  • an electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In its basic structure, an electric motor includes a battery, commutator, brushes, copper wire loop, and permanent magnet. When current flows through the circuit, a magnetic field is generated around the wire, interacting with the magnet's field to produce rotation. Electric motors and generators are like two sides of a coin: motors convert electrical current into mechanical force, while generators turn mechanical force into electrical current. By rearranging the motor into a generator, mechanical force from a windmill rotor produces electrical current when connected to a bulb.
