唐武德九年，内廷生变，原太子之女李长歌侥幸逃出。逃亡途中，长歌偶遇化名为秦准的草原部落特勤阿诗勒隼，两人不打不相识，渐生英雄相惜之感。长歌在幽州粉碎一场阴谋，与此同时身份败露，前往㮶州避祸。她藏于㮶州刺史公孙恒身边，助其共抗草原势力侵袭，却未想到敌方将领隼竟是旧识秦准。长歌震惊痛心。然而㮶州情况危急，为争取时间等待援兵，李长歌与隼谈判，为大局甘愿沦为战俘被押往草原，意外得知大可汗另有野心。长歌决定暂放私仇，以身涉险拼死破局，隼为救长歌不惜与大可汗为敌，两人却阴差阳错天各一方。长歌辗转流亡，历经风雨的她逐渐领会仁者无敌的道理，最终彻底放下个人恩怨。在发现前隋势力才是挑动事端的幕后黑手后，长歌与隼联手为守护大唐与草原的和平贡献了自己的力量，两人也终于认清了对彼此的情感，携手共赴危局。
►Synopsis ：
In the 9th year of Wude Period of Tang Dynasty, Li Changge, the daughter of the former crown prince, accidentally escaped from the military coup in the palace. During her escape, Changge encountered the secret service agent of a grassland tribe, Ashina Sun, who was under the pseudonym of Qin Zhun. They got to know each other through a fight and their affection grew stronger. Changge smashed a conspiracy in Youzhou. However, at the same time, her identity was revealed, and she went to Shuozhou to escape capture. She hid herself beside Gongsun Heng, the governor of Shuozhou, to help him resist the invasion of the grassland forces, but she did not expect that the enemy general was Qin Zhun. Changge was shocked and distressed to discover Qin’s real identity. However, the situation in Yuzhou is in great danger. In order to gain time for reinforcements, Li Changge negotiated with Sun. For the sake of the overall situation, she was willing to be a prisoner and taken to the grassland. Then she accidentally learned that the Great Khan had an ulterior motive. Changge decided to temporarily put aside her personal vengeance, and risk her life to save the situation. In order to save Changge, Sun disobeyed the order of the Great Khan, but they were far apart from each other after that. After going through the arduous exile, Changge gradually understood the principle of the invincibility of the benevolent, and finally put aside her personal grievances. After discovering that the former forces of Sui Dynasty were the manipulators behind the scenes, Changge and Sun teamed up to protect the peace of Tang Dynasty and the grassland. They finally came to realize their deep affections towards each other and went to confront the crisis ahead.

I heard in ancient Chinese culture, princesses only have their hair down when they are with their husbands. In this ep, Hao Du was able to see Leyan with hair down and without her princess gown, and she’s in her most vulnerable and purest form because she’s just back from taking a bath, it’s foreshadowing they will be husband and wife already 😂

I love Leyan and Changge's character development. Both having their own realizations in life and seeing things differently after what they experienced. It's well-written and well portrayed. Especially Dilraba's scene just looking at the "non-interference" sign. So beautiful!

I guess the comment section is extra harsh to Chang ge because she's the MC. As viewers we usually expect them to be flawless. I like that she's a flawed character though and not a Mary Sue. She's smart and brave but also reckless and impulsive. Most of the things she's getting blamed for aren't even her fault if you think about it. She's gone through a lot at a young age. There is a lot of room for character development and I look forward to her journey of healing, learning and discovery.

It’s understandable why she blames herself. It wasn’t her fault, but just involving himself with her indirectly causes it. He protected her from the man who want to take her food and that lead the the big beating which caused him to be sick. If he hasn’t become her brother, he wouldn’t need to protect her and might have made it to Lou Yang sooner too.

I love how Leyan's protective amulet literally protected Hao Du from all the wars and battles that happened, and it was because he didn't give up in looking for her that he was safe. Love these two

Honestly i believe in character development. When characters are perfect from the beginning i find them unrealistic but when they learn from their mistakes, it shows that they are humans as well. You can already see that she is changing and she regrets it.Looking forward to next episodes! 💕

It's great to see the growth of the character. I like how it depicts Leyan from a princess that knows nothing about hunger or sufferings a regular person has, now she's seen what's the real world is and she understands the real danger is the war that hurts so many people.
Leyan has grown so much, its really refreshing... I remember how much her character annoyed me the ealier episodes lol. Kuddos to the writers, both princesses are learning and growing, love that for them.
I am really liking the character development of changge... she is young smart and wanted to solve everything . Nothing is wrong in that . Now she has reached a realization phase . Dilireba portrayed it so well. All her emotions spot on expressed . It was never in changge’s character to flee the capital leave luo yi . Let’s not forget khatun helped her too else she would not have been hopeful . Where was khatun when alir was being harassed by her own son .. ? Changge never wanted any of this .. she is a person who always wanted to try her best else she will never be satisfied .. I totally understand her character growth here . Nice writing ✍️

I do realize now, this is not just regular movie. If we see beyond, is a Taoism teaching. Lau Tze Philosophy. This is a great practice that can help us in our daily living life as well.
They'll explain the khatun's absence for that later. But honestly, the Khatun is my fave character apart from Chang Ge, even after that...they are like mirror images of one another, but ultimately choosing different paths to achieve ultimately the same goals.

A'du and Xiao Wu's death helps Changge and Leyan realize something. I love how realistic their characters are .. flawed but never fail to lean each lesson.
A'du dies in war because Changge keeps creating a war (for revenge). I think his death makes Changge realize that there is no winner in war.
Xiao Wu's death bc of starvation is a reminder for Leyan that not everyone is as privilege as she is.

such an amazing cast! everyone is excellent!!! Zhao Lusi is so genuine in her transformation and in conveying her feelings as she becomes stronger and stronger!
Seeing Leyan treat her real brother made me ache for Xiao Wu. That's why Leyan had a soft spot for him because they have the same attitude - haughty and full of tricks. I couldnt be happier to be right about Leyan's change in character. She now values all people instead of just the ones around her in the palace. I feel so proud of her like a mother lol Lusi's superb acting truly brought Leyan to life.
I hope that Hao Du has his own realizations too and remember what Shuyu told him about obsession. After all, they're all in Luoyang and who knows if he'd meet Changge soon. May he be able to judge on his own and not just be his father's puppet.

With all the hardships this princess had gone through, now she knew how difficult the life of the people.
So she thought she knew the way of the world... as long as she doesn’t have a wicked heart, so what if she thought that? Her travels and journeys are widening her viewpoint and assisting her character development. I’d be in shock if the character goes through death, sorrow and terror without changing her expression and just evading challenges because then 1) she won’t be the Changge we grew to love, and 2) if she’s scared of everything and never goes anywhere why are we even here? Her journey is rocky but it taught her to treasure her companions more. All this is just the tip of the iceberg... Also for people who complain about her two hair strands, pls go look at the original comic book. The film crew portrayed the character perfectly on Dilireba. I love The Long Ballad and everything about it.

This story line is great, awesome character development. Actors make it believable especially the heartbreaking events! The animation art style in some parts are also great! Even the love between the main characters are more realistic than other dramas I’ve watched! ♥️thank you for this masterpiece!

I really like how leiyan's character grew in this series. Even during hardships she never whined ," why me?" Instead she thought of helping others.
Leyan should realize soon that Shuyu doesn't love her.Yes,he cares for Leyan but he doesn't love her.He knows that Leyan likes him,so he should've just told her earlier to avoid deeper heartbreak for Leyan.
Would that be so expensive to let that child live, he could be the princess butler / brother so that he can eat whatever he wants ughh .
