    Most of us are trying to think about 5 different things while we're throwing. Usually doesn't end well.

      That's why you practice, so you don't have to think about it when you're playing.

    Thanks for generating this one. It's precisely what I (DrSlade) asked for a few months back - and I really appreciate the "here's the model, and here's where *I've* been able to get to" element.

      @@slingshotdiscgolf1897 And, for what it's worth... the "crinkle shoe" and "PULVERIZE THE BUG" discussion would be SUPER valuable to get into the program... especially the heel drop. I see now that I was misinterpreting the heel drop drill - either by getting TOO on top of the right foot... or by noticing that, trying to stay BEHIND the right foot, and kind of uselessly twisting the left leg rather than driving off of the ball of that foot. Seeing McBeth's left heel with just a HAIR of daylight for the whole drift really makes clear what the leg SHOULD be doing. Too easy for me to MISS the point of the heel drop drill... and it's a WAY more complicated drill to get right than it might seem at first glance!

    Just started playing recently and I recorded myself throwing today. I had no idea my form was so off haha.. With all the steps to think about in a quick second, its hard to tell where youre going wrong without seeing your own form. Back to the field tomorrow

    Super informative. Yes, this is how you do it. But this is the why, and I think it’s important part of process. I’m just finally implementing smooth is far and letting disc rip out. I’m not throwing the disc as much as I’m “slinging” disc. I’m using less effort.
    Do you have a recommendation on how I can make a smooth far more powerful for distance. Is it a better timed brace or speed? How do I get more arm speed? Thanks!

    In the first video McBeth stays on his toes and doesn't shift his weight to the heal until right before his back foot toes are pointing towards the target. I never noticed McBeth is sliding his front foot into position and holds it. Great footage!

    as a fairly new disc golfer ( June 2022 ) I have watched so many videos trying to figure out what the "right way" is to do things when it comes to tee shots, putting, etc...etc...I am 61 years old, I can only throw about 240 feet or so. My longest from a stand still position out in the local city park was 255. I have an issue with an injury I suffered more than 10 years ago when I was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street, so I have to be careful when i throw with 100% power. I just had someone film me with their cell phone out on the local soccer field for the first time. It's very confusing, I can throw pretty straight, and can hit tunnel shots that other people in tournaments have great trouble with. I can see that proper form is the key to getting great distance. I have to go and try this this weekend and see if i can mimic what you are doing

    Most people can't do a single 1 legged squat. This is asking you to balance all your weight on your non dominant leg, while coiling, and drifting, and once you plant, use that backleg to launch your weight into your brace.
    I can't get my knee down as deep as the pros can, I've started to just being able to get it in before the arm some. I know the rest is just gonna come with time.
    It's simply not a position people can get into on day 1, it takes actual work.

    Was in a pro tournament this past weekend. There was a $20 prize for first place so I was trying super hard to throw over 600 feet. Plus there were a TON of chicks there cheerleading for me. Unfortunately I came in 2nd to last place and got banned from the disc course for public urination . I told them I have a weak bladder but it didnt matter apparently, what a crock

    When you say "coiling into the hip", I believe you're meaning that the torso coils against the hips, and that tension is above the hips in the abs. VS the hip being the primary place to coil (makes butt turn back). Maybe better stated, coil from top down so your torso is twisted. Correct?

    • @clintsawyer7702
      @clintsawyer7702 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the way he said it is perfectly fine and describes what you are doing. He said coiling INTO the hip, not coiling the hip.

    • @spoonraker
      @spoonraker 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I could be wrong here, but I think the key point is that the hip coil is passive. It's incidental. It's not actively coiled. It happens as a natural consequence of the forward move while trying to keep weight over your back leg and upright posture.
      The longer your final plant step is the more hip coil you'll get because in an effort to keep your balance on your back leg as you extend the front leg you're going to turn your hips and land with the toe. It's just unavoidable. The only way you don't do this is if you take a shorter plant step or don't maintain back leg weighting very long, which would make your body tilt forward.
