No other boss fight in any of the Mega Man games feels so alive and action-packed as this one. Its fast pace and the unpredictability of Omega’s attacks is something unique for a Mega Man game. Every time I’ve fought Omega, I’ve felt as if I was Vent himself fighting with the aid of Model ZX or OX
i agree with you. megaman zero 3 and zx are my favorite games just because i really love fighting omega. i cant get enough of it. even if i loose i always come back to fight him once more.

And reminder that this game was released on the GBA so fighting omega with that ugly ass control layout. I think they had to dumb him down because of that and not because of limitations.

Omega's data disc entry explains that this enemy is a data anomaly left over from Omega's bitterness at losing to Zero. Model W's power infused it with enough energy to take on this form and battle. Afterwards, the strange rock contains this anomaly.

There are 3 reasons omega is much stronger on ZX in comparison to megaman Zero, the first is that his fight in zero 3 is a 3 boss gauntlet, and making omega too strong would be a hellish challenge, the second is that this omega in Zx isn't the real one, he's just a memory of the battle he had against zero, making him MUCH weaker than the real one but still overwhelming against biometal users, and the third reason is because Zero was much stronger than the biometal Ciel made from his remains, and even so, its impossible to achieve 100% of the strength their original bodies had in lore, Omega's biometal is more of an easter egg than anything
He has done that to me so many times, I fought him so many times in the past, he actually tends to do that double kind of attacks with every move he has.
Model Ox is a biometal so powerful that he could use the megamerge to become Omega... He could defeat others in battle but not his own doppelganger... Ironic
@@zxq2370 I don't mean it canonically. I mean that one of the foot equipment he gains mid-game let's him dodge almost any attack during a grounded dash. And that is pretty broken. I can almost get by any stages without a scratch once the "shadow-dash" foot chip is equipped. Then if you beat the secret boss Phantom, you get a foot chip that gives you access to all the foot chips you currently have. That's like, dash through attacks and enemies, double jump, jump on water and slide resistant all in one package. That's why I say Zero is at his strongest in 3.
I mean the history of Omega’s body isn’t a short one. Made by a dying Doctor in a lab, ripped the shreds to be rebuilt and turned against the Maverick Hunters, torn apart during the fight against their best friend, hidden and repaired BY THEMSELF, then sealed away for years, got redesigned and upgraded, and only THEN does it get stolen for Omega, who is then defeated, BUT THEN lingers as a memory/ghost for Vent/Aile to defeat and turn into a Biometal. The new Reploid Metals are strong, but they weren’t built to be THE strongest like Zero was. The purpose in making him was to be greater than none other, and that he achieves.

This is pretty much what the Omega fight in MMZ3 was meant to be, but couldn't be because of the limitations of the GBA. Plus, Omega's has 50+ years to stew in anger and learn how to use Zero's body properly rather than just using his big, bulky body.
I think the best moment in this is at 0:31 where Omega uses whatever that rising slash move is called, misses, and then the player does the same move and _just_ hits Omega with the tip of it.
To this day I still don’t know why I love the sound of omega when he hits his triple slash “teh,ha,hu!”...I only noticed recently that he actually speeds up the timing of his slashes if he tries to hit you for a second time with his triple because your too close to him when he whiffs the first.
I remember this fight, it was my first time playing ZX and I've never played the Zero games(until after). Had a genuine love for exploring and I came across this dude and he beat my ass for the better part of that weekend. He was so confusing that I just HAD to go and play the earlier installments to really appreciate the franchise.
The first MegaMan game I ever played was this one, and I can remember coming across this god of destruction and I spent like an entire week trying and playing every day to finally beat him. I felt like I conquered life and I thought they were gonna give me his powers but they didn't, so I started looking around and eventually went to investigate on TH-cam. I saw several videos, long story short my file was in easy mode ☠️ I had to beat him and the entire game in a harder difficulty to get him and I found out that I had to beat him and the entire game in a even hardest difficulty which was the hardest one, TWO TIMES to unlock the model x which was the first model you get that dissapears after the fusion with the model z. So the next time you start a new game file you will keep the model x after the fusion... But... Oh yeah, you still need to have the model ox so you have to beat the entire game A THIRD TIME, ON HARD, to finally get the mf and have all the biometals. So yeah, you are right, I fucking gave up after being stuck with the green bird guy on my normal difficulty run that I started just to get model ox, and he was my first boss of that run.
This is possibly the fight i've replayed the most in any game I've ever played. The adrenaline rush I get when facing this guy still holds true to me even 1 year later. Having to constantly dodge, counter, and hit him with the right moves at the right time feels amazing.
OX cannot charge the saber in Overdrive because as the Biometal is based on Omega possessing the original body of Zero, it plays like Zero in the X series, who can only perform triple-slash combos and not charge his saber; it is also the reason why OX stops walking or dashing when attacking, which makes me wonder if the "hyperslashing" in TAS runs could be done with that Biometal.

