I love how he says "this part is mainly just resting" LOL. Every skater has slow "rest breaks" in their program, but few would admit to it!
lol. Nathan seems like such an honest and straight-forward kind of guy. Even in his interviews from when he was 10, I was thinking just how serious, practical, and honest he was as a young child.
Oh no he said he would only be going to two olympics and he went to 2018 and 2022 I pray he would go one more time, he the greatest skater I've ever seen.

I love how he explains "reacting to the music" as it hits different parts of the song. That performative part of a program really matters, and it shows when it's present and when it isn't. Matching your skating with the mood is so important.

I wanted to see how amazing his FS was in person so I went to see him perform at US Champs last month. It was an amazing experience for someone who’s never seen a figure skating competition before. He was simply fantastic! He’s an incredibly talented skater. Wishing him all the best at the Olympics!

Just for the record: Yuzu's score in the Olympics was 317.85. Nathan had 326.40 in the World Championship. He is the world's best skater and the Olympian's best skater!!!! Love you Nathan!!!!!
He was 17th in the SP at the Olympics . . . hardly the best
He has a long way to go before he is the best, he is young after all. Yuzuru Hanyu, Javier Fernández and Shoma Uno won were placed on the Olympic podium for a reason. Besides, quads isn’t everything
And by that “score” you only mean the free skate. The short program is important too
@@benbailey159bb By far Nathan Chen is the best. Nathan has beaten everyone including Hanyu since 2018 Olympics. In particular after 2021 WC FS, no figure skating experts including judges and his predecessors, decorated and iconic medalists like Alexi Yagudin have qualms about his current status quo as the best among all. Nathan Chen has been miles ahead of his peers, Hanyu included.

i don't know about you guys, but i feel U.S Olympic figure skaters are the most articulate well mannered athletes
That’s coz they speak English lol. Other skaters are articulate in their own language
I wouldn't generalize them all in that way, but Nathan certainly is. He's a very polite, professional, well-mannered, intelligent, kind, and humble human being. It is a very individualized thing, IMO.

He's good technically, but Yuzura's combination of techniques and artistry as better.... graceful ice skating.
yuzu has overly long arms that he uses to flail around with. He's a master at using his arms to coordinate with his legs. That's not exactly talent, its Hollywood charisma.

Without music, Yuzulu is very unimpressive and boring in his skate performances, nothing much more than flapping his gloved hands and nodding his neck.

Just a question...What exactly did he do wrong in the jump series at 2:43 ? I noticed that he got a red in the bars at 2:50 following the sequence, but I couldn't see what was wrong/worthy of a deduction. Does anyone happen to know?
