🥹 We were children, carefree and they were all alive, I won’t forget the great emotions that the Commodore 64 gave us, The afternoons after school 🥹 Thanks Rob Hubbard for this Fantastic music. 80’s for the win!
This tune takes me to a special place. I remember shooting letters to interrupt the melody allowing me to add my one little touch to the song. Rob created a masterpiece.

I liked to Interrupt the Main melody by fireing to the letters so I created my own remix. Loved how the baseline keeps running while firering . This is the best tune ever in a C64 Game and in Games History a pure Legend ‼️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
"One more kill, and I will get an extra life... AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! I JUST LOST MY LAST LIFE!! Oh, well. I might as well enjoy the high score music." I still get a little emotional sometimes.
Ah, so peaceful... I've never played (or even heard of, for that matter) this game, but this song is still very wonderful and seems so very peaceful in a way that non-chiptunes will never be able to be.
These days, if somebody released a CD with this music, as well as the music from the actual gameplay itself, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it and play the hell outta it!!
If this was transcribed to be played as "regular" pop-rock song, it would be a hit, without a doubt. I liked this one even better than the opening/game music. So I was eager to get to this screen :)
I remember hearing this in the 1993 DOS game Jelly Bean Factory (which looked similar to Puyo Puyo/Kirby's Avalanche/Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine) when your game ended.
The Framerate of NTSC (NA) is 29.97 FPS, PAL is 25. The framerate was used as the programs "Clock" to tell time. So speeding/slowing the frames would alter the whole game.

Funny. I thought the same thing the other day.
Only if you get some little short guy to duck down below and shoot at name plates in the air above your casket. LOL
Best game music ever, let alone SID. Like if you played this game in 1985.
yep!! my childhood right here!! the music in commando was so good!!
I can't like i played this in 86
1987 in Argentina

LOL. I did that as well... glad to know I'm not the only one :-) Great times were being a kid int the 80s with a C64.
Used to play this game just to hear this song. Hubbard in my heart.
why does this sound so emotional
Because it is

Que recuerdos!!! Estoy al borde de las lágrimas, era mi juego favorito, que felicidad fue niñez
So beautiful tune... ahhh those glory c64 days....
The game was good but the highscore table tune was the main reason i played it. One of the best...
So simple yet so brilliant, Rob is a God.
Wow this is just beautiful. I've never played that game, but this song makes me melancholic nonetheless.. That's just crazy :')
Yep, and the Monty high score tune by the same author is more of that feeling th-cam.com/video/V36xx7vgmIs/w-d-xo.html

Chuck Norris even bows down to Rob Hubbard!
If i will die some day, this music will be my last tune on my funeral ceremony.
That's exactly what I thought....
I like your use of "If" : ¬ )

One of the Best tune and game c64..... 🤖

reminds me a bit of "Laura's theme" from Twin Peaks
I used to wish this could play as the in-game music.
0:24 Portal 2 ending
Holy shit - that's what I was thinking of. I thought this song sounded familiar...
Vote up.
I knew I recognized this from somewhere!
Martin Galway's "game over" looped music for "Rambo" on the C64 was also very apt-sounding - just like this is for Commando
I remember hearing this in the 1993 DOS game Jelly Bean Factory (which looked similar to Puyo Puyo/Kirby's Avalanche/Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine) when your game ended.
Temazo viejo!
Ever see the chipophone video? he plays this for a bit its pretty cool!
memories
Epic.
thanks, I was looking for it.
This sounds like it was a song connected with the Portal games. Or at least one of them was inspired off of this.
The ending song to portal 2 th-cam.com/video/tL_TFXbSnLY/w-d-xo.html
Such an amazing Tune. After I put my Name in on the Hi Score Table, you gotta delay hitting that Enter Key.
there are a lot more good ones; the gianna sisters hiscore tune, or the ghosts n goblins one...i think 1942 had a good one too..
Press F for respect.
Very big 5 Stars
This battle game music is not supposed to make you cry.

Press space bar for grenades and wipe out the enemy forces!
Edit - think it was the Rambo hi-score list theme, as opposed to the "Game Over" jingle
is it just me who on seeing this just became aware that CAPCOM stands for Capsule Computers.
thats how i came here :)
same here
Thx ROB ❤🖐️🇵🇱👍
speed it up to 1.25
Sounds good but it doesn't give that melancholic effect anymore. ^^
Something about different video refresh rates changing the speed of song for PAL vs NTSC gamers back in that day.
The Framerate of NTSC (NA) is 29.97 FPS, PAL is 25. The framerate was used as the programs "Clock" to tell time. So speeding/slowing the frames would alter the whole game.
+HeeZoW it's why IMHO it's better

it is mozart ? he, c64 !!!!!
A few notes may have borrowed from Gordon Lightfoot.
So the Iridion 3D HiScore music is a tribute to this...
Della serie quando si è un talento....... cosa si può fare con un semplice sintetizzatore a 3 canali
Sounds similar to a certain Mass Effect 1 song.
which one?
