Thank you for taking us with you on your walk with Bailey. The beach looked stunning. I've taken my time in 2023 to make a king size 6 row crochet granny square blanket using all my advent minis. I have a consistent colour as my middle and fifth row and changing colours for each other row. Its brought me great joy, even sewing in all those ends!! I'm now joining them using a 'new to me' technique, amd it has been great to have the blanket over me in this very chilly weather. Win, win for me! Although I've been a knitter all my life, I've never done a top down garment as the thought of short rows gives me the heebie jeebies!! I'm full of admiration of your newbie customer who wants to give it a go. Love your channel Jane. Take care 😊
Thank you Sandra. Your blanket sounds fab. Such a great way to use advents and also for cold weather crafting to keep you warm! Short rows could definitely be a tutorial. ☺️
Hi Jane, thank you for your lovely video , I really enjoy them , & yes I would put tassels on your shawl . You live in a beautiful area & Bailey is a super looking dog , he looks very fit , I love him x
Such a great episode! Love your colourwork jumper! I’m almost up to the last cable section of my Porthallow Cowl and have had an absolutely gorgeous experience being part of your KAL! Thank you for organising it. 😃 My favourite knit from 2023 was a pair of mittens I made as a gift for my daughter. I incorporated a secret message in each one using the knitting Morse Code that knitters used in wartime to secretly send information about enemy activities. She is a huge history aficionado and absolutely loved them! It was a massive challenge figuring it all out, and my first time knitting mittens. Oodles of fun! Happy knitting! 😃🧶
Thank you so much and your feedback is lovely. I will pass it on to Nicky and Fran who were a huge part of it. What a lovely gift! Such a special pair of mittens ☺️
Good morning, just received my three scans of Blue burn cedar yarn. I could not be more pleased beautiful yarn. The whole process of buying online was easy very quick and I will return
Love your podcast and kids porti. I wonder if you would consider teaching your beginners the cable cast on. It's so much easier than the long tail? And really is just a knit stitch. I use it for my beginners. I have just finished the Burra cowl and the Geogrdient shawl. Favourite knit of 2023 the Maudie cardigan by Truly Myrtle modified to be a v neck. In perendale fushia colour. what a lovely coastline.
Thank you. Love a fuschia pink yarn 💓 my mum taught me the cable cast on 🥰 but I find that people want to learn a more stretchy cast on that can be used universally so are happy to learn this method as they can use it again and again. Cable cast on can sometimes be a bit rigid for hems, hats and cuffs etc. but if they can’t grasp long tail then I definitely revert to it just to get started so thank you for sharing ☺️
Aww Bailey, the star of the show today ❤. Yes to the tassels Jane. A suggestion for an online class " Steeking" 🤔? A lovely podcast video Jane, so enjoyed looking at your knits.
Hello Jane. I joined the cowl KAL but have had eye surgery and a nasty fall so am a bit behind. I’m just starting on the third colourwork band, so nearly there. I’m about to frog a Felix sweater knitted in a WYS Aran weight. 6mm needles, didn’t like the fabric, forgot what size I was knitting etc so am cutting my losses. Pattern and yarn both fine but in this case not together.
Sorry to hear about your fall and surgery. Hopefully you are well on the road to recovery. ❤️🩹 Felix is quite an open gauge anyway isn’t it so totally get why you frogged ☺️
The last three times I've been to Cornwall I've stayed at Trewan Hall, St Columb Major. Mawgan Porth is the beach where we took our dogs and it is so wonderful to see your video of it. A lovely reminder of this beautiful place and happy times spent with friends. Your experience with the hated sideways cable sweater reminds me of trying to get though a book I am not enjoying! Usually I just decide that life is too short and don't persevere. I am caught up with your videos from 2023 and this first one from 2024... I am already looking forward to the next one. I'd really like to see an online tutorial for a top down sweater as I would like to knit the Field Sweater that you showed a while ago. I haven't knitted in the round yet but hope to try that on a much smaller scale fairly soon. Many thanks for all the hard work you put in making your videos.
Hi Jane! Another great video. Thank you so much and so looking forward to all the goodies you have planned for 2024. Can you give me an idea of the postage cost to USA. I’d love to buy one of your kits. My suggestion is that you invite your Mum to come for a chat. I’m 84 and thoroughly enjoyed her visit with the Queen!
