I have never seen or heard a more moving, passionate and more emotional rendition or performance of that song. That is a master class in singing and story-telling. Amazing!
Her ability to sing anything is beyond compare Imo.
I never listen to other genre outside Folk, Rock and Country until I discovered Morissette in 2016. She exposed me to many other genres like this that she performed perfectly beautiful. 🏆🤩

Hi Jenna....I am also an actor. I too flew to NY to see Jessie Mueller in Waitress. Her performance was wonderful but full credit to Morissette for doing an amazing job. Morissette could easily step into the role of Jenna. Best of luck...maybe c u on the picket lines! lol

Out of all the dozens of Reactions to this one Jenna is one of the very few who @ 5:12, caught that "Squeek", (which has been called a "SKROWL"- Squeek/Growl") that is along with so many of the Gestures/ Breath's, Eye contact, etc, that to me, set this apart from

Morissette has that special ability to draw us in in all her performances. I think it's a combination of voice techniques, facial expressions, hand gestures and body movements. She is not merely singing the song, but she feels and conveys the emotions to us, a master story-teller of an artist, an all-around performer. I can see through your eyes you were drawn in, you almost got teary-eyed, because I think while you were listening to Morissette, the images of the stage play you watched are playing again on your mind as she invoked them for you. I like seeing such genuine reactions from people watching Morissette. 🥰

Katherine Mcphee and Pia Toscana where in the David foster and friends concerts in the Philippines, MORISSETTE was on a very different PLANET to the other two, MORISSETTE just ripped all six nights up, Katherine was a bit of a embarrassment with her Whitney Houston song performance, so much so that MORISSETTE did the next five nights doing the Whitney medley on her own 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.
I think Mori is awesome, but Kat McPhee is never an embarrassment. She has a gorgeous voice! Everyone has room to be talented in their own way. She actually stopped performing in the Philippines because she flew back to the US to deal with a family tragedy.

But regardless of that, Kat has a wonderful voice and putting one singer down for another isn’t kind! Morissette certainly would never do that. They’re both great in their own ways. Kindness always. 🤍

She’s a very talented singer, that I enjoy, so you don’t need to put her down. Mori doesn’t need other talented singers put down so she can be elevated. She’s fantastic and doesn’t need to be compared to others. Everyone is unique in their own way.

Since you mentioned seeing Katherine McPhee perform this on Broadway. Morissette performed in a week on concerts with David Foster and Friends in Manila back in April. She sang with Katherine on the first night doing the Bodyguard Medley but the rest of the week she sang it on her own as well as sang Never Enough each night.