Holly Findlay when I played this game a few years back I noticed that if you hit down on the d pad at a certain point in the three hit combo as ox overdrive he would do a quick downward slash rather than the lightning slash that can follow up with another three hit combo giving the player a chance to do a extended combo this could be a glitch but if done right he can pull that 7 hit combo
Gardewolf with practice anyone could do this, I no hitted mmz3 omega so it's possible, how I beat mmz3 omega without the shadow dash boot chip? Learn where you can and cannot be with omega attacks, then prioritize blaster shots and the ocasional splitting heavens/ryujin when omega does the same, also mid-air charge saber attacks allows alot of dmg and a retreat option when done, also use handeki for quick long decent-damaging range attacks if you know he cannot rush attack you
An example of the ryujin attack is at 0:30 Edit: getting behind omega and using ryujin like at 1:19 also is safe, if you can predict his moments into a ryujin that is.

I remember playing this game a lot, so much I even beat the game 2 times on hard and unlock everything with both characters, and the way you fight zero reminds me of me. I fight omega a lot and end up trying to kill him the most cool way possible and withouth getting a single hit.

@@kittijuju Yes, and the bosses will constantly try to get hit in their own weak spot. Their weak spot is usually the most likely spot to get hit if you were to shoot randomly (such as the middle of their body).

How so? The game never punishes you. If you Lv. 4 bosses, the game rewards you with more LME. If you fail the first time, they’ll revive themselves (since they’re psuedoroids) and you can try again. The game *rewards* you for doing well. If you’re willing to spend some E-Crystals, you don’t have to get Lv. 4’s either. It’s not punishing you for upgrading, you’re rewarded with upgrades for doing well. The bosses having easy to hit weak spots is part of the challenge, would it be better to make it a cakewalk and therefore let you use overdrive to effortlessly destroy everything? No, that’s why the system exists in the first place. It makes you try instead of abusing your forms. The Zero series awarded you for not cheesing the games with elves by giving you higher ranks and in turn EX Skills. At least that’s more in like with punishment because you’re hurt for using elves but even then that’s not your main form of upgrades because you still have weapon leveling, forms, chips, etc.
@@amso7169 It's not even that hard to avoid the weak points. Almost every boss has an attack that makes them vulnerable to damage without exposing their weak point. For example, the boss in Area F just shoot her in the lower side of her body or just shoot her in the mouth when she tries to eat you with the big fish. And the drill boss can't be hit in the weakpoints while he's tunneling down the ground. Just wait for him to do the digging animation and you can hit him safely with the buster 99% of the time.
Am I the only one here who thinks Model OX is a hint to ZX Advent's A-Trans? Model OX looks exactly like Omega Zero and ZXA's A-Trans make you look exactly like boss characters

Learn where you can and cannot be with omega attacks, then prioritize blaster shots and the ocasional splitting heavens/ryujin when omega does the same, also mid-air charge saber attacks allows alot of dmg and a retreat option when done, also use handeki for quick long decent-damaging range attacks if you know he cannot rush attack you
An example of the ryujin attack is at 0:30
Edit: getting behind omega and using ryujin like at 1:19 also is safe, if you can predict his moments into a ryujin that is.
Also never, and I mean NEVER use dash attack on omega, sure may hit but you will touch him and get hurt unless you use it as a finisher

I had no idea you can immediately combo into other attacks as if there are ending lags in the timeframes of Ox's attacks.
I remember when I first got here I was very excited cause "that's why he doesn't look like old Zero, Omega has the old body" and then I get to Omega and... He looks nothing like the old Zero either 😑

I remember playing this game a lot, so much I even beat the game 2 times on hard and unlock everything with both characters, and the way you fight zero reminds me of me.
I fight omega a lot and end up trying to kill him the most cool way possible and withouth getting a single hit.

I hated this game. The game gives you the option to upgrade (it's how you get stronger), but if you upgrade, the game punishes you.
to be fair you can also get stronger by avoiding the weakspots of the bosses to get a lvl 4 victory
@@kittijuju Yes, and the bosses will constantly try to get hit in their own weak spot. Their weak spot is usually the most likely spot to get hit if you were to shoot randomly (such as the middle of their body).
@@michaelsong5555 you got a point there honestly. i'd argue that you should just avoid hitting the weakspots further but then i remember there's the mole guy whose name i dont even bother remembering because his weakspot is his arms which is literally 2/3rds of his entire body lmao
How so? The game never punishes you.
If you Lv. 4 bosses, the game rewards you with more LME. If you fail the first time, they’ll revive themselves (since they’re psuedoroids) and you can try again. The game *rewards* you for doing well. If you’re willing to spend some E-Crystals, you don’t have to get Lv. 4’s either.
It’s not punishing you for upgrading, you’re rewarded with upgrades for doing well. The bosses having easy to hit weak spots is part of the challenge, would it be better to make it a cakewalk and therefore let you use overdrive to effortlessly destroy everything? No, that’s why the system exists in the first place. It makes you try instead of abusing your forms. The Zero series awarded you for not cheesing the games with elves by giving you higher ranks and in turn EX Skills. At least that’s more in like with punishment because you’re hurt for using elves but even then that’s not your main form of upgrades because you still have weapon leveling, forms, chips, etc.
@@amso7169 It's not even that hard to avoid the weak points.
Almost every boss has an attack that makes them vulnerable to damage without exposing their weak point.
For example, the boss in Area F just shoot her in the lower side of her body or just shoot her in the mouth when she tries to eat you with the big fish.
And the drill boss can't be hit in the weakpoints while he's tunneling down the ground. Just wait for him to do the digging animation and you can hit him safely with the buster 99% of the time.
