That intro is epic! Love your videos my friend. Never stop searching for the details 🔍
Beautiful rocks!!! Thanks!!!
The fossil seems to be Mac and cheese petrified! 🤪
thank you !
Another great video friend!
doing the prospecting, trying to find new spots, paying the dues but its kinda the fun part to , I'm sure you get it ; ) happy hunting !
At the 25:24 on the left side you can see a color shift like opal so beautiful. the tubes make me think fossilized coral or crinoid stems, Thanks for bringing us Nate
Wow, that's a creek of many formations! Your Saturnal interlude gave me one of those shivery feelings I get when thinking about the origins of the elements in the universe and how amazing it is that we humans came to be in the midst of it. And here we are holding in our hands and appreciating the details it has forged over millions of years. Thanks, Nate 🪐
the more I look , and see the connections, and see the intricate immensity of the branching cause and effect of the details, the more I see somehow a great plan unfolding ..... a universe of beauty, a planet that holds life, and us here on it, to witness that whole universe....let us not waste the gift.
@@QuestForDetails Absolutely. ❤
Hey, great finds :) ! Check 31:07 pause it, is that a green gemstone in that? You gotta go back to that spot and find more that was so cool!
I'm feeling something good out there , a strike of some sort, just don't know what, but going back for sure !
I can't wait to see what you find :)
Beautiful little river of rocks! Love the way that the sun shines thru the gills of the 'shroom. Looks like a nice chunk of agate? I get kinda silly over siliceousness, hehe! Thanks for sharing the details!

Great to see your face finally...just love your peaceful voice and your videos
Knoxville area is a gem!!!!!! You can camp a mile of the road most places I have seen mountain lions bears and a pine Martin!!! By buck island east going towards rumsey on 4x4 trail not many angry ranchers 😁 but you don't go in without being noticed!!!! And if you keep walking past Zim Zim to the east on the mountain tops I found brown opal spend all day looking and only going aspect a small spec of yellow fire nothing much just enough to drive me crazy I went up there 4-5 times a year for 10 years only a spec and the only reason I was up there was to look for lake county diamonds there is none 😞 that I found just great memories!
If you are new to the channel go look at all the lake county diamonds that have been found on the quest. The original questers have a nice collection and had a few faceted.

Gem Hill in Rosemond, Ca is a great place for common green opal and agates. A huge vain of common opal.