Thank you we are excited about 2024. We do post to the US and postage starts at £25 I think it’s up to £200 order? After that it goes up incrementally. ☺️
Hello Jane, I have found you some weeks ago and today I looked at your video. It is really wonderful tobsee you with so much wool behind you!! That's what I would say ITS HEAVEN ❣️❣️❣️ Unfortunately I live in Germany, but I've got all my life the connection with England/Great Britain! It is in my soul... I wish you all the best for the New Year, stay healthy and always HAPPY KNITTING ❣️❣️❣️Gitta 🍀🐞🍀🌞💐🧚♂️🌈🌞💕
I say no tassels, but I do love your color choices for the Pressed Flower Shawl. My favorite knit of 2023 was Stephen West's Clockwork. It was easy knitting for a friend. Bailey is a handsome dog. Boxer?
Thank you. I have only ever done one of SE patterns but always found them really well written. Yep Bailey is a boxer dog. Getting to be an old boy now but he hasn’t realised it yet 😜🥰
Hello from Denmark! So happy that I found your channel - so inspiring knitwork presented in a calm way - and with a very soft voice . Thank you also for the walk in beautiful scenaries
So lovely to see all your makes and I’m tempted to make the little cardigan for one of my granddaughters. I have never knitted a top down sweater, so a tutorial on how to start that and dividing for the sleeves would be great. Lovely film at the end, I love seeing Cornwall. Thank you for another lovely podcast. 😊
Thank you and this is something I will be doing so I am glad you think it will be helpful. The Kids Portybis such a sweet pattern. They do it in sizes up to adult too. ☺️
Hi Jane, I love Cornwall and need to come back for another holiday! It makes me so homesick watching your video but at the same time understand why it’s so many peoples happy place. This year I’m going to try and be more intentional with my knitting and slow down and not try and knit everything! Slow craft is my thing 😊 I want to use the yarn in my stash and not get taken in by so many knits on social media. Saying that there are so many beautiful patterns and yarn it’s very tempting. Nice listening to you chat while I knit the garden cardigan in preparation for our winter ❤
Thank you. I am happy to feed your longing for Cornwall when I can. Such a good plan to knit intentionally and not get swept up by the hype around new patterns. There are so many released each week it creates a pressure all its own if you get bombarded with them on social media. Enjoy knitting at your pace 🥰
Thanks so much Jane for another super podcast! I would say yes to tassels always! My favourite knit of last year has to be the Tuku sweater, my first pattern from the Petite Knitter. The pattern was really easy to follow, and a joy to knit, I love it so much because the colourwork is beautiful, and the fit is great. I knitted it in yarn from John Arbon Yarnaddelic, and think it suits it very well. I would love to follow a tutorial on brioche. Something that scares me a little, but I am confident you could guide us through, with your knowledge and patience! Thanks again so much for your so enjoyable podcasts, very kind regards, Zillah x x🙏
Thank you and tassels are obviously popular! What a great combo. 😍 Petite Knit and Yarnadelic. Brioche is definitely something I would like to teach ☺️
i think the tassels would be pretty. I did the pressed flowers sweater and I know what you mean; i made it into a vest because I just could not do one more flower! LOL Thank you for showing us the scenery - so beautiful and your dog is so precious. I have two springers and they would not behaved as well as Bailey! LOL
Thank you. I see she has just released the best version you were ahead of the curve 😜 yep I won’t be casting one on for a while until the memory fades. ☺️
I think the socks that I've knit and given away for Christmas were my favourites. At the moment a shawl that I think I have knit on too small needle size is not the one I want to work on but I'm carrying on as I'm past the point of no return so to speak!. Love seeing the beach, must be a great time to live in the area when all the tourists have gone home. It's the same here in San Diego and back home in West Sussex, to be able to park the car and go to a cafe easily within sight of the beach makes it a pleasure. Thanks for the episode. Jane.
Thank you and yes Cornwall in the winter has a special kind of beauty. Well done for persevering with your shawl. I am usually ok about doing that but the Wiliam jumper just defeated me 🙄
Hi Jane, tonight I watched my first, but not my last episode, of The Cornish Knitter. I was scrolling through You Tube and the title caught my attention. I watched Episode 14. I absolutely loved it. Didn't get quite enough of you, so went back and watched Episode 1. And lucky me, I still have 12 more episodes to enjoy!
