She is one of my favorite character and she suffered so much with her little brother. She suffered when she was in her own tribe yet she still in secretly save Jiang Cheng, Wei ying, Lan zhan and Shijie. But after finally free from the evil Sect leader Wen, the other tribes still trying to killed all the remaining innocent people left. Again she and Wen ning suffered. Only Wei ying and Lan zhan were there to support them. They face non stop torturing and only can kept running away. In the end only Wen ning and little A yuan finally find peace and hope they will live happily together. As they are the last Wen's tribe left.
For a moment in the drama I really thought Jian Cheng would ask her to marry him in order to protect her. It made me sad that he couldnt be brave enough. She probably would have rejected him, though, but still.
As far as I understood, he did ask her. He said he can protect her, meaning that she will change the clans by marrying him. But she rejected him, because this way, he could only safe her, not her brother or the others.

Another instance of this (kind of) happening is in the lyrics of Xue Yang's song. The direct translation of a line was "ascend into a sea of stars" with the words 星辰 (xing chen) meaning “a sea of stars." It is a homonym for Xiao Xingchen (晓星尘)’s name. The line can also be interpreted as “Xing Chen has ascended into heaven." Hope everything makes more sense, you can find a lot of this stuff on the MDZS wiki!

So. I heard that they initially wanted wen qing to be wwx's love interest. I'm glad they decided not to do that since that would've been incredibly unnecessary and stupid. One reason why I loved her and wwx's relationship especially in the burial mounds is because wwx really missed his shijie and in a way wen qing's presence filled that void for him. So I was shook when I found out that there was supposed to be romantic undertones there lmao. I really liked that scene where I think A-yuan asked why wwx was always sad and wen qing told him it was because he really missed his shijie. I liked how it seemed like wwx was looking at wen qing as a replacement for his shijie and how wen qing looked at wwx as a replacement for wen ning (before he woke up).
For the Drama: To be honest wwx didn’t really understand couple relationships in my mind - so he viewed her as a companion. I think the same could be said about Wen Qing. I wouldn’t have minded them going into a physical relationship - cause in the end I know she’s going to die, and I don’t think it would effect wwx any differently emotionally.
There were a lot of rumours about that though despite of how much I tried to search, I never came across with actual proof they were changing the script and going for that route. Wei Wuxian never considered Wen Qing as a sister but he respected her, just he didn't know how some aspects of her could be similar to Jiang Yanli until those flashbacks with her. So going for a romantic route between Wei Wuxian and Wen Qing would had been somewhat gross or crude because it would had painted Wei Wuxian as having a sister complex and... yikes... Also it would had been contradicting with how later on is made clear that a relationship between siblings is not well seeing; Plus the fact of how there were already from some small but many nuances since the beginning that something could happen between Jiang Chen and Wen Qing. Like since that moment Wei Wuxian joked around the type of girl Jiang Chen was interested on, and... some of those descriptions could fit Wen Qing, and from there she helping him out to find Wei Wuxian when he was going to get ambushed. Slowly building a sense of trust for Jiang Chen towards Wen Qing, to the point of her accepting and safeguarding that comb he gave her. All this long way before Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian became truly friends.
Women with strong characters in Wuxia Chinese drama, Shi Jie, Wen qing and don't forgot Mian mian. Most Chinese drama I watched were all displayed a weak fragile women character except "The untamed", "Guardian" ( Zhang Ruo Nan - snake tribe) and "Ice Fantasy" (Li Luo - Envoy from human tribe). That's why there three are my favorite drama ever. Especially "The untamed". Hope there will be sequel for this drama.

Wen Qing was such a wonderful character. She did so much to try to protect Wen Ning. It was always just really unfortunate positions she was put in because of the Wen clan leader.
It's beautiful how wen Qing and wei ying could understand each other and helped each other in the most desperate times of their life. Wei ying saved wen ning and wen qing saved Jiang Cheng and they both risked all they had to do so! While they were not that much close. Every one in this drama fought for one they loved and was close to them but these two had no relationship and still risked their life for each other just out of humanity! That was the most precious thing about their bond.

