@vwlover94 1) it's not a camcorder so don't necessarily expect it to record for hours. 2) with every DSLR that records video, it can only record for a certain time limit. Most manufactures set limits at 30 minutes, or 2gb in file size so their cameras won't over heat. does not mean it's a defective camera. additonally. sony announced the a35, maybe they fixed this "issue"
Yes, it's great for regular photography. It's Ana amazing camera. The 7fps feature is amazing. It is great at night landscape as long as it's on a tripod
@henke9100 hey yes I ended up buying this camera anyway and I'm BASICALLY happy with it, as u can see on my channel, my drum covers have good quality.. but the ovrheating happens sometimes, on my last cover it was kinda hot outside and there was some sun hitting the camera, and recording that was a total pain cause everytime I finished playing the song I would go to the camera and it was off because of the overheat, so I had to record 2 clips but other than that its great, pics look great too ;)

I'm about to buy this camera, I want it mostly to record video, I'm a musician and I would like to record 3 min clips of every instrument and then mix it on the computer, is this overheating problem that the guy above is mentioning something to worry about? I'm not going to record for 1 hour non-stop, they are going to be like I said 3-4 minute clips, is it ok? would you recommend this camera for that purpose? thank you
@henke9100 lol :) mm not really sure about that.. I really like this cam,I think it would NOT overheat if u r under normal weather conditions and u have the stabilizer off (as long as u have it on a tripod or something thats not gonna make a difference) if it doesnt have direct sun and the day is not one of those REALLY hot ones its gonna be fine ;) but I dont know.. some canons r really good for video too ;) maybe u can check them out too.. but this is an overall great cam imo
@henke9100 lol WAY to advanced, that totally exceeded my knowledge.. haha I just record with the camera and edit the video with final cut pro X.. but I dont do anything to the video itself.. I just add titles, effects, and sync the vid with the audio from the drums and stuff.. but the vid looks great right out of the camera lol hope this helps.. good luck with the purchase :)

@henke9100 I guess the a35 does not have the overheating problem anymore after all the complaints the a33 got.. does it?
