Jay Bala me too. The first time I actually heard the Rocky theme I couldn't believe someone wrote something so powerful so inspirational and so memorable still great after 40 some odd years.. still great to listen to today..
What was absolutely brilliant about that theme was it gave a vibe of the Roman gladiators and the coliseum, the trumpets, the fanfare while at the same time being this incredibly brilliant uplifting melody very easy to remember, very simple yet extremely powerful. I actually saw Rocky in the theaters when it first opened in 1976 and people were actually doing pushups in the aisles when it was over, that's how incredibly affecting that movie was, just an incredibly incredibly powerful movie which to me would have never had the success it did without this music. Stallone really really lucked out getting Conti especially since they didn't really have the money to pay him. I think it was $25,000 was the music budget, and out of that he had to pay the musicians - which was an entire orchestra, he had to rent the studio, do the edits.
It is not bill conti's song, he is a charlatan. a plagiarism of Ornella vanoni's song. There has also been a court diatribe where it is bill conti has to recognize for life half of the revenue on Ornella vanoni's song. If you don't believe it, go look up the Ornella vanoni song on TH-cam: per non morire
Bill Conti also did the score for the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only, Roger Moore's personal favourite Bond picture. Not surprising, it also has one of the best scores thanks to Bill Conti. You're in for a treat if you've never heard it. Lots of cowbells and disco bass work with brass instruments. It's phenomenal. Almost a tribute to disco as the film came out right at the end of the disco scene in 1981.
it's like GOD is on stallone side. Everything, seems to clicked. Even when nobody think it's gonna be a good movie. And, sly can act in his own movie? Who would have known! :p
Why doesn't he say the song is a plagiarism of Ornella vanoni's song? They often use the fanfare at the beginning of the song in boxing matches - but is that BECAUSE of the Rocky theme? Or was that first part an existing boxing fanfare that Conti integrated into the Rocky theme? Anyone know?
We'll never get another movie theme as great and as memorable as Bill Conti's Rocky theme.
there's Ennio morricone
Only Star Wars compares. (But Rocky is the greatest.)
This gets better with age
Rocky is simply not the same movie without Bill’s brilliant legendary score.
One of the most underrated composers!!! I wish he made more music!!!
Jay Bala me too. The first time I actually heard the Rocky theme I couldn't believe someone wrote something so powerful so inspirational and so memorable still great after 40 some odd years.. still great to listen to today..
I cant tell if u guys are joking lol, this guy is one of the most famous modern composers, he created the score for heaps of famous movies.
The man is far from underrated....
"That little fight movie.." Wow, little did they know.. Much respect, Bill Conti.
I have the biggest smile on right now lol

Thank you for sharing that. I wish more movies would have people doing shit in the aisles now.
@@slicecuts21😭 4 years late but that comment still packs a punch lmaoooooo🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bill is the most unbelievable composer of his time. this song is timeless.

I could listen to the Rocky soundtrack for 24 hours straight and not get sick of it
A living legend, from Paradise Alley, to Rocky, sheer class for those that know about Bill Conti

Conti's FYEO score is one of the top 5 Bond scores ever composed
It's weird how most films that are thrown together and/or have a lot of trouble being made go on to be classics.
Bill Conti = GENIUS !!!
I love you Bill Conti, you are amazing composer thanks for songs in Rocky series
Bill is right up there with the best.
This man is absolutely phenomenal.
an unequaled and inspirational timeless 20th century composer 👏
"Bill, give me about a minute and a half's worth of music."

Time and time again we see that legendary stuff - is rarely planned in an office. It comes from a few geniuses here and there.
1:06 man bill conti really wants to get across that rocky was a loser.

Rocky Theme can cure what ails you! 😄✨❤️✨🎹🔔
That's the truth!
Bro was getting underpaid for creating literally the most inspirational and motivational soundtrack of all time? WTF?
No other theme can beat Rocky
Listen to his score for F.I.S.T. One of the great movie themes of all time. Stallone's film directly after ROCKY.
Mark Silverman yeah that is an awesome score as well.
Loved his music
I LOVE U Bill !!!...you're a GENIUS !!!

great 👏👏👏👏👏
Ciao Bill , sei grande !
Is there a name for the fanfare at the beginning? I know it’s a pre-existing piece.
I want to know the song title in the movie: a man,a woman, and a bank ( a very big withdrawal)1979 ?
This man is genius..... end of
I give anything for half his genius.
The words didn't write themselves. My mom co-wrote them. She's turning 80 in July.
Like Jerry Goldsmith this guy should have got fame too
Nice!!
master
I hit the like button.
Master
Good one.
Bill Conti's Best Scores are
Rocky (1976)
The Karate Kid (1984)
The Right Stuff (1983)
And Broadcast News (1987)
..and don't forget he wrote the theme song to the "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"
They often use the fanfare at the beginning of the song in boxing matches - but is that BECAUSE of the Rocky theme? Or was that first part an existing boxing fanfare that Conti integrated into the Rocky theme? Anyone know?
Because of Rocky
👏🏾🤍✨
No only was rocky a loser, but Bill thought themovie was to UNTILL, HIS WIFE SAID. you know that little boxer movie
Movies or Music
The same thing
Bill has a penchant for plagiarism, he stole motifs from other composers and placed it in Rocky. Check out Elide Suligoj 's 'E Cosi Per Non Morire'
Well I took you up on it and I gotta say this: If Conti, John Williams, and Jimmy Page got in a fight, who would win?
