Finally storm coverage that isnt focused on new orleans ❤ houma, dularge, dulac, chauvin, etc are often forgotten when a storm hits southeast louisiana. We get damage too. We get water too. It's frustrating.
Growing up, as a native of Morgan City, we would always evacuate. Our house was well built and withstood the winds, but it was the storm surge that was most deadly. Years back, the Sheriff would go house to house begging people to leave. When they refused, he'd give them a toe tag to wear with their name and address. Their bodies could then be identified, if they'd ever be found.
Excellent video and since I'm deaf now, glad you have CC. You took some risks filming this, be careful. I used to chase back when I was young. Been in 8 tornadoes, seen nearly 60 of them, still here, lol...barely.
what do you recommend in terms of driving through a hurricane or severe storm ? I drove through hurricane beryl in my Hyundai elantra and i thought i was going to die
Thank you for recording what happens in our rural communities. They are often overlooked since the media only concentrates on the urban areas.
You're very welcome
So very true.

You are very brave chick.
Great stuff, Simon. So many cool shots.
Great video, loved when you said, poor tree is running out of branches to loose.
We were "supposed" to get this thing in the Lafayette area. Lucked out again.
Great video...Prayers for my fellow Louisianians....
Much appreciated
Francine showed what a CATEGORY 2 CAN DO! Ike destroyed Texas at a Cat 2, Francine destroyed Lousiaba at a cat2.

Omg! That was scary to watch. Were you parked in your truck all night in the storm?
Yes, parked all night waiting for the storm surge to recede
