CONDUCTING A PERC TEST IN MICHIGAN | 40 ACRES UPPER PENINSULA | PASS or FAIL?

- Perc test day on our 40 acres up north in the upper peninsula of Michigan. The Department of Health stopped by to conduct the testing and hopefully settle on a spot for our septic system. Excited to take you along on what they are looking for to pass the test. Thanks so much for following along as we love sharing these steps to move up north.

Congratulations on passing the perk test on the first hole. In 2020-2021 we built a home and learned quickly on the multiple steps in the process. We had good experiences with out local heath department inspectors and the excavation company was good as well. The whole process was very expensive, however, in the end we have a nice system that should last many years with good maintenance. This year we has our first tank clean out and everything was good. Good Luck with yours as it will also be fun to travel along in the steps with you both. Love the U.P.

My perc test in 2005 only passed in 1 of 3 holes. Good enough to build our house.

@KUEHLKUEST that would be nice. I caught a stupid cold when we were on our trip to the Hoist Lakes. We had plans to stay another night at Hoist Lake, but I had to cut it short. Still a nice backpacking trip.