I’ve rewatched the show 3 times and each time still hoping Wen Qing somehow survived and made a surprise appearance at the end. She deserves so much better :(
Her life is miserable. From seeing her father and other family being slaughtered by the Dancing Peri to being treated badly by the Wen Leader and then prosecution of all the clans to her, her sibling, and her remaining family. She finally made choice to surrender just to save A-xian as she knows that he still has to live for. Wen Qing neber had a love interest as she always busy with looking for her sibling. It's so powerful that she surrender herself andher sibling just to save the person who stand with them. In my opinion, the remaing Wens had no regrets when they surrendered. Because finally, they have felt to be cared for, protected, and shield by a leader. No one ever did it for them, only A-xian
I find it amazing how her character was portrayed to be so likeable, when most (not all) female characters without amazing combat display or cunning intelligence are often disliked by audiences throughout history of dramas. Props to the writer, director, & actress for Wen Qing
two comments to make: first - we stan strong older sisters that protect their younger brothers! second - i haven't got too far into the drama yet, so I didn't realize there were romantic undertones between jiangchen and wen qing. ugh, Jiangchen would be a favorite too if he could stop his whole "me against the world" attitude

She act tough in front of everyone cuz she has to. She needed to. But, she's weak. She's soft. She also need someone to protect her. It's all thanks to Wei Ying. They never felt loved and protected. It's all what they ever asked for. And so when Wei Ying was put into danger where he will be exiled if they won't turn themselves. Even if its hard, they turned themselves just to protect the person who actually protected them. Wen Qing would always protect his lil bro but this time, she accepted the fate that they have. She accepted it all. And so did the others. They died with content in their hearts.

Wen Qing suffered so much. I was scared as hell of A-Ning's death because I knew that would be beyond Wen Qing's pain resistance. Her love towards her brother was so strong.
I've read all 3 of MXTX's works and I love all 3 of them but MDZS will forever be special. All the female characters in MDZS are so well-written and likeable. When I first watched MDZS, like many others, I thought Jiang Yan Li was the best Shi Jie in the world. She still is, but now that I've read the book I've come to realised that Wen Qing is so underrated, she should also be dubbed as the best Shi Jie in the world. Wen Qing risked her own life and her family's safety in order to save WWX and Jiang Cheng during the war. Wen Ning was Wen Qing's whole world but she willingly sacrificed herself and her brother's life in order to help WWX redeem himself in the eyes of the other clans (and she did so knowing that it was probably a futile attempt). I love Wen Ning so much he's so precious, but whether it was under WWX's control or whether Wen Ning himself lost control, in the end the fact still remains that he did murder many innocent people. BUT WEN QING, Wen Qing never did anything wrong from the start. To have her life end this way truly saddens me. On to the other female characters - Jiang Yan Li may have a weak disposition, but she displayed so much courage and strength when she chose to sacrifice herself for WWX, fully knowing that she'd be leaving her child behind. And let's not forget A-Qing! Our feisty little faux blind girl who did everything she could to save XXC from Xue Yang, even in death. Last but not least, Mian Mian, the woman who was willing to go so far as to forsake the status she worked so hard for in her clan, just to repay a moment of kindness from WWX.

I wanted to slap Cheng so hard when he accepted that comb back. All that was going through my head was: "You imbecile! She's the reason you're still breathing! Her, Wen Ning and Wei Wuxian are the only reason you're alive and still have your golden core. And you're just going to abandon them all?" I had a lot of sympathy for him, up until this point. Not anymore. He's way too focused on keeping his place instead of doing what's right.

Wuxian sacrifice everything for him to the point that he give his half of gc to him so the wen siblings but he only paid it with wrath and unfair judgement. I love EVERYTHING about this greatest story but I cant help it, I will be forever salty (and hurt) about the fact that wen qing and the wen community of elders died, they deserved to finally live in peace, they were such good people and gave wuxian a family and good memories, when I figured out ah yuan survived thanks to wanji I really cried, at least he and wen ning made it... I miss wen qing so much...