I really enjoyed your podcast, thank you. I hope to be travelling to Falmouth in the next few months and will make a pilgrimage to your lovely looking yarn store 🤗
Hi Jane:. Yes to tassels, shawl is beautiful. I love the children's jumper too, lovely colours. I like the cowl too. Your dog is beautiful, such nice colouring. Thanks for the trip to the beach.
Hi Jane What a lovely person you are , really look forward to your podcasts. Wish I lived closer and could visit you and the shop… as I’m in Australia probably not going to happen. Take care and I’ll keep watching you on TH-cam 😊
Hello again Jane, another great episode and inspiring as always. I followed your pattern advice from earlier last year and tried knitting in the round for the first time. I made the Sea Haven Sweater by JST Designs. I used 4ply from stash held double and it came out beautifully and fits well. I had no problems following the instructions and have just started another one. I highly recommend this pattern. Secondly I made the Sille Slipover by Petite Knit. This was a bit more complicated form of construction, but again made in the round and the finished garment is brilliant. I Iove that there are no seams to sew up and the finish is so much more pleasing . So thank you for recommending these patterns. Previously I have mainly crocheted blankets, but now am making socks and garments all on circular needles. Life changing. So this year's learning challenge is colourwork and the new cowl pattern and the child's cardigan look to be the place to start. Watch this space and keep up your excellent podcasts. ❤
Good to see you back and I enjoyed the podcast ,as always . I would like to vote for the tassels on your pressed flowers shawl. I think it will help it 'stand out in the crowd' given the muted palette.
Knitting The Secret Garden sweater. I follow a gardening group on FB and one of the members is painting flowers since she can’t garden at this time. Thinking of knitting a floral theme item might be a cheerful project to get through the winter😊 Happy Knitting 2024 🧶🧶🧶
hello, jane - been watching and enjoying your vids since you started. oh, yes, please - a tutorial on changing colors without a jog, and one on adding a new yarn of the same color without creating a hole. i’ve seen soooo many videos about those two subjects, and nothing seems to work for me. please help!
So inspiring to see Your go’s and no go’s😇 my most used knit is Rømø by Hanne Rimmen. Similar to the Filcolana sweater you’re wearing. Knit in Plotulopi and Einband from istex. At the moment I am in a baby bubble, preparing for our 4th Grandson. Knitting Venø blanket from Kit Couture and Babybubble cardigan from Camijo knit. Check her out, she’s a brilliant Yarn dyer too🤗
Thank you for these recommendations I am now going to look them up. I have yet to knit with Plutolopi but I need to because I hear such good things about it. Enjoy your baby bubble. It sounds divine 🥰
Happy New Year Jane love the child’s cardigan but sadly no grandkids to knit for. I am on my fourth mitred square blanket changed the design on this one. I am going to start on socks soon as it’s something I always wanted to knit. Thanks for the visit to the beach it was lovely.
Thank you. Blankets are such a good option this time of the year aren’t they? Keep you warm as you knit 😜 no sign of grandchildren here either but heyho I have plenty of others I can knit for. Socks are addictive but such a great portable project. Do give them a go ☺️
Thank you for the podcast. I have made a lot of socks which are always fun. I made a Gan slipover which I have worn a lot, with trousers/jeans or over a dress. I have just cast another one on. A tutorial for German Short Rows would be useful as I really struggle to understand the process and I feel I have been lucky when they have worked for me!
My dearest, I agree, the only silly question there is, is the question one did not ask. Thank you for yet another marvellous, inspiring episode, all the best, Su / Pinguinpullover
Hi Jane, great video, lovely to see your makes. My most worn and enjoyable knit was the kristylopi cardigan from Helene magnusson. It was my first steek and she had a lovely video to explain it. It’s so warm and really light I love it. You’re retreats look wonderful and if I didn’t have bookings already I would have come in April. Hopefully in the future. I’m also hoping to do a kal with you. Lessons wise it would be nice to have some tips on mastering continental for 70 year olds 😂. Much love Maggie for the Wirral xx
Thank you Maggie. We will be hosting plenty of retreats so maybe you will be able to join us in the future. I am going to look up that cardi now 😜 continental knitting is added to the list ☺️
I have made a general list thus year. Nothing set in stone (I had a lovely knitting journal fir Christmas). So far from my list (I don't have a kitten or children to wrangle), 3 pairs of scrappy socks with leftovers from my 2023 blanket project, I am about 1/2 way through my second (I made the other one ages ago) Ilha jumper and when I feel like it, reknitting my grandson's fingerless gloves as they came out too big for him. I have a couple of other things on the list including the Harmonia Cowl, I love the way it sits. Plus a couple of slip overs/tank tops, one for my husband that I designed, but seems to be missing, knitted in Alpaca UK yarn (really well priced!) Loved your Renunculus most of all I think...that colour!❤
Thanks for your video - I always enjoy your Podcasts and find them very inspiring. My two favourite makes last year were the Peacock Tee by Lene Holme Samsoe and a Love Notes sweater, knitted in bright pink Wool/silk/mohair - a very bold colour for me but I love it! I really like your Nordstrand sweater - which yarn from your shop would you recommend to knit it?
