I use black polishes as stamping or background polishes (for semisheer or slightly sheer polishes with glitters or flakes a lot to make them pop). I also use white as background polish when a polish look i want is better served by it.
@@patricianv9449 it can be a dangerously addictive hobby - first you think you'll just get this plate and that plate, and then a few years later you realize you've accidentally amassed like a hundred or more plates, too many nail polishes and powders. On the bright side nail stamping is fun to do on not just nails, but any metal/glass/plastic surfaces too (like the back of handheld mirrors, phone cases, LED tealight holders, etc)
@@Call-me-Al I need to buy a beginners bundle lol eventually!!! I’ve watched tons of videos but I just haven’t made the purchase yet. I would never think to use the plates for other stuff and decor!
I'm the same. I love seeing black polishes on others, but never actually wear it. I'm sure if I would I'd actually love it. I don't understand the hype about 1 vs 2 coat blacks either, since I always do 2 coats anyway. However, if I'd do stamping or nail art on top of black, I could see why having a one coat black is just more convenient or a time saver. In regards to the angle: do you actually paint your nails that way? If so, that's so interesting. I would never have a steady hand that way 😁 I don't mind the angle while watching.
🤣 I almost always polish my nails while my hand isn’t on a flat surface. Or I hold the bottle with the hand I’m painting lol I can do it either way. Whatever’s comfortable really! Never thought about this before now… thanks for sharing. I haven’t gotten into stamping yet
My least favorite nail polish is sinful colors. It's so thin and doesn't self level at all. I'll be trying holo taco in the near future. I'm obsessed but I haven't tried it yet
Really? I LOVE sinful colors! Holo Taco is great but pricy. I haven't made too many purchased from them and found most cheaper in destashes. Thanks for watching!
Nail art makes those colors really useful even with really colorful polishes. My fav use for these is also as background color for other polishes, like iridescent or holographic or shimmer/glitter polishes. I do have plenty of solid color polishes and sometimes use e.g. a blue polish under a blue shimmer polish, but I as frequently use black or white or tan, or a completely different color like pink under blue shimmer or the like. Depends entirely on what kind of feel I'm going for at the time :)
Same. I go through phases where I just want to wear flakies, matte cremes and so on. I think I've only worn one white mani in my life! Thanks for watching and sharing :)
You have beautiful nails! I'm impressed with the Color Club black I need to try it out. Thanks for sharing. 🖤🖤🖤
Thanks! Color Club always has sales, usually during the holidays ;) rn they have a spring sale but I don't think black is "spring" lol
I love black polish - think it is very chic even if I don't wear it often I use the Sally Hansen.
I love them too but I never reach for them. I need to change that!

That sounds wonderful! I think I need to get into stamping... Thanks for watching :)

I paint my nails the same angle. I guess I never noticed it’s a weird position. Lol!
lol I guess it's cringe but if you have a steady hand ur good! Whatever makes us comfortable and happy right :)

I have never worn my one and only black polish. I just love color too much to wear black, white or any neutral.

I’d prefer a one coat wonder for black & white… I heard KBS has the best ones
Tfs! I always want to purchase more blacks but never wear them. All of my clothing is black so that doesn't make sense!
@@patricianv9449 😅😂🤣 black is spectacular for an undie for multichromes and shimmers.. save on the sheer polishes
The black I use the most is my sheer black which I didn’t even include 🤣 I prefer that one to do jelly sandwiches!
