சிங்கப்பூர், ஜார்ஜா, துபாயில் இருந்து திருச்சிக்கு விமானம் மூலம் கடத்தி வரப்பட்ட, 2 கோடி மதிப்பிலான சுமார் 3.5 கிலோ தங்கத்தை சுங்கத்துறை அதிகாரிகள் பறிமுதல் செய்தனர்.
சிங்கப்பூரில் இருந்து திருச்சிக்கு வந்த இண்டிகோ விமானத்தில் தங்கம் கடத்தப்படுவதாக, சுங்கத்துறை அதிகாரிகளுக்கு ரகசிய தகவல் கிடைத்தது. அதனடிப்படையில், விமான பயணிகள் மற்றும் அவர்களது உடமைகளை அதிகாரிகள் சோதனை செய்தனர். அப்போது, கழிவறையில் கேட்பாரற்று கிடந்த,1 கிலோ 450 கிராம் தங்கக் கட்டிகளை அவர்கள் பறிமுதல் செய்தனர். இதன் மதிப்பு, 75 லட்சத்து 71 ஆயிரத்து 900 ரூபாய் இருக்கும் என அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர். இதேபோல், துபாய், ஜார்ஜாவில் இருந்து 3 விமானங்களில் வந்த 3 பேரை, சந்தேகத்தின் அடிப்படையில் அதிகாரிகள் சோதனை செய்தனர். சோதனையில், நூதன முறையில் லேப்டாப்பின் கீ போர்டுக்கு அடியில், காகித வடிவில் 1 கிலோ 982 கிராம் தங்கத்தை மறைத்து கடத்தி வந்தது தெரிய வந்தது. இதன் மொத்த மதிப்பு 1 கோடியே 28 லட்சம் இருப்பதாக கூறப்படும் நிலையில், இது தொடர்பாக 3 பேரிடம் விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகின்றனர்.