Thank you. Oo a bright pink Love Note sounds fab. I need one of those on my life 🥰 I would go for an aran or worsted weight and either Cumbria or @make aran by Fibre Co would be my choice ☺️
Yes to tassels, you can always take them off again if you don’t like. My most worn item this winter has been the Hilly Hood I’ve even had offers to buy!! Not even tempted 🤣. I’m about to knit another. I’ve really enjoyed the KALs and wear everything I’ve knitted. Love my Ilha and Weekender and would do both again. Oh the beaches at the end ❤ Thank you another lovely TH-cam.
Thank you. I love the North Cornish coast - many happy memories of holidays spent there. Definitely tassels. I am currently knitting the Moby Sweater by Petite Knits
I loved your approach to the 2023 recap. I’ve watched them all 🤣 and they can be a bit intimidating- I can’t knit that fast! I didn’t knit anything I can grab and wear - all too complicated- so that’s my intention for 2024 as well as sweaters that fit under coats! Turns out my most rewarding knits were 3 Unicorns, a rabbit and a piglet for 3 granddaughters. BTW: yes, TASSELS!
Knitting toys is such a pleasure and for such a good reason too. I bet they loved them 🥰 never be intimidated by others speed or skill. This knitting malarkey is meant to be fun and pleasurable so just enjoy what you do and the process. Thank you ☺️
Hello and Happy new Year dear Jane - thank you for such a great episode; I noticed the Porthallow Hat on Instagram the other day and snapped it up to make for our coming Winter. To answer some of your questions - my favourite knits from last year would have to be 2 I did for my beautiful little granddaughters - one is the “Pippa” cardigan by Sarah Hatton which I made for our precious girl who was born on your birthday Jane and the second is a locally produced pattern I call the “Sheepy cardy “ by Ronnie Avery which has a colourwork farmyard scene for our 2 and a 1/2 year old granddaughter. My most worn hand knit would still have to be the “Beryl” moss stitch cardigan from the Wensleydale Longwool Sheepshop which is getting close to 10 years old as I bought the yarn on our trip to the UK in 2014!! At the moment I’m just doing the collar on an epic (as in Longtime) cardigan featuring cables etc and making Miss 1year old in July a Farmyard Playset - very exciting!! And thanks for the lovely trip to the beach 🏖️
Thank you for sharing all your lovely knits and plans. Your grandchildren are so lucky to have such a knitty nan/gran 🥰 your 10 year old knit sounds like a real heirloom piece and isn’t it great to feel that you have something that will last and that you can wear again and again and it still feels good! 😊
I just love watching your episodes. I was inspired to order a few kits from the shop. Cannot wait to have them arrive and work with your yarns. Thanks so much for putting practical kits together. It makes life easier for the indecisive!
I'm knitting a daft days cardigan by Rebecca Clow and recently test knit the Squish cardigan by Andrea Rangel. It's all over cables which I loved and have gotten lots of compliments on. I had started a shawl while on holiday last summer in Italy, but decided that I would never finish it and so frogged it recently. I hope to come to you shop in Cornwall someday!
