  • Today I START BUILDING MY NEW LEGO CITY! The tables easily consumed ALL of my modules! That includes downtown, residential, mountains, zoo, campground, medieval, winter village, amusement park, and much more! There is still so much room open for the taking... it is wild! In this video, I move all the LEGO off the ground and onto the tables and start constructing the new city layout!

    It was hard to judge the scale of the tables while you were building them, but seeing you walking around them with the camera stationary on the other side of the room really emphasizes how big they are. Can't wait to see what you do with this massive new layout going forward.

    If you put the mansion on its own island, you could have a second island with a huge pirate fortress and place pirate ships in the water around it. Or build a commercial dock on its own island and connect it to the mainland with a suspension bridge. So many possibilities and so much space! So looking forward to the future of the city!

    I love the idea of mountains in the middle that you can build on. I definitely think you need some differences in height for buildings and roads. One thing that occurred to me is that you could put mountains at the far end with back’s open so you can do underground landscapes in it - like a big cave full of plants and trees, the Goonie’s ship model, a buried Delorean from back to the future, some miners, some trains zooming through tunnels. A little cave with Golem in it, an underground scientific base, some lava for a volcano. So from above the mountains would look like a t-shape with the top of the t by the back door. Then you could put the ninjago temples and castles on the back mountains so you could see them from the balcony

    I would put the mountain at the far edge that way it does not take up a lot of space and would make an awesome backdrop when you are coming down the stairs, have some residential at the base of the mountain leading nto the downtown core you could then do some country side on one side and the other could lead up to the beach area and the space where your Lego is on the floor eventually could be where the island can be put on a table extension.

    • @TomCoates
      @TomCoates 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    Hi Bricksie.
    At last the day has arrived! We are off on a trip to Bricksie World!
    The sky's the limit now and I think you need time to look at all your buildings and the space, and build your dream your way. Everyone has his or her ideas of how it should be, but only you have the budget, sets, pieces and creativity to make it happen your way.
    All the best as you begin this journey.

    The city needs to be near residential-
    Residential near amusement park-
    Amusement park near zoo-
    Zoo near campground-
    Campground near beach.
    This will keep your buildings near, and your natural near. The zoo campground and amusement park can be one place technically with camp ground lodging. Then the campers can head to the beach! The residents to the park or to the city.

    Idea for the Mansion... On the surface this may seem like an insane amount of bricks but you are bricksie so why not throw this out there. What if you set the mansion on an elevated platform on the side of a larger hill. The mansion could overlook the city and you may even have more luck integrating it directly with the city. Because it's on the hill and set back, the scaling should look pretty good too!

    I hope you eventually have a railway network going through the different areas including the countryside, and be able to stick a GoPro or something on said train. I'd have put Downtown in the back right corner so that when you're walking down the stairs you get an unobstructed view, but I've no doubt you'll nail the layout when you conclude the final layout. The residential zone might give a nice break going from Downtown towards the countryside though. I also hope you put in the airport, space permitting. Overall it's looking amazing.

    Looking great Bricksie! I'd push the downtown core back , along with the beach which would come into the middle. Then add at least 2 base plates of ocean transitioning to deep water right up to the front. More blue at the front and a longer beach adds great colour. Add a jet ski, some boats, an oil rig, some dolphins jumping etc. Then build your new boat yard in the left front corner where the lighthouse and beach are currently. And the mountain against the back wall. The view of anything behind it would be blocked if it was in the middle and as others have said, it would make a great backdrop.

    Right corner - downtown
    Left corner - water, piers, boats

    Wedged between rail yard, residential and rail yard is amusement ✓

    Here is an idea for you. Make one small table with the mansion and helicopter pad on it and what you want. And on the other table put the amusement park and put one more helicopter and a pad. And then put a couple of helicopters and a bigger pad and put in the city!! No airport! Save some room. Just a thought😊

  • @MarcWeertsMusic
    @MarcWeertsMusic 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Absolutely fantastic start! Since there’s plenty of space, I'd suggest reserving an entire row of empty base plates as water bordering on the beach, and grass land bordering the forest. I think it would frame those spaces in a more natural way. And as a bonus, it would fill up empty spaces for now that you could very easily take back when needed later on.

  • @FunkMunker

    You should have a nice sized mountain towards the back in the middle, so that way theres like a hidden section that forces you to walk around and explore. It would look really cool to have the medieval stuff on top. Could imagine being a small figure in the city seeing that off in the distance.

  • @renegaderider08

    Ok, hear me out. Ski slope up on the mountain that can be seen from the city side. Medieval castles also up on the mountain but can be seen from a different spot. Mansion either on it's own island or it's set up on ocean front property. Soooo many possibilities!

    I think the huge table would make more sense if it were basically S-shaped, rather than having access holes in the middle, necessitating crawling under. This way, one could walk into the top or bottom two-thirds of the city, from either sides of the room.

  • @kthanna08
    @kthanna08 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Take my opinion with a grain of salt and do what YOU want. Just sharing my idea:
    I would keep the beach where it is but shift it back and give yourself some water space. And then the boatyard at the other end on the right side. Going back from the beach I would make residential and then back from the boatyard do the downtown. Back from the residential is where I’d put the campground and zoo and the amusement park back from the downtown. So then the mountain I’d put basically on that third long table and have the more fantasy-type sets behind the mountain. Like a hidden surprise. Like if you cross the mountain you go back in time to the medieval area or the Ninjago area. So basically the last table would be medieval and Ninjago.

  • @Musimotion

    I think you could move the beach back to make space for the Mansion Island so a ferry can exist, Also an idea for the snow mountain resort thing is that you could make a transition from all your existing summer land into fall and then winter in that specific area almost as a gradual gradient

    If you are going for a freight harbor, it will definitely need an associated train yard, and it would probably work as a primary yard. You could then have a secondary yard closer to the city, and additional ones near any industries which would (historically) produce cargo, such as a farming area or a mine.

    I've been waiting for this part. How exciting! I think the mansion would look good on a separate island with beach all around it. The mountain range in the middle with a waterfall and river running to the sea would look awesome. So many possibilities. Its going to be awesome.

    I recommend adding a small industrial area for the train yard and boat yard/port
    16:00 cool to see the previous city compared to the bigger new layout

    This is very exciting. With the tables basically ready, finally the city building/re-building can begin! It'll be a ton of work, but that's the fun part of LEGO!

    Push the beach back from the edge and put in more ocean to show ships sailing and the mansion island can be on/near the corner.

    Need a bigger Amusement park now. Could also have a big car park for it and a nice entrance.

    Idea for the train station. You could have a station in the middle of the city and country parts of the layout. The express train could go through the city while an older looking train goes through the county and they meet up at the middle station

    Maybe you need to extend the water area, maybe build a section of table forward to accommodate it
    Then you have room for the boats

    To be fair, I live in So Cal and our residential areas are really close to the theme parks in lots of places. Disneyland, Knotts and Universal Studios Hollywood (though less so) are all in residential areas - so it could work!

    Maybe you could make the water transitioning into a glacier, into the winter space? Your layout looka really nice

    Trainyard should go to the back in the countryside that’s common here in the uk that most out of service trains go to remote locations around the green belt of London green belt = the greenery around london

    Put the train station in the middle like a transfer station. Maybe have a few running at the same time, of course, in a manner they wouldn't collide

    I would LOVE to see the town hall be used in a square where you build a story of Back to the Future with Doc Brown setting up the device for Marty to drive the Delorean to
