    Interesting how the interior is a mix of the previous generation and the current one.
    We're all waiting with baited breath for the new Mazda 6...many think it will be inspired by the Vision Coupe.

    Before I had a 2006 Mazda 6 with Variable Valve Timing Engine and the sound was amazing.
    Is it now the same or they changed it?

    The test car seems to have a faulty thermostat. You can even see the temperature FALLING when crossing 200 kmh. My 194ps Mazda6 2019 had the themostat replaced under warranty - stuck open!

    Consumption is quite high compared to Corolla and Octavia Estate

    • @andersnielsen6044

      It is also a much bigger car. You should compare it to a Superb/Passat or Avensis.

      @@andersnielsen6044 Not much bigger and more importantly - not much heavier. It's also more anemic to drive.

    • @kotfast

      If you see the size that way, it's not much smaller than a tank. Have you been in a Corolla!? It's small and cramped, i can tell you that. The 6 is bigger than a Octavia, it has a bigger platform and heavier as well. The only difference in driving is that you don't have the punch of a turbo ( because of difference in torque), so you have to rev it to get the best of it. It's just a matter of getting used to. However where the Mazda shines is in reliability. You can't compare a Skoda with a Mazda. Oh, and another thing... compare the prices of a similar Skoda Octavia (a class under) and this Mazda, i bet the Skoda is more expensive, because in mu country it is.

    • @sic22l
      @sic22l 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kotfast Corolla wagon has barely shorted wheelbase - 2700mm compared to 2750mm in Mazda. Both Corolla and Octavia have bigger boot than Mazda, they're both cheaper and more economical.

    Thanx for the good test
    To be honest I was expecting more fruitful/consumption performance from well "marketing" skyactive engine.
    What I see a slightly better Toyota performance vs double fuel consumption.
    It may have a good comfort level and better road fundemental (which I ve no idea from this video) however Mazda will not be in my preference list anymore

    • @marcoafserrano
      @marcoafserrano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, this is a 2.0 petrol engine not diesel. I don't think Toyota can have half the consumption.

    • @savascantek5308
      @savascantek5308 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marcoafserrano Hi Marco, I am aware that this is a 2.0 petrol and I am saying once more consumption is high and performance is mediocre.
      You are right Toyota is not "half" for sure , I just wanted to highlight the difference however competition has significantly better figures .
      Thus I understood skyactive technology is not a miracle and totally ignorable marketing motto for me

      "Everyone's an art critique, but not everyone can create art". You can't really have them all. And this car is really really good. Eventually you don't pick a car only for the consumption. And Toyota is really good, has mint tech (like I work in aerospace engineering and I fully understand their engines and their 2.5 and 2.0 Dynamic Force engines are really the jack of all trades). But you want also passion, you want to look behind you after you park and lock the car. You want excitement sometimes. Mazda has these, and a decent consumption.
      You can't have everything unfortunately. Personally I chose Mazda 3 Sedan e-skyactive X over toyota corolla 2.0 station wagon, and I do not regret for a second.

      I know about its technology. But i look to the results on the road. Not an efficent engine and it has bad performance results (compared to the other turbo powered engines). For a N/A engine, results are not bad.

    Typical skyactive. Slow , not efficient and btw not reliable. Design (and driving ergonomics) really saves this very controversial car. My 90’s 4 speed Mercedes had more efficient gear ratio. Almost 3000 rpm at 120 km/h is a JOKE!