Thank you for sharing your makes. Rebecca has some lovely patterns and they are so well written too. I like a shawl but I know some people just don’t wear them. I firmly believe it only knitting something that brings you joy ☺️🥰
Another lovely video full of your inspiring projects. I knitted 2 garments, one called Darkness hooded jacket and the Soft loop sweater. I like them both. Thank you Jane 🏴
Hi Jane, love watching your videos, great content , would love to knit the child’s cardigan for my granddaughter, however I have never done any colour work , or knitted in one piece maybe get round to it one day . Beautiful scenery 😊
As always another lovely episode of your knitting wonders! I aspire to be as clever as you Jane, just love love all that you knit, especially that beautiful little child’s cardigan ❤️ Just an idea, I’m struggling with fingers on a glove at the moment, I just can’t seem to get my head around it, any chance you could maybe do a tutorial in the future? I really enjoyed your trip to the coast too. 🏄♂️ Take care, stay warm x
My most worn knit of 2023 is the Great Love Cardigan. The yarn I used was from deep stash, Juniper Moon Sabine that I bought on clearance and just waited to use it for the right project. It is 40 % cotton, 30% llama and 30% merino wool. It is the perfect weight for where I live in south Texas in the US.
I would love to learn how to knit socks on a circular needle. I have knitted on 2 needles but dont think sewing up looks great. Plse explain about your sock tutorial ? Thank you
@@thecornishknitter oh yes, socks are addictive, in only a few months i made 10 pairs for myself plus 4 pairs i gave as gifts and I have one sock on the needles right now which will be frogged though, i am not happy with the way this one turns out but it still is a good way to learn how needle size and pattern and yarn interact. I knit them toe up, because i am a complete failure at closing toes. 🙈 What i like best about socks is, that i can take my knitting everywhere and a few minutes here or there will do, no endless rows, no difficult pattern repeats to memorize, just sweet easy calm mindless knitting and when one is done, lovely gifts. Perfect.
Thank you for another wonderful episode! Poor William's lot was not entirely surprising, considering what you said last time :) My favourite knit of 2023 was a Musselburgh hat. I've hardly taken it off since I finished it. Partly because the wool (a tweed dyed by Nervus Fibre out of Glasgow) is so gorgeous and partly because the fit is so great. As a contrast to that most basic of silhouettes I'm now knitting a Henry VIII beret by Alice Starmore, although I have another Musselburgh on the needles for when someone wants to talk to me :) My least favourite knit is a hat that really turned out a bit too big, although the recipient insists he's happy with it.
I bet they loved it anyway because you knitted it for them. Musselburgh seems a popular choice and I do plan on knitting another soon too. Always special to knit with a yarn you love 🥰
Lovely to listen to your knitting chatter after Xmas. Nice to see what you've been knitting & reassuring to see that sometimes patterns are not quite for us. My favourite knit has been my Felix cardigan in Jamieson's heathered Aran. Haven't blocked it yet but really enjoyed knitting it. I'm onto my 2nd for my daughter. Will definitely have this pattern in a couple of colour ways. Didn't really have a least favourite but will say my Milet mittens by Ysolda Teague haven't come up the size I expected but that may be my yarn choice BUT love her Mussleburgh hat it's a genius pattern. Loads on my needles at the moment. Always a pair of socks or shawl or both. A cardigan, a hat & a pair of mitts. Lots & lots of lovely patterns I'm wanting to knit & lots of yarns I'm itching to try. Thanks for another lovely podcast. X
Wow one busy lady! The Felix is a wardrobe staple isn’t it and a classic for good reason. I recommend it in the shop so many times. I have Musselburgh plans at the moment too 🥰
My most worn cardigan is Hazel Tindall’s Hamnafield knit in Armscote Manor’s 4 natural undyed shade(black, white, and 2 greys). Plump DK for Canadian winters, I have this on day and night, and under my winter coat.
Happy New Year Jane Lovely to see You. Love hearing your plans for 2024. Your pressed Flowers Shawl is Beautiful I’ve had that in my to do list since it first came out, must get my act together and knit one . Always enjoy the footage around your area. Take Care x❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you and do get the Pressed Shawl on your needles. It is a dream to knit (just the last few rows seem to take a long time) but the end result is fab ☺️
Looking forward to your travel vlogs, still missing Cornwall, even after all these years. There's something very special about being able to walk to the seaside. The cowls are lovely and the child's cardi❤ All the best with what you have planned for the year. I made a knitted dress last year, from Isagar Tweed yarn it was fun to make in a blue fade. Right now i am making a second Ilha, from locally dyed sock tsrn held with Kidsilk Haze in a lilac colour. Loving that one!
