The Prophet Muhammad had a non-believer uncle he loved him dearly, the prophet Muhammad had a Jewish neighbor he even visited him when he got ill, he married a Jewish woman named Safia he also married a Christian woman named Maria Shimon, he used to meet with Jewish and Christian leaders, this is all Mentioned in the Quran, if the prophet was a radical he wouldn't have approve to living next to a Jewish man he wouldn't have visited him at Least! When the neighbor got ill He wouldn't have married a Jewish woman or a Christian woman. He used to meet with Jewish and Christian leaders he wouldn't have approved meeting with non-Muslims if he was a Radical!?
Prophet Muhammad said:
He belongs not to us (i.e. not a true Muslim) who neither respects the elder nor shows sympathy for the younger.
He who cheats belongs not to us (i.e. not a true Muslim)
Treat women kindly.
(Relief and give good tidings to others! Avoid causing complications or disaffection)
(The most perfect believers are those who have the best manners, and the best of you are those who treat their wives kindly)
(Fear Allah wherever you are, repel evil deeds with good deeds, and treat people with good manners).
(The best of you are those who treat their wives kindly, and I am the best of you in treating my wives kindly)
(If you believe in Allah The Almighty and the Last Day, then speak just all good or keep silent)
(Shyness brings nothing but good deeds)
Abu Zur'a related that Abu Hurayra said, "A man* came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and asked, 'Messenger of Allah, what person is the most entitled to the best of my company?' He answered, 'Your mother.' He asked, 'Then whom?' He said, 'Your mother.' He asked, 'Then whom?' He said, 'Your mother. He asked, 'Then whom?' He said, 'Your father.'"
Bukhari, Chapter 81. The Book of Adab* (Good Manners), II. Who is the person most entitled to the best company?, 5626
Abu Salih related from Abu Hurayra that,
A man said to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "Advise me." He said, "Do not get angry" and repeated that several times, saying, "Do not get angry."

(Smiling on the face of your brother (i.e. others) is as rewarding as giving alms)
abdullah ibn al-harith:said:I never saw anyone who smaild more than allah's Messenger ...
the prophet said: every prophet before me was sent to his people alone ,but I have been sent to all mankind...
Allah said in the Quran...
Whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment. (93)

There are more than 100 verses in the Quran that shows tolerance and peace and the rejection of hatred toward those who don't harm us and to only fight back is self-defense …example:
Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. (8)

Muslims are ordered to be kind and peaceful and only fight in self-defense, when the initiative of attack is taken by the other party, and that's the real meaning of jihad ( it's fight in self-defense ) even so when fighting in self-defense Allah ordered the Prophet not to harm women and children, and not to corrupt the land this is all Mentioned in the Quran..

I think the hadith that is talking about not being angry is because of the person is often or always angry. So i think we can be angry, but at the right times, and use the right tone and the right words

zafthedon i disagree, simply because in Quran the same term can be used to mean one thing and something else (depending on context mainly), the true meaning takes craftsmanship in the language and thorough knowledge of the overall texts. I give example to the 'faith not attached with injustice', the companions understood it one way, but prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, explained it as another, to him (the teacher), it clearly meant idolatry (the great injustice). Another example can be found in the last chapter (The people), the term people was once used to engulf both mankind and Jin, and in another used to differentiate mankind from Jin. I hope this has help you raise the right questions and drive you to get the best answers.

It was very interesting listening to this lecture and as a Roman Catholic it gives me hope that there are Imans out there who are trying desperately to educate young and older Muslims who are losing their way or they are being pulled into a conflict they think is really in support of Islam but is in actual fact is the beginning of the dismantling of Islam.......I pray this does not happen. I would be the first to admit that my knowledge of Islam is very limited. However, if just half of what Hamza Yusuf says is true then the western public is truly being mislead on a grand scale. I just hope that the words are shared and that many read and then think of his words.

