      It has to be Czech goulash with klednik. Of course it's the only one I've tried lol I worked with a lot of czech people in Florida doing construction on condos and they'd always make extra for me when they had it. Mmmm!

    Guláš and paprikáš are actually originally an import from Hungary ;)

    • @CzechingWithKatrina
      @CzechingWithKatrina  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well everything traditionally American was originally imported from somewhere so simply because it may have originated from elsewhere, doesn’t make it any less of a Czech tradition now. 😊

      @@CzechingWithKatrina It's just a funfact, no offense :-D

      @@vladp7405 oh, I wasn’t offended. I was replying in a fun way as well, pointing out that as an American, nothing is truly original. 😉

      😂😂 actually....
      Before we had something called austria Hungarian empire. It was a whole kingdom with Hungary, austria, czech, Slovakia in it.
      Hungary has their GOULASH SOUP. The czech and austrian made their own version of this and made a STEW and served with dumplings!
      GOULASH soup originated from Hungary but czech/Slovakia and Auatria made their own version, A STEW

    Posílám křenový pozdrav z Malína, který je částí Kutné Hory. Pěstoval se zde světově proslulý malínský křen. Místní nadšenci obnovují jeho tradici.

    yes, kuře na paprice is my favorite too and variets of guláš and I prefer rice to guláš, pork-beef-vegetable. and in summer potatoghoolash with fresh paprika-kapie, potatoes and "špekáčky" :-)

    • @CzechingWithKatrina
      @CzechingWithKatrina  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer just rye bread with my guláš or potato dumplings. As for"špekáčky", is that like utopence?

    • @helcahorakova9209
      @helcahorakova9209 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CzechingWithKatrina Utopence are processed špekáčky, whole or cut pieces of špekáčky are pickled with spice and vegetable in vinegar brine.
      špekáčky as sausage are used not only for grilling. when we cook soups like "bramboračka", "gulášovka" so we use špekáčky cubes light roasted at the top when serving - this is not only soup, its all dish :-)

    Hmmm very, very similar to Romanian cooking. How come you're living in the Czechoslovakia? aka cr : ) We say Ciao in Romania too, I guess it's said throughout Europe, many countries. Of course it's orig. in Italian.

    • @CzechingWithKatrina
      @CzechingWithKatrina  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve never been to Romania but I plan to go some day. My husband is Czech and we are living here by his parents right now. The primary reason we are here is the share the gospel with others, but that’s our primary reason to live anywhere. 😊
