ASTERISM is a three-piece instrumental heavy metal band consisting of HAL-CA (Gt.), MIYU (Ba.), and MIO (Dr.).
The three met at ‘The 8th Music Revolution’ in 2014, and then formed the band. Now basing in Fukuoka, Japan, ASTERISM not only plays in many events within Japan, but also holds online concerts once a month for overseas music fans. Their live performances and concerts are always overwhelming and full of energy as they put so much passion into music, wishing to support everyone who’s struggling. That is why ASTERISM call its own music‘Battle Music,’ as they battle while playing music to encourage people.
Now having 8.5k followers on Facebook, ASTERISM delivers its music to every corner in the world through socials and has been discovered by musicians and producers such as Bootsy Collins from the JB’s at the same time. ASTERISM’s track ‘155’ was shared by Bootsy Collins and the video has reached 6.15 million views, 1.3k shares now and is still trending.

@@allensaunders449 Good point. I'm really comparing this to her singing on Metal, which is the first song I heard her sing on. This is a big step up from that. They put out a new song a couple of days ago with vocals that also sounds good (and has a great music video).
発売と同時アルバムを買って聴くもハルカのボ－カルに何となく納得出来ずに殆ど聴かないでいました。ある海外のリアクション動画での彼の発言でハッとしたのは、曲の良し悪して聴かなった訳では無く、Astrismがトリオのインストバンドでボ－カルを必要としない位に楽器を謳わせてくれる稀有なバンドとの勝手な思い込みで彼らの才能を否定していたのではと改めてMVを見ながら反省していました。
彼等は信じられない若さでデビュ－し、作曲から演奏まで私の全ての価値観を吹き飛ばす勢いで成長をし続けていた事を忘れていました。彼女のボ－カルも演奏も相変わらずのクレイジ－な演奏でベ－ス、ドラムも本当に驚きを隠せません。その位に良いアルバムです。80年代の日本のヘビメタの終焉は酷い物で才能をレコ－ド会社が摘んでしまったとすら思っています。売れるもの作るために才能の目を潰したとすら言えます。
彼等がマスメタルを目指すと前作のアニメ・カバ－のアルバムと聞いた時は愕然として過去を思い出すも素晴らしい編曲と演奏で安心しました。しかしながら、今回は本当にマズイと思い先入観だけで聴いてはいませんでした。でも彼らの才能は想像の遥か上の様で、改めてこの曲を聴いているとライブハウスより大きなホ－ルで聴く楽しみと一部のマニアだけで喜ぶ音楽から大きく翼を広げるための一歩なのかもと思いました。
とにかく出す楽曲、アルバムの全てが素晴らしく、多くの人を訴求する音楽であると確信しています。今、Astrismの演奏は毎日聴かずいられない程に毎日、聴いています。年内にどこでも良いので一回ライブに行こうと決めています♬
Some artists are said to consider their instruments as extensions of their bodies. I truly feel this way about each member of Asterism, not just technically but also soulfully and musically. And now, with the addition of vocals, I simply can't take my eyes off these incredibly talented musicians.
一回目は魅力的なボーカルに驚き ２回目はポートノイみたいなドラムだけ聞いて、３回目は、ベースのメロディラインの気持ちよさに圧倒され。４回目で安定のギターに納得。３人の驚異的な進化はどこまで行くのか。

I just saw these guys at the Obsevatory in OC Ca. I initially stumbled upon them at Santa Monica pier promoting their show at the Observatory. They sound as awesome live. They connect with the crowd at a different level. Truly an amazing musical group. 🔥🔥🔥

An excellent opener for the ASIDE EP. The whole EP is fantastic. I always really liked ASTERISM as an instrumental trio, so TBH I was a bit worried about adding vocals to something that was already near perfect. But it works; it works very well indeed!
With The Session(s), Ignition, Guernica, Animetic and now ASIDE, and above all their live presence, ASTERISM show off how talented they really are. Instrumental prodigies with great stage presence, progressive metal writing skills, excellent re-arrangements of vocals on guitar, and now adding vocals whilst integrating more J-POP-elements, but keeping the heavy hard-rock & metal foundation. They were one of my favourite bands already, and I suspect this is just the beginning... 👍👍👍 I really do wish them all the recognition they deserve!

This is brilliantly done, adding vocals without losing anything instrumentally.We shouldn't be surprised, because the songwriting has always been up there with the musicianship.

My favourite of this album 🤘....I was surprised when I heard of the potential release of this EP, somewhat worrying that adding vocals (despite what everyone was suggesting) would take away the unique formula that made ASTERISM so phenomenal, the space for intuitive connection of instrumental expression between the members as vocal will inevitably restrict or rather frame song structures in particular ways. But I must say it works... Haruka's talent is simply endless. Great vocals and still retain the ASTERISM signature sound. It made me realise that what's truly great about this band is not only their phenomenal musicianship but their drive to innovate and constantly challenge themselves. Cannot wait to hear what the next project will be.

Glad Hal-Ca is singing now! I used to pester their manager a couple of years ago to get her to sing. They are certainly great instrumentally, but it's so hard to get a break these days, and so vocals will help get them more recognition. It's tough for a totally instrumental band to make a living, no matter how good they are, unfortunately.

Haruka has a very sweet voice
Just yesterday I saw these kids on J Melo (NHK), great performance. I just want to make two observations... Haruka's voice is excellent.👍 And it was about time a brand like ESP sponsored Hal-Ca, the Yamaha Pacifica was nice, but a girl with this talent deserved a custom instrument.😉

Cool video. Love the industrial area at night. Gives me a little Final Fantasy VII vibe......As for the song, it's really growing on me. I love Hal-Ca's voice and the band is tight as always. If the next full album can find a healthy balance between the vocal and pure instrumental tracks I think they'll have found their sweet spot. Much love, Asterism!

HAL-CAs outstanding beautiful voice and the background vocals give them so much more opportunities and lifting them on another level. I love their music so much.
When I first heard her singing a year ago I was thinking that maybe she should stick to guitar playing but her vocals have gotten a lot better.

The Japanese have definitely developed their own unique sound of "modern" metal,Altough it is not my " cup of tea",I tremendously respect that they are "real" musicians who have actually sacrificed many hours to develop skills on instruments, unlike the mainstream garbage of rap,hip hop we have in the USA here.And Japanese females are Kawaii ,lol🙂