Woah. A knitted dress is a real commitment so hats off to you ☺️ the Kids Porty is a real cutie and I really enjoyed knitting it too. Just enough interest with colourwork and a gorgeous pattern n thank you for watching 🥰
Course or tutorial idea: I have on several occasions changed a jumper pattern into a cardigan, and the reverse. It is surprisingly easy to do and it widens the choice of patterns one can use. Perhaps others would like to learn too. ❤ Your instruction videos are always marvellous. 😘
Y least favourite knit, Geogradient shawl - abandoned. Favourite knit, Ambershore Shawl by Ines Sang, sadly knitted twice for someone else, shall be knitting for me soon 🤗
Thank you. I know many people that abandoned the Geogradient shawl so you were not alone in casting it aside. Get that Ambershore on the needles for you soon ☺️
Thank you. I would pick an Aran or worsted weight to make it easier and suggest something like Step by Step sweater by Florence Miller or Felix pullover by Amy Christoffers. Have fun! ☺️
Another lovely episode ☺️ I think my favourite knit is my Jenny Sweater by Petiteknit, which I loved making and wear almost every day. My least favourite knit is my Twist Loop Sweater by Other Loops; it’s quite a heavy garment and I feel it doesn’t fit me very well, so I hardly ever wear it. Maybe an idea for an online class(es) could be stranded colourwork/ fair isle (not sure if they’re the same thing)? I got some Raw Wool DK from your shop in the autumn (which looks and feels gorgeous) that I’m going to pair with Fiberworkshop Norfolk Horn DK to make a Saltburn Sweater by The Knit Purl Girl
Just visited your online shop after watching your pod. Looking forward to receiving Receiving my purchase and enjoyed visiting your shop online, very much, very straightforward, clear and easy to use🙏
That was fun! It made me think of my 2023 knits in the same way. My most warn was definitely Effervescent from Pom Pom 41 (I think) in Dornie Donegal fingering in the most amazing green and the most loved probably Slipstravaganza in Holstgarn. I loved knitting with the colour playing together. I am not sure about the worst.. there was nothing I really didn’t like and if it was it was frogged ❤
I was watching J B Strike. They said they were heading to Falmouth. My ears perked up - I thought, "I know where that is." Do you know if they really filmed there?
Jane is right. Do the scary thing! You might just find it is not scary at all, on the contrary, it is rather easy and fun! And if it really isn´t for you, you can always say "I tried", which sounds so much better than "I don´t dare", don´t you think? All the best, Su
Lovely episode again, many thanks from north Wales
Yay. Thank you ☺️
Thank you for taking us with you on your walk with Bailey. The beach looked stunning. I've taken my time in 2023 to make a king size 6 row crochet granny square blanket using all my advent minis. Thank you Sandra. Your blanket sounds fab. Such a great way to use advents and also for cold weather crafting to keep you warm! Short rows could definitely be a tutorial. ☺️
Thank you for the walk. Bailey is beautiful.
Thank you. I think he is too but I am somewhat biased 😂
Tassels for sure. Love the colours too.
Tassels seem to be a winner! ☺️
Hi Jane, thank you for your lovely video , I really enjoy them , & yes I would put tassels on your shawl .
You live in a beautiful area & Bailey is a super looking dog , he looks very fit , I love him x
Thank you. Yes he is a gorgeous chap and we are lucky he is so fit for his age. Tassles it is! ☺️
A first for me too, recommended by my friend, Frances. 🇬🇧
Yay thank you ☺️
Such a great episode! Love your colourwork jumper! I’m almost up to the last cable section of my Porthallow Cowl and have had an absolutely gorgeous experience being part of your KAL! Thank you for organising it. 😃
My favourite knit from 2023 was a pair of mittens I made as a gift for my daughter.
Thank you for your order and the lovely feedback ☺️
Love your podcast and kids porti. I wonder if you would consider teaching your beginners the cable cast on. It's so much easier than the long tail? And really is just a knit stitch. Another lovely podcast. I love the videos at the end. I so miss the Uk
Thank you. I will try to keep them coming every couple of episodes ☺️
I need those mittens. Can’t wait for to buy the pattern.
They are pretty lush 🥰
Aww Bailey, the star of the show today ❤.
Yes to the tassels Jane.
A suggestion for an online class " Steeking" 🤔?
A lovely podcast video Jane, so enjoyed looking at your knits.
