This track is off ASTERISM’s upcoming digital album “Animetic” to be released on September 9, 2022. The album includes metal instrumental covers of theme songs from the 2000s viral anime series that are selected by the members themselves.
ASTERISM is an instrumental metal band of three young musicians, HAL-CA (Gt; age 19), MIYU (Ba; age 20), and MIO (Dr; age 22), who aim to “break new ground in heavy metal.” The three have been interacting with music fans around the world through heavy metal since 2014.
As the band’s new challenge in 2022, they set foot into the new frontier that combines Anime songs, one of the representative cultures of Japan, and heavy metal instrumental arrangements together with ASTERISM’s outstanding instrument performance techniques.

It's cool to see a bass player with so many strings on his bass that actually ends up using them all, rather than being stuck on the lowest few for just the 'oomph' factor. Got the high riffs, the tapping, the lows. Full package deal.
I remember seeing Asterism play this in Santa Ana, California! I literally teared up!

The way she sustain those bends hits different, its like the feel and the timing is really well executed and the choice of its intensity or solemn, a really great job even the choice of sound on certain notes, especially the one at 2:10

This theme still makes me tear up. Tokyo Ghoul was and is such a great show. This is a really well done rendition, and encapsulates the emotional expression of the original pretty much perfectly. Also, holy fuck at that 7 string bass!!
