That's a nice tank mate. I suppose if your an Aussie and you can't keep Asian Arowana. Sarratoga is a pretty good substitute. I'm surprised they allow Sting Ray's though
Stingrays are in the grey area over here so you can’t import them into Australia but if they kept in bred here you can keep them but laws change all the time. Unfortunately we can’t keep any gars in Queensland any more but you can keep them in other states in Australia. Because Asian arowanas are cites protected, they’re illegal to import. there are heaps of them around but they’re illegal to keep unfortunately.
Common bristlenose are also illegal to import into Australia. Hopefully they will allow the importation of Asian arowanas that are micro chipped with certificates one day but who knows…. Just need someone with a lot of money to try and get it sorted.
@@paulstingray yes it's an odd problem because it's not like your going to spend so much money on an Asian Arowana and then release it into the wild. Also it would be difficult to get a breeding population going. I keep Asian Arowana myself but I live in Jersey UK 🇯🇪.
@justinstuart8382 there’s definitely people that would release them and breed them in ponds as stupid as it sounds… but reality is goldfish and house cats would do more damage in the wild than an Asian Arowana ever would. But they can’t be banned because the average person would freak out.
@@paulstingray I'd love to live in Aus and keep tropicals I bet so much easier to heat your tanks.. I'm glad I found you (only just did) your fish room is very interesting. That catfish is massive 😳 👌