Steeking is going on the list! Ah Bailey Boo is a star bless him. Such a gorgeous but naughty boy 🥹 thank you for watching ☺️
Probably better with a mohair combo, but not for me!
Thank you and yes being surrounded by all that yarn is heaven and sooo tempting ☺️
Tassels? Yes. Lovely soft shades.
Yes! Thank you!☺️
I say no tassels, but I do love your color choices for the Pressed Flower Shawl.
Thank you for such lovely comments 🥰
Hi Jane. It was lovely to see you back on TH-cam. I always loves your chats and seeing all your makes
Thank you so much!😊
So lovely to see all your makes and I’m tempted to make the little cardigan for one of my granddaughters.
So glad I found your channel. I liked and subscribed ☺️. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Awesome! Thank you! ☺️
Hi Jane, I love Cornwall and need to come back for another holiday! It makes me so homesick watching your video but at the same time understand why it’s so many peoples happy place.
This year I’m going to try and be more intentional with my knitting and slow down and not try and knit everything!
Slow craft is my thing 😊
I want to use the yarn in my stash and not get taken in by so many knits on social media.
Thank you for this nice episode! As always, so much inspiration! Also I enjoyed seeing the film from the see.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you ☺️
Thanks so much Jane for another super podcast!
Oh thank you! So glad you found my little corner of TH-cam. ☺️
I really enjoyed your podcast, thank you. I hope to be travelling to Falmouth in the next few months and will make a pilgrimage to your lovely looking yarn store 🤗
Please do! Thank you ☺️
Hi Jane:. Yes to tassels, shawl is beautiful. I love the children's jumper too, lovely colours. I like the cowl too. Your dog is beautiful, such nice colouring. Thanks for the trip to the beach.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Hi Jane
What a lovely person you are , really look forward to your podcasts. Wish I lived closer and could visit you and the shop… as I’m in Australia probably not going to happen.
Take care and I’ll keep watching you on TH-cam 😊
Thank you so much. Maybe I will visit Aus one day 🤞🥰
Hello again Jane, another great episode and inspiring as always. I
Iove that there are no seams to sew up and the finish is so much more pleasing . ❤
Wow. Thats so great to hear. I love both those patterns too. As you say there is no stopping you now! 🥰
Good to see you back and I enjoyed the podcast ,as always . I would like to vote for the tassels on your pressed flowers shawl. I think it will help it 'stand out in the crowd' given the muted palette.
Haha. Tassels are obviously a popular option ☺️
Maybe tassels, or, even better, POM POMS! 🤩
Haha. I can probably convince the girls in the shop about tassels pom-poms maybe a stretch too far for them 😂
Knitting The Secret Garden sweater. I follow a gardening group on FB and one of the members is painting flowers since she can’t garden at this time. Thinking of knitting a floral theme item might be a cheerful project to get through the winter😊 Happy Knitting 2024 🧶🧶🧶
What a great idea. This sounds like a good pick me up in the dark freshener months. I haven’t seen this sweater but now off to look ☺️
hello, jane - been watching and enjoying your vids since you started. oh, yes, please - a tutorial on changing colors without a jog, and one on adding a new yarn of the same color without creating a hole. i’ve seen soooo many videos about those two subjects, and nothing seems to work for me. please help!
Thank you and GSR are a definite workshop for the future. 🥰
Tassels yeah lovely Jane
Tassels are obviously popular 😜 thank you ☺️
My dearest, I agree, the only silly question there is, is the question one did not ask.
Thank you for yet another marvellous, inspiring episode,
all the best,
Su / Pinguinpullover
Ah thank you 🙏🏻 I totally agree. No questions ever silly because how else do we learn! 🥰
I've just discovered you from Eldenwood Crafts and really enjoyed this podcast. I just wish I lived near you lovely shop x
Oh thank you! ☺️
Yeah the ranunculus was a close second I have to say. What a great list! I love my Ilha sweater and it would be one I would knit again. Thank you ☺️
I would love it if you could do something about how to make sure sweaters fit properly.
On my list 😜 thank you Bee ☺️
Loved the episode. The scenery at the end was lovely. Love the ocean even in the Winter.
Me too and thank you ☺️
Yes to tassels, you can always take them off again if you don’t like.
