No your 100% correct we believe it will fail too. We was allowed to turn some lead into the channel. But the welt had to be cut short as their wasn’t enough room apparently for the welt and glass. We had to write a letter to the builder to cover ourselves as we were only doing what the builder had instructed.
You always manage to rise to the occasion and solve the problems with excellent workmanship. Well done Stu. It's a pleasure to watch and see your work.
Lovely job. But you started out telling us you couldn't turn the lead down in the Channel because the glass wouldn't fit. Then turned all the lead down in the channel. Did they change their mind. Very interesting to see how you do the front drip. I have done a lot of lead work. And watched others doing more. Fascinating to learn the tips and tricks from a professional. I was merely an amateur.
Thank you. I wondering if anyone would pick up on that lol😂. Yes when I started the job the builder said he didn’t want the lead turned down into the channel as the glass wouldn’t fit. I later had another chat with him and we agreed I could turn the lead down as long as the welt doesn’t go in. I’m glad I managed to show how I turn the front drip edge down. I’ve had people asking to see this.
Thank you so much I’m glad you’ve picked up a few tricks. Thanks for supporting me watching the vids and leaving a comment. It really helps the channel.
Really good job. Especially getting over the issues. I see you managed to roll the lead into the channel in the end but not the welts. But then at the far ends you snuck those gusseted ends in. No issues with the glass?
Thank you. Yes I had another chat with the site agent and he agreed there would be enough room to do that. As far as I know there was no issues with the glass. It was around this time last year so must all be good.

@@slbleadworks I know the struggle.. The ply makes life so much easier and the lead picks up any imperfections from the surface it’s laid on. So bricks really wouldn’t be the nicest finish. We do lay straight onto stone sometimes. And it’s very important to use builder paper.

It’s just a regular 25mm copper annular ring shank nail.

I’ve never tried it to be honest. But I would say no as I think you wouldn’t have enough control over the area your trying to weld
