Thankyou for the video. I’m very new to spoon carving or any carving. You make it look soo easy. My wood is a hakea blank that has great colours. I have lots to learn but will be easier when my gr small hatchet arrives this week. I will eagerly watch and learn.
Thank you so much for watching! I have a lot of love for the PNW, spent the last 10 years up in Vancouver BC and would duck down to the States whenever I could👌
Maybe a year ago but, lovely bit of axe 🪓 work. And just look 👀 at the shine on the edge of that axe, shining ✨️ like a mirror and sharp as a razor. Well and truly honed and polished.
Hey Andy, thank you for your videos...they bring great inspiration into my little carving adventures and explorations...would appreciate a lot if you could make a video with continuation of working on your pocket spoon...thanks
Hi there! I will do my best to remember to film the next pocket spoon I am working on with the knives, for sure! Thank you so much for the kind words 🙂❤️
If you're axing out a bunch of blanks, and you want to store them for a short time without them drying out, how do you do it? I've heard of people putting them in a trash bag, or in the freezer, or just getting to carving them quickly.
I wrap mine in some plastic and keep them in the freezer. You can also keep them submerged in water with a little vinegar, but you will need to remember to change out the water fairly regularly
I watched it all the way through. Great work, satisfying to watch and now all I want to do you is go axe out spoons rather than make knives🤣. This is Phil VPLKnifeCo. I laughed when the axe flung the spoon off your stump. That happens to me about twenty times per spoon🤣🤣🤣
love your videos but you need to explain what you do to help the new carvers like me that would help and maybe grow your channel....I spend alot of time watching and not always understanding just saying buddy
Thanks so much man. Also wondering if I would be able to get in touch with you via instagram or other platforms as I have some carving questions I am a beginner just started about 3 weeks ago trying to learn some new skills thanks!
His video quality is beyond amazing!!! And as usual your craftsmanship is phenomenal!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you saying that 👌

Gotta keep all the bumps and mishaps in there! Good to have you here, brother 🙂👌
Such a stark contrast between spoon carving and Netflix and chill 😂!!
Fantastic work mate! Great economy of motion and a lovely little spoon to be. Did you carve those facets into your axe handle?
Thanks very much mate! No, I re-handled it, but these handles are on offer from GB through Woodsmith Experience in the UK already faceted👌
What axe are you using ? Where can I get one ?;)
Hi there, I put all of the tool makers in the description 🙂👌
@@andyspoons Hi :) i'm sorry but i can not see it :)
Sorry I must not have added it to this one! It is a Gransfors Bruk Large Swedish Carver ✌️

Definitely tell me which parts you are stuck on! I can't help if I don't know 🙂
I do also have some full commentary videos up here where I do go over finer details, but I'm always happy to focus on things that can help 👌
thanks pal I will be watching them