There are evidences from Quran and sunnah,
“Of the best of your days is Friday, so send blessings to me frequently on that day as your prayers are reviewed by me.”
They asked him: “How can you review our blessings after your body has decayed, O messenger of Allah?”
He said: “Allah has prohibited the earth to eat the bodies of prophets.” (Abu Dawud)
It was narrated from Abu Darda’ that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Send a great deal of blessing upon me on Fridays, for it is witnessed by the angels. No one sends blessing upon me but his blessing will be presented to me, until he finishes them.” A man said: “Even after death?” He said: “Even after death, for Allah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets, so the Prophet of Allah is alive and receives provision.’”(Sunan Ibn Majah)
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "On the night on which I was taken on the Night Journey (Al-Isra') I came to Musa, peace be upon him, at the red dune, and he was standing, praying in his grave." (Sunan an-Nasa'i)
The evidence from Quran
When We executed Our decree of death on Solomon, nothing indicated to the jinn that he was dead except a worm eating away his staff. So when Solomon fell down, the jinn realised that had they known what lies in the realm beyond perception, they would not have continued to be in this humiliating chastisement. (Surah Saba - 14)
When Suleiman as died His body remained fresh for a long time untill the staff is eaten by worm. Which is exactly what is meantioned in narrations that The bodies of the Prophets are incorruptible.
There are many scholars who mentioned this fact in their books. Some of them,
Imam Al-Suyuti, a famous Muslim scholar, in his book Al-Hawi, has stated that the life of the Prophet Muhammad and all other prophets in their graves is decisively well-known, because the evidence that support this are well-understood and established.
Another Islamic scholar, Imam Al-Bayhaqi, has actually written a whole chapter on the issue of the life of prophets in their graves.
@@islamnnuru6920 The life of the Barzakh is not the actual life that we understand of this Dunya. The fact that their bodies are not eaten is well-known yes...but it is not a proof that they are alive inside their graves [let alone to ask them for things].
Martyrs, for example, are alive with their Lord...not in the graves and they have provision from Him.
Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (radiAllahu anhu) has been clear in regards to the death of the Prophet (ﷺ) [and no Sahaba rejected his statement in the courtyard] which is found in authentic Ahadith, while the one that you have quoted from Ibn Majah is Da'if (weak).
'Aisha (radiAllahu anha) has reported:
(...) Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (radiAllahu anhu) said:
"Amma ba'du, whoever amongst you worshipped Muhammad, then MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) IS DEAD, but whoever worshipped Allah, Allah is alive and will never die.
Allah said: 'Muhammad is no more than an Apostle and indeed (many) Apostles have passed away before him ..(up to the) grateful.' " (3.144) (...)"
[REFERENCE: Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 2, Book 23, Hadith 333]

And he quoted the following verse as evidence:
Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim:
144. Muḥammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful. [Qur'an, 3:144]
BUT THERE IS ALSO THE FOLLOWING AYAH:
Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim:
30. Indeed, you [O Muhammad (ﷺ)] are to die, and indeed, they [Sahaba] are to die. [Qur'an, 39:30]
Beautiful. Everyone should listen and get guidance from our Shaykh in this talk. May Allah bless Shaykh Hamza and increase him and the rest of our ulema.

Wallah I am sorry for all the evil comments I read. I put the clip on my Facebook page for my English composition students. I assigned Bhutto's "Islam and Democracy," an essay which explains the "Frankenstein monster" created by the West (don't get mad, folks, just start reading more for your own understanding) in the Middle East. Several students said they never knew this information and they felt Bhutto was correct, that she supported her thesis very well. Alhamdullilah. I am only one little person, but I think there are others like me. We are trying to spread awareness and we cry with our scholar. May Allah have mercy on us for our massive egos and may He guide us to understanding and merciful co-existence. We seek refuge in Him from evil. Ameen.

