Bought my A55 12 years ago. A Minolta owner since 1971. I now own too many cameras. ;-) But I love the GPS. I also love the XI motorized zooms along with some extraordinary sharp beer cans and Macros. I just bought an A65 for $160.00 on Ebay for slide and negative copying along with two extraordinary sharp 100mm and 50mm macro lenses. I also own a nice set of Canon RF series cameras and RF lenses. Sold my A7R II and lenses and went with the Canon RF system. Thanks for the video!
I agree. Such a great machine to capture life. Mine has over 40,000 shutter cycles and still going strong. Love the A mount interchangeability.
It really does make sense that Sony snagged Minolta … that A mount lens system is still good today
I bought an A35 with Sony 18-55and Minolta 70-210 for £75 and it's brilliant

Should i buy a SLT A58 with 18-55 mm stock lens or this camera with sigma 18-250 mm lens. Im so confused.
100% personal preference! It’s fine to the price and the condition of the bodies also I love the option of the 18-250mm focal length but the Amount glass is plentiful ;-) buy both lol

The 58 is a great body. The 20.4 sensor is a step up and with it being newer, the hotshoe is more of a standard type than the "MINOLTA" style. The 58 does not have the articulated screen it just flips.

I bought it new and now it overheats. I wish I could fix that

@@robbellphoto It slowly got worse. However, even brand new the video recording did send it into thermal shutdown. I can no longer use it to take more than 3 photos in a minute. I have kept it around for use with a video capture card because live view doesn't cause it to overheat
@@willedel nice to know ! I’ve not had an issue but the older model DSLR tech was maverick for sure ! Just got a A300 so I’ll see what’s up with that also
Lol I'm not even a Sony A mount fan but man, you're funny! Haha makes me want to buy an A33 for 40 EUR in the next town.
Have you tried Pentax? Same thing except their still going "strong": IBIS, backwards compatibility since 1950s.. all lenses from 1975 have the same mount, etc..
It’s on my list of brands to rock and roll with for sure …. BUT, the freaking prices hold fast on those