Thank you for watching! 🥰 I love the Hilly Hood we have a sample in the shop. Gorgeous design. Good idea with the tassels. Thank you ☺️
Oh such an inspiring episode 😊 That wee kids cardigan is so pretty, I would love it in an adult version :)
It is lush. I think they do adult cardi and sweater too. Thank you ☺️
Thank you. I love the North Cornish coast - many happy memories of holidays spent there.
Definitely tassels.
I am currently knitting the Moby Sweater by Petite Knits
Love the Moby 😍 tassels seem to be a winner! Thank you ☺️
I loved your approach to the 2023 recap.
Thank you ☺️
Oh and tassels noted!
Awesome! Thank you! ☺️
I feel another Ravelry favourite coming on 😜 thank you ☺️
Hi Jane, love watching your videos, great content , would love to knit the child’s cardigan for my granddaughter, however I have never done any colour work , or knitted in one piece maybe get round to it one day . Beautiful scenery 😊
Thank you. Do give colourwork a try it is honestly not as scary as you might think ☺️
As always another lovely episode of your knitting wonders! I aspire to be as clever as you Jane, just love love all that you knit, especially that beautiful little child’s cardigan ❤️
Just an idea, I’m struggling with fingers on a glove at the moment, I just can’t seem to get my head around it, any chance you could maybe do a tutorial in the future?
I really enjoyed your trip to the coast too. 🏄♂️
Take care, stay warm x
Thank you. That’s a good suggestion. Maybe a pair of gloves 🤔 would work! Watch this space for more walks on the coast 🥰
Sounds like it was a good use of a yarn you had put aside for the perfect project ☺️
I would love to learn how to knit socks on a circular needle. I have knitted on 2 needles but dont think sewing up looks great. Plse explain about your sock tutorial ? Thank you
Now I know that one is definitely on my list 😜 be warned socks are addictive! ☺️
I have Musselburgh plans at the moment too 🥰
Lovely episode, and love seeing your walk too, we went there a couple of years ago when on holiday😀
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you ☺️
My most worn cardigan is Hazel Tindall’s Hamnafield knit in Armscote Manor’s 4 natural undyed shade(black, white, and 2 greys). Plump DK for Canadian winters, I have this on day and night, and under my winter coat.
I have just looked that one up! Love the shaping and pattern. We have some undyed Armscote in the shop and it is special 🥰
❤❤❤
🥰
Course or tutorial idea: I have on several occasions changed a jumper pattern into a cardigan, and the reverse. It is surprisingly easy to do and it widens the choice of patterns one can use. Perhaps others would like to learn too. ❤ Your instruction videos are always marvellous. 😘
Great idea! Thank you I hadn’t considered that but it is now added to my list! Thank you ☺️
Y least favourite knit, Geogradient shawl - abandoned.
Having worked in fashion for quite some time, I believe that you should add the tassels.
Thank you ☺️
My first visit but I will be back. I am a new knitter and want to try an over sized sweater on circular needles. Can you suggest an easy pattern. Tia
Great plans and love your choice of favourite knit. I have had my eye on that too. I want to do a colourwork tutorial too 🥰
Lovely ! Mabe an introduction to lace knitting class ?
Great idea! Thank you ☺️
Just visited your online shop after watching your pod. Looking forward to receiving Receiving my purchase and enjoyed visiting your shop online, very much, very straightforward, clear and easy to use🙏
Awesome! Thank you! Feedback like thins really helpful. ☺️
Ooh I feel a Ravelry search coming on. Thanks for sharing ☺️
I was watching J B Strike. They said they were heading to Falmouth. My ears perked up - I thought, "I know where that is." Do you know if they really filmed there?
I think they filmed here and St Mawes because Strike is meant to originate from here. ☺️ I love the books and series too 😜
Love the podcast. I have 5 little granddaughters who would all love a porty cardi. Is the yarn in your kits washable? It's so lovely. x
Thank you. The yarn is a non superwash I am afraid so hand wash only. But it’s a lovely pattern 🥰
Knitting a sweater from the top down scares the living hell out of me
Please don’t be intimidated by it as once you have tried there will be no looking back 😜 definitely a course for me to do online too 🥰
Jane is right. Do the scary thing! You might just find it is not scary at all, on the contrary, it is rather easy and fun! And if it really isn´t for you, you can always say "I tried", which sounds so much better than "I don´t dare", don´t you think?
All the best,
Su
