basically to explain what the hell the bad ending mod even is, monika is essentially locked out of her own game after visiting hating sim, in the normal doki doki takeover mod she is somehow able to get past the ‘lock’ and return to her game to save bf and gf, however the ‘bad end’ mod is based on what would have happened if monika wasn’t able to break through.

I think Yuri's is the best version yet. It's dark, creepy, and absolutely catchy. Definitely captures her character. And using the DDLC soundtrack with a dark twist was a great idea! Although since Yuri's my, I could just be biased. But yeah, taking the horror aspect of DDLC was definitely the smart way to go
Yeah, Markov's my favorite as well. It really plays into both her obsessive nature and the deeper, more symbolic meanings she likes to put into her poems, especially with the Egyptian leitmotifs in a couple sections of the song.
Markov is pretty good, but home is my favorite, just hits different

just noticed during the first song during that notebook looking part with Sayori and BF that the Sick, Good, and Bad have been replaced with Happy, Keep It Together, and Suicidal, nice touch. Also gotta be honest Natsuki's song made me full on cry, especially when GF just suddenly died and BF lost it, looked like he was trying to rip his own heart out X(

with your monika theory, there isnt any way she could or would do that.
the mod is based on act 4, after you delete monika, and she had a change of heart. she also couldnt even access the game, as shown in the first cutscene

For Natsuki's eye's popping out after the intro to her song, the jumpscare it references happens when you complete Natsuki's route in Act One and then start Yuri's in Act Two

That's the biggest issue with them deciding not to just include this as an update to the original mod. It just makes no sense for them to have separated them
Well this is an alternate universe where things went wrong, it makes sense to be a completely different mod. It wouldn't fit in the original mod, but I do think I remember there will be an update to the original.

@@VBandit47 that was possible, yeah, but I think they would want to keep an *_alternate universe_* different from the actual mod. The story in the bad ending is not the actual story, and thus wouldn’t fit in the main mod.
@@Disearned It's not an alternate universe, it's an alternate ending; literally everything else in the story up until that point is the exact same, so making it slightly more inconvenient to acess right after the main story makes no sense. I mean, to use your own logic, epiphany is outside the main story as well. Should they have made a separate mod for that single song?
Epiphany is a secret song that was made from a different monika, yes. That, however, doesn’t give a different story.
Also, alternate endings and alternate universes are basically the same thing, as they basically make the same outcomes happen. Alternate universes do not need to be super different to be considered as so.
If I remember correctly, the devs decided to have it a separate mod from the beginning to separate it from the main story. It also wouldn’t make sense with DDTO+ also being in progress.

I think yuri's song was the best in my opinion.The screen covering,the kool-aid at the end of the song,the detail's.And the way she was in the closet oml.But her laugh was amazing.
The free play select words are what made the characters snap or are related like stagnant meaning being dull and sluggish like what depressed people feel, home obviously being where natsuki feels fear and where she suffers and what she speaks about before her little Jumpscare or whatever you’d call it and markov being the book yuri read and made her go extremely insane

Stagnant was called that because Yuri says that in the actual game once Sayori left early, the song was originally planned to be called Sunshine but the name has been used already so yeah.

Basically Monika realised things were wrong in DDLC so she tried to go back and fix things like how she does in original takeover, but in this version she can’t get back so everything goes wrong and that leads to the death of the DDLC girls and BF and GF, no clue what happens to Monika tho
Luckily this isn’t the last time we’ll see ddto since there’s an update supposed to be coming up that adds costumes and songs! (It’ll be a continuation of the base ddto not bad ending I think)

There's actually a secret in Epiphany where if you die by the Notes Of Markov, You will get jumpscared, and the game will crash, but that rarely happens. If you try to find this secret, There is only one thing i can say to you: Don't give up. Also if you already know about this secret, I'm just saying it so Bijuu Mike knows about this.
Something I realised is that in the ending art, all the girls are dead and Boyfriend is the only one alive, yet when the program is terminated it says that everyone including Boyfriend cannot be found, implying that he offed himself in the aftermath.
It looks like yuri has a bit of control cause in some of her sprites she frowns means she can control herself a bit
they did a good job on making yuri look insane like how her character is, and all the different camera and scenery changes make the mod look amazing

Stagnant
Sayori tries to keep everything normal. Monika thinks she fixed everything but realises she didn’t. Everything fails resulting in Sayori dying again.
Markov
Yuri joined after Sayori so Yuri becomes president but since she’s gone crazy she can’t control herself and ends up killing herself
Home
Then Natsuki becomes president. Because of her father, she tries to keep everything normal but realises she can do anything to her father but while she thinks that she stops controlling things and then things go down hill
After she got her face back she got power hungry and rips her eyes out and tries to corrupt BF.
After she realises BF won’t get corrupted Natsuki pretends to be a bit more normal and kills GF resulting in BF getting corrupted because he stopped resisting. Monika thinks she fixes it after everything seems fine but at the end everyone but BF dies and Monika terminates the program hoping it would fix everything and after she knows it failed she cries.

I recommend Doki Doki Summertime. It’s a really fun mod & I would love to see you play it!! In the mod, it’s like if you said no to going to the literature club! If you get all the special endings, you earn a secret ending! It’s pretty hard at first but gets easier once you know which words to pick. Also, if you set your name as MC, there’s something special that will happen 🤫