MaShaAllah Sheikh Hamza Yusuf. I give my salam, Love and respect to you for helping me gain knowledge. At first, I thought Isis was bad because of the media but then afterwards thought they were right because of a man who gave me hadiths and says to me that they have the black flags and the Prophet said they are right and do not believe in what the media tells me etc. But after watching this I regret believing in them foolish people and I believe that Allah as now guided me through you. After listening to what a man told me about Isis I knew to turn to Allah and ask him for help and guidance, I then remembered you and typed in 'Isis Hamza Yusuf' and then watched your video knowing that you are very knowledgeable. Not only did you give proof from hadith and Quran which helped me but you also gave me a correct realisation on this subject. And yes I agree on the fact that we must let everyone be as Allah (SWT) has given us free will, but not only that but also that we shouldn't worry about unnecessary things and focus more on our deen and on becoming a better Muslim than I was yesterday. I still don't believe in the media lol and have deleted all my social media also long ago apart from Whatsapp. And I advise everyone to do the same as this has many benefits. Sorry to make this long for the person reading it but I had to explain everything accordingly. May Allah (SWT) forgive me for any mistakes I have made and may he help our whole Muslim ummah to unite and follow the true Islam. Yet again Islam is the religion of PEACE, not war! "This matter (of the Caliphate) will remain with the Quraish, and none will rebel against them, but Allah will throw him down on his face as long as they stick to the rules and regulations of the religion (Islam).'"

Jabir ibn Samura (radiAllahu anhu) said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying:
"Islam will continue to be triumphant until there have been twelve Caliphs."
Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said something which I could not understand. I asked my father: "What did he say?"
He said: "He has said that all of them (twelve Caliphs) will be from the Quraish."

In Fath-ul-Bari, Ibn Hajar (rahimatullah) related many Ahadith under the chapter:
"The Rulers (of this Nation) are from the Quraish";
he took those narrations from various kinds of Hadith compilations - which are known as "As-Sunan", "Al-Masaanid" and "Musannafat".

Dr. 'Ali Muhammad Muhammad As-Sallabi said:
"Rare, in fact, is the Hadith compilation that contains no mention of a narration that refers to Quraish's right to the Caliphate.
The wording of such narrations might differ, but they all convey the same clear and emphatic message:
In any given era, the Khalifah of the Muslim nation should be a man from the Quraish.
This ruling applies to the Caliphate only, and not to other lesser positions of leadership - positions that may be held by any qualified candidate."

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “There will appear in the end times, people who seek the Dunya with religion. In front of the people they wear clothes made of wool to give the impression of their humility, their speeches are sweeter than sugar, but their hearts are the hearts of wolves (very fond of wealth and position). Allah says, ‘Are you fooled by Me (the mercy and opportunities I give) or that you dare towards Me? By My Self, I swear. I will send down disasters from among their own on those who turn decent people into confusion so they are not able to get away from it.’” [Tirmidhi]
Indeed, the Ulama are like the stars in the heavens. It is through their hands that mankind obtains guidance. They are the ones who explain the way of guidance and the way to remain upon that guidance. It is through them that the Ummah understands the ways in which evil approaches us and how to avoid it.
However, after the spread of Fitnahs, Su’ Ulama emerge who sell the Deen to make their Dunya. Sometimes they are more eloquent and their explanations more easily accepted than those of sincere, Allah-fearing Ulama. They present bad things in the shape of goodness. They bootlick rulers and take orders from indirect colonizers for the sake of obtaining positions, ranks, influence, appreciation and the adornments of the world. Or they do it to deliberately oppose Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) and His Rasul (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam). Their trade mark is that they twist the well known principles and teachings of Islam to suit popular opinion. Thus, they are no other than the Khalifahs of Shaytan or the representatives of Dajjal.
The Sahabi Hudhaifah (radi Allahu anhu) said: “If you see an Alim at the door of the ruler, his Deen is debatable. So it is not of them [the Ulama] to take a part from their [the rulers] Dunya, except that those rulers will take from their [the Ulama’s] Deen in proportion.”
The righteous Ulama’s sacrifices are proven in the restrictions imposed upon them, the torture they suffer in jail, and the hardships they have to face living in hiding. This is not the case of the Ulama Su whose lives are filled with comforts and whose work is facilitated by governments.
