!?! Get the car for 10,000 dollars, and pay it off in 3 years for lower payments, nothing down. It should not be that expensive. 11 grand OTD, TOPS.

    First, I LOVE tiny, cheap cars. I test drove the Mirage. It was literally the most miserable new car I have ever driven. Period. Horrible handling, horrible chassis dynamics, horrible engine. I test drove the Chevrolet Spark and it was significantly better in every way. The Spark feels like a larger, more expensive car than its price point suggests. One of the biggest differences was that it handled significantly better than the Mirage. The Spark is also faster, rides better, has much, much better build quality, and it’s fun to drive. Here’s the kicker - the Spark has a MONUMENTALLY better crash rating, cheaper insurance, and lower parts cost. I bought the Spark brand new for $10,100 OTD.
    Run from the Miserable Mirage...straight to the Chevrolet dealership.

      I’ve owned my 2017 Spark for 3 years now. I would but it again. Above all - super fun little car to drive. It reminds me of my ‘80’s Honda Civic hatchbacks. I have the 5-speed manual transmission. The shifting is Honda-good. 40,000 miles on the odometer and not a single issue. Great handling, solid chassis dynamics, and better-than-it needs-to-be build quality.
      I can’t fathom why anyone would buy a Mirage over a Spark. The Mitsubishi was nasty to drive. The Spark is a carnival ride :)

    • @kylemas2005
      @kylemas2005 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Mirage has better mpg, way more cargo volume room, better rear passenger legroom, much better track record with JATCO CVT7 reliability, much easier to work, way longer warranty, hell you can drive a Mirage for Uber but not a Spark. I will give you Mitsu parts being more expensive and GM having a bigger dealership network however. The Spark is better looking too, exterior and interior IMO. However when I test drove the Spark, the cabin was extremely cramped and the seats were a lot less comfortable than my 2 Mirages. It's all subjective in the end. I'm glad you enjoy your GM Daewoo Spark and I'll enjoy my Mitsubishi Mirages.

      @@kylemas2005 I remember you brother lol...we've debated before about Spark vs. Mirage. I love your passion for the Mirage. I know I'm hard on the car but for good reason. If enough people complain about the Mirage's list of shortcomings, maybe Mitsubishi will step up their game on the eventual redesign and give us a truly great little car. With only the Spark and Mirage still standing in this segment, Mitsu could really own the space with a proper redesign. I really want to love the Mirage and I'm hopeful that the redesign will give me a legit reason to trade in my Spark when the time comes.

      I also need to be able to fit a lot of cargo in my Mirage. I couldn't get the new Spark back bench to fold down all the way with my 6ft frame in the drivers seat unfortunately. Now I was impressed with the soft clutch and nice throws of the manual Spark. I also compared OEM parts prices between both manufacturers and GM was MUCH cheaper! Some Mitsu parts are insanely expensive! $700 radiators and $300 rear drums! Good thing aftermarket parts are finally opening up. Merry Cri'mas!
