    Hi:i have problems lob the ball high enough to pass my opponent. I am wondering for the topspin lob, i should use semi-western grip rather than the traditional continental grip, right? i know you mentioned it, i just want get your confirmation. thanks! i am looking forward to your reply.

      Western, semi-western, or eastern grip will work but you should be in your normal forehand grip (whatever that is for you), definitely not in continental for a topspin lob.

    Brady, could you explain a little about the difference between the top spin lob and the buggy whip forehand?; it seems to me they both have a similar racquet drop and trajectory but the resulting shot is quite different.

      Not really an apples-to-apples comparison as one is a stroke (buggy-whip) and one is a result (lob). For example you could hit a topspin lob with a buggy-whip forehand stroke, but you can also hit a deep ball or and angle with it as well. Hope this makes sense.

    Hi there, I was wondering if you could do a similar video, but for the Backhand Side's Topspin Lob? Thank you.

    It seems like you were using the buggy-whip finish at the end.

      Definitely, nice observation. To get extra spin you can have a little bit of a buggy whip follow through on this. Just be sure you get it over their head!

    Hi!! I followed all your technique instruction but my its always long... Sometimes I'm lucky it lands inside the court but still very close to the baseline. Any idea why? (Sorry I dont have video of my shots..) thanx a lot and more power.

      You probably need more topspin and possibly more racket speed to get it. If you're getting the height you need on your lob you simply need more topspin to bring it back down into the court.

    Is the grip for regular lob different?

    • @DailyTennisLesson
      @DailyTennisLesson  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can lob either out of your standard grip, which would be an offensive lob, or out of continental, which is typically a defensive lob.

    Good mechanics explanation, but every lob looked long.