Man I wished I lived out there so bad!! I've got 2 feet of snow out my window right now and it's going to be another 3 months before I can get back out in nature! I'm dying to go rock hounding and metal detecting! Hopefully by next year I'll convince my gf to move out there... Thanks for the video!
I took a big tall vase and put a smaller same height vase inside it and put my finds in taller vase and put lights inside smaller..
What a wonderful idea, ty
Yw
awesome !! sounds great!! and dust proof ; )
I love watching your adventures
You found Crinoids! They were around about 300 mil years before the dinosaurs showed up. So your looking at an age of >300mil years. Wish I lived closer to your neck of the woods so I could be so lucky. Thanks for the videos!
Audrey Knight wow!!! How lucky!!!
thank you for the info ! ; )
Just found your videos! Thanks for a magical hunt. 😍
Hang in there Nate you're still put out quality videos everyone is out doing things that they have not been able to do for a while keep up the good work they'll be back plus more you have the best channel out here!
If you ever find your way over this away I'll show you some wild places but it will take more then a hop, skip, and a jump to get here!
Keep up the good work and be safe out there!
That was the most extra intense over the top intro... but im so hooked now
If you want to walk the most beautiful creek bed in the world you should go to Banning California. It's about 25 miles west of Palm Springs. It's off of San Gorgonio. You will not be able to leave the area once you go there. I have never seen such beautiful rocks. I spent weeks and weeks there when I first moved here. Beyond incredible. Major variety.
thank you for that tip, I must go and see!
@@QuestForDetails You will end up spending a great deal of time there. Every kind of rock you can imagine as well as rocks with designs. It's so incredibly beautiful you will not want to leave it. I think when you actually see it it will be way beyond your expectations. Directions: Eastbound 10 towards Palm Springs. In the city of Banning exit 8th street.Turn left. At stop light turn right on Ramsey. Make a left on San Gorgonio. Drive up San Gorgonio about a mile and a half to 2 miles. You will pass a cemetary on the left. Continue past cemetary. You will come upon a dirt road crossing the wash to a gun range. You can stop here but I would suggest going on another half mile. Believe it or not you will have the entire place to yourself. I never had anyone come there any time I was there ( I was there a lot) and it's less than a mile out of town. I guess people don't like rocks as much as I do. Also it's an awesome place to find driftwood. Great pieces. I haven't been back up there since we had the last big rain so there should be penty of new drift wood that has come down. I doubt you will find any water in the wash as they have a dam further up. If there is water it will only be a little trickle towards the middle. I can't wait to see your reaction to the place and hear how many times you say wow, look at this. It's not heaven but you can see it from there.
@@QuestForDetails One other thing. There are mountain lions in the area. I never saw them but I did see tracks. Also take a walking stick so you can wiggle it around the rocks before you step on or over There are rattlesnakes but I only saw one.
Thank you, I saved the info , thats really nice of you, I appreciate new bcuketlisters! it feeds the wanderlust ! Quest On !!
@@QuestForDetails I don't know anyone who enjoys looking at rocks as much as I do. I call them rocks but it is way more than that. I brought some sand home from up there to do a little panning just to see what I might find (there's a lot of black sand) and they are very tiny but they look like perfectly cut ruby's. Just the most beautiful red. And they all seem to be in the same shape. So if there are tiny little pieces like that there must be bigger pieces somewhere around there. I spent 5 days a week there for about 3 months because I wanted to collect "rocks" for my yard. It was a lot of work physically but I enjoyed it. And I only covered about 1 square mile of area. I promise you, you won't regret going there. When you do your video I would appreciate if you said what your first impression was. Always glad to share something I enjoy so much. You will be so lost in looking that 8 hours will go by as though you just got there. Godspeed on your journey.
We don't need you getting hurt we need you to keep making these nice videos
Petrified Mac & cheese rock!
I really enjoy watching your channel. I’ve learned a lot. I was recently house boating on Lake Shasta and found different rocks. Found a few with crystals. Have you ever thought of doing a show on Lake Shasta. It’s amazing how with a low water level you can really see different types of rock and color. Not that I really know what they are.
That's stone age pasta rock! Yum
i hope you put on safety glasses when using the rock hammer. fun coming along today. thanks for taking us. please post credits for published (copyrighted) sound compositions used, even if you do so in the footer of your header comments, friend.
I always put credit at the end for tracks that require attribution, and any info I can in general, a lot of the music is pieced together from iMovie editing ,and so has no individual listings to reference as they are considered sound effects at that point, with iMovie being the source.and here and there is original music ( it would be rock or acoustic) I mix in original material of my own ; ) thank you ; )
My family used to camp near mineral town back in the 70's and 80's, camped on battle Creek a lot, fished for trout, at the time we lived in Happy Valley
sounds like good times ! ; )
4:40 might be petrified palm the tubes look like a palm trees roots and some of my friends say it can be found commonly
Those tubes look like undersea things. Old ones....
they are from the sandstone layers that were sea floor, its the last ridges east before the great valley ; )
Quest for Details
Thank you.
14:12 looks like lace agate
thank you !
@@QuestForDetails you really did find some nice specimens. I too was 9n the watch for another cat lying in wait, so glad it didnt happen again.
So what was that bone with serrated edges?
sorry ,turtle shell ,lol
The first rock you picked up was a fossil if crinoids. Hope you kept it.
thank you for the info, I did keep it, and I think it was the clue I was looking for, but can't find any more, for now . ; ) thanks for watching !
Look at Matt’s Crazy Art channel to see ways to wrap those Lake diamonds that you harvest. I just found it!
Those dreaded tubes! I had similar. I thought it was biological. It was then that I learned about tufa and tufa tubes. I'm still uncertain if mine is biological or tufa.
with the fossils ,like the mushrooms just can't be sure unless your an expert so I just don't risk guessing, but the layer is sedimentary oceanic layers uplifted.
Where ccan I get a hoodie like the one you are wearing? do you sell gear? Black tee with a silver QUEST FOR DETAILS would be really attractive.
coming soon ....!!! thanks for noticing !
Make sure to spray your clothes with permethrin. Lot's of lyme disease in CA especially coastal.
That whole basin was fossils
its at the base of the largest uplift of seafloor sedimentary layers in my area, .....but its an huge area, going back soon !
Can u pleease puy what u are finding in each video please