Yeah, i'm so happy all the women in this drama are damn awesome.
Also, the princess Bian from Ashes of love is pretty good. All the women in that show (esp the floral clan) are pretty bad ass.

Her life is miserable. From seeing her father and other family being slaughtered by the Dancing Peri to being treated badly by the Wen Leader and then prosecution of all the clans to her, her sibling, and her remaining family. She finally made choice to surrender just to save A-xian as she knows that he still has to live for. Wen Qing neber had a love interest as she always busy with looking for her sibling. It's so powerful that she surrender herself andher sibling just to save the person who stand with them.
In my opinion, the remaing Wens had no regrets when they surrendered. Because finally, they have felt to be cared for, protected, and shield by a leader. No one ever did it for them, only A-xian

关于温情这个人物，我觉得江澄貌似是一开始喜欢过她，而且他们姐弟还救过江澄的命，如果江澄也像蓝湛一样无畏无惧，像温宁一样知恩图报，那温情也不会落得被挫骨扬灰的结局，江澄的顾虑太多了
其实原著不是这样的，原著里温情小姐姐只是个可怜善良的配角，电视剧里可能为了增加看点，所以加了这么一段莫名其妙的感情线进去
演温情的演员带资进组，想加戏插足忘羡，让江澄也喜欢她，剧组被书粉骂怕了，然后腾讯出手收回了剪辑权，删了她很多戏重拍，仅保留了江澄这一小段感情戏，原著里江澄和温情根本没有感情戏，剧版害江澄背了忘恩负义的锅。她的人品也有点问题，很多令牌都不喜欢孟子义，所以花絮几乎看不到她。
原著江澄根本對温情沒有感覺好嗎，，

two comments to make: first - we stan strong older sisters that protect their younger brothers! second - i haven't got too far into the drama yet, so I didn't realize there were romantic undertones between jiangchen and wen qing. ugh, Jiangchen would be a favorite too if he could stop his whole "me against the world" attitude

She act tough in front of everyone cuz she has to. She needed to. But, she's weak. She's soft. She also need someone to protect her. It's all thanks to Wei Ying. They never felt loved and protected. It's all what they ever asked for. And so when Wei Ying was put into danger where he will be exiled if they won't turn themselves. Even if its hard, they turned themselves just to protect the person who actually protected them. Wen Qing would always protect his lil bro but this time, she accepted the fate that they have. She accepted it all. And so did the others. They died with content in their hearts.

Wen Qing suffered so much. I was scared as hell of A-Ning's death because I knew that would be beyond Wen Qing's pain resistance. Her love towards her brother was so strong.
I've read all 3 of MXTX's works and I love all 3 of them but MDZS will forever be special. All the female characters in MDZS are so well-written and likeable.
When I first watched MDZS, like many others, I thought Jiang Yan Li was the best Shi Jie in the world. She still is, but now that I've read the book I've come to realised that Wen Qing is so underrated, she should also be dubbed as the best Shi Jie in the world. Wen Qing risked her own life and her family's safety in order to save WWX and Jiang Cheng during the war. Wen Ning was Wen Qing's whole world but she willingly sacrificed herself and her brother's life in order to help WWX redeem himself in the eyes of the other clans (and she did so knowing that it was probably a futile attempt). I love Wen Ning so much he's so precious, but whether it was under WWX's control or whether Wen Ning himself lost control, in the end the fact still remains that he did murder many innocent people. BUT WEN QING, Wen Qing never did anything wrong from the start. To have her life end this way truly saddens me.
On to the other female characters - Jiang Yan Li may have a weak disposition, but she displayed so much courage and strength when she chose to sacrifice herself for WWX, fully knowing that she'd be leaving her child behind. And let's not forget A-Qing! Our feisty little faux blind girl who did everything she could to save XXC from Xue Yang, even in death. Last but not least, Mian Mian, the woman who was willing to go so far as to forsake the status she worked so hard for in her clan, just to repay a moment of kindness from WWX.
