Just want to say thank you so much. I haven't found another channel that takes the time to explain how to 'think' about tarot as you do. I am just beginning, and it's so nice to go at a slower pace and really just ponder. You know your craft well, and we thank you for sharing it with us.

I laughed out loud at the christmas comment. Ten minutes before everyone drinks too much and starts insulting each other. Summed up my family. We're scottish in canada too. Love your content for its wisdom and insight. Thank you,

I LOVE that you have ONE deck, and it looks like you've gotten much use out of it! / It's a given I love The Beatles. But I LOOOVVEEE PINK FLOYD! / It DOES take a long time to make a video. But I have lots of time. / Thank you for your lessons! I get so much out of them. Your voice is very soothing, as well! 😁

Hi John, thanks again for an amazing video lesson. I love the settings simple as it is. I've watched pretty much all your past videos and I think you don't need all the glitter and green screen special effects used in the big screen to get your lessons across.. actually, were here to drink from your fountain of wisdom which is your experience with the tarot. We don really care about fancy visual aids 👍🌹🙏 thanks a million for your time and kindness to share your thoughts. I'm a huge fan of yours!

Hi John. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your book The Tarot Book which I have just purchased. I’ve also read The Tarot Our Guide on the open road. You were one of the first you tube readers I watched and you have given me a lot more insight and depth to my learning . Thank you for helping me on my own tarot journey !

I don't know if you noticed that this painting your grandson did couldn't be more aptly described than by using the commenters name "blessings of love" considering the the big blue heart in the upper left-hand corner and echoing down into the red, playing around in the orange and moving back up and into itself again, a true blessing, thanks for sharing!

I find the short reading today quite relevant,
and, the manner in which you teach elegant.

Since I've started learning tarot I look at the moon card as the crawdad coming out of the water and starting a new journey but having to choose if it will have the dog who is stable, loyal and dependable as its companion or the wolf who is wild and free, I look at it as the attitude of whoever is making their transition. I love your lessens, I'm only on this one and it appears that you have 81 of them but I'm watching them all because I love your insight and the sound of your voice is very soothing!

I think he said that, about the colors, because the last video was in black and white only. 🙂

Thank you so much John for your lessons which are expanding my understanding. In regards of your set up, I think it’s perfect. If someone is really interested in learning then the set up is irrelevant.
Btw I’m binge watching your videos and I love your knowledge and perspective on numerology. Would absolutely love to hear more on this subject from your point of intellect. 🙏🏼😊

    1) I think Blessings of Love (viewer) was just commenting on the fact that one of the videos came out in black-and-white. Doesn't bother me either way, but I thought I'd point that out since I have a feeling it wasn't a comment about the setting or the colour of the fabric. That said, your grandson's painting is lovely.
    2) I love the idea that the wind is a visual indication of invisible forces.
    3) I had a good chuckle about how the joy of Christmas morning lasts about 10 minutes and then everyone drinks too much and starts insulting each other! Thank you :-D
    4) About the idea that the tarot might have been developed to help people through difficult transitions in life... this is interesting, but it does give me cause to stop and think (never a bad thing, I concede). I believe without a doubt that this is true nowadays, where western culture, at least, is so openly influenced by psychology, among other things; the tarot reflects this, from the ways in which it can be used right down to all the different kinds of decks that are designed and sold (unfortunately, it reflects consumerism and capitalism at their finest, too, but those are arguably parts of the zeitgeist as well and anyway... another story for another time).
What I find much more difficult to get at is the question of intent going back the thousands of years of the history of the tarot. I'm not terribly well versed in this history, but from what I understand, it may have begun with the practice of casting sticks for fortune telling in Ancient Egypt and then, of course, it moved on to pick up all kinds of Judeo-Christian influences. So the cards that adopt a more traditional design are often steeped in all kinds of imagery related to these traditions, parts of which may have been highly superstitious in nature. Were the acts of fortune telling or of meddling with superstitions informed by a philosophy directed at helping people? Maybe. It's hard to try to understand the psychology or worldviews of people who lived in such radically different times. But I think there's a reason why tarot has tended to be labeled an 'esoteric' or 'occult' practice (without even going into the whole Aleister Crowley bit), whereas now it seems to have taken on greater dimensions of self-help or practical guidance.

A quick question: I have started to do free readings for family and friends.. because I am very new to the tarot, they tend not to ask a specific question and always ask for a general reading. How would I be able to tell from the cards if the cards are more likely to be related to what is going on in their career, love life, or something else entirely? Is there some clues from the suits and combination of cards that could guide me to pin point the event? At the moment, I feel like myself and my abilities to read the tarot accurately are being tested by the questioners.. any thoughts? 😃🙏 Thanks for your advice 😉

It's Cheiro's system. They are in the description below this video - you may need to click on "show more". It works so well because it's based on planets.
