Such a great ride along the kep. Best bit of my ride from freo to the end of the Nullarbor in 2017. Way better way on a pushy into Northam than the main road as I found that stretch really busy. Thanks for the vid.
Hi Mike, good to hear fronm you again..did you make it across the Nullarbor and get to Melbourne earlier this year like you planned??? Glad you like the vid.
Great work, finally got myself motivated after a few years lay off on the mtb recently. Just a 40km out and back on a local rail trail, mate my seats a lot harder than I remember it😂
Hi coloradolxr, 40km is a great start...after the third day your bum will adopt the same shape as the seat lol. Glad you like the vid. Thanks for watching.
Trev did offer to swap for a while but I don’t think his knees would take much punishment. I’m just glad he can still enjoy cycle touring again. I’ll just have to toughen up! thanks for watching.
I know Trevors knees are wasted , but his e-bike ; price 4700 Ozzie $ for this 2020 model !! That’s a hell off a lot off money , hope it’s worth it. Great video again , thanks mate ;-))
Hi Kiwizz 21, you can’t put a price on happiness lol. Actually, it was a 40th birthday present for him but I did get a good deal on it. The cheaper models were all sold out. E bikes are walking off the selves here in Oz. Glad you like the vid. 👍
Mongrel Dog Productions Well , as long as he enjoys the bike it’s worth your investment and he can come along on your future bicycle trips. Smart thinking mate , hahaha.
Hi AC, yes, standard 500Wh battery. We (Trev and I) have done a lot of overseas touring together over the years but we later discovered that we cant move the battery on an aircraft...too big (150Wh maximum). His overseas touring days are over. Trevor has fallen in love with the bike. Thanks for watching.
@@mongreldogproductions Yes, I can see O/S can be a problem, but you could always order another battery and have it delivered to where you are staying on the other side? Given the cost of an O/S trip the battery won't add that much to the overall cost.
Armchair Commentator, tried that, it didn’t work. I recently toured Taiwan and a battery was gunna cost $800 AUD and then there was no guarantee that I could get it shipped back to Australia. I can’t afford to right off $800. Trevor will just have to get used to local touring.
Hi Steve, Great video once again, can I ask what is the name of the program that you use to do that map with the route you traveled with photos that would be much appreciated thank you.
Hi Michael Shore, glad you like the vid. The map thingy is a free App called Relive. Download it, have a play and use it to record your trips and journeys. Thanks for watching.
I think it would be doable...most of the track follows the old rail line and is usually mostly flat and level. There is some snotty single track closer to Northam but as long as you ride according to the conditions you should be ok. You are never far from the road so if you had to you could follow the road for a short distance if the track becomes unridable. Good luck.
Really nice video 👍🏼😁 missing my weekend cycling, thanks to a kind person who nicked my bike couple of weeks ago (2nd in 12 months) 😫 by the way what mapping app you used in the edit of your video out of interest? Great way to show bird eye view of the route 👏🏼
Hi Funny Bones, glad you like the vid. Like you, I’ve been the victim of bike theft as well. It sucks when it happens and you’ve taken reasonable steps to keep your gear safe. The mapping app is Relive...free to download but if you subscribe to them it has some more enhancements. I’ve not paid for the subscription (yet). Thanks for watching.

The main highways are a dangerous place to be…especially here in Australia with roads trains travelling at 100kph. Glad you enjoyed the vid.
Great to see active and full of life down under. Love from Ireland 😎☘☘☘
Hi Jim, hope you like the vid.....thanks for watching.

Great idea with the ebike and dads got lots of room in his cart for an extra battery. Don’t worry he won’t mind the extra weight he’s in great shape.

There’s a great song about O’Connor and his work on the pipeline by a WA folk band called The Settlers.

My knees are on the way out too...more on EB's in future episodes perhaps? Some tech info too would be good - did it have the standard 500Wh battery?

Cheers
Hi Jim Doolan, I’m not quire e bike ready yet...I cycle for exercise and the e bike would make me lazy. Glad you like the vid. Thanks for watching. 👍
