If you really know about this language, you will know Cantonese is not Chinese, especially the Hong Kong- Cantonese. It’s because their grammar is so much different. We can’t find any Chinese novels are written by HK-Cantonese grammar, but only in Hong Kong. If the Hongkongers writing in Cantonese grammar, the Chinese people who speak mandarin absolutely can’t understand. It’s just similar to Japanese Kanji and Korean Hanja, they use the same characters but they don’t really know each other’s meaning of the words.
