  • DeWalt sent us this new cordless sander and I was super stoked to check it out. The corded version of this tool is one of my favorite tools of all time, however they don't sell it directly anymore. Will This cordless version replace my ol' reliable?

I'm normally a DeWalt guy but recently opted for the 36V Metabo HPT instead. Haven't used it much so far but am impressed with its overalll build and power so far. Specs wise, I'd assume the DeWalt is more of a refined or detailed carpentry sander of the two with its smaller speed range and variable speed trigger whereas the Metabo beast has the extra power , larger speed range and a basic on/off. Auto mode is interesting.

Excellent advice. Find a tool repairman who will help you keep older tools alive and reliable!!!

I was one of your insta friends that sold you one. I hope it’s stilling running well for you!
I think you’ll like the cordless sander but it eats batteries and that will probably be your biggest issue with it.

@@drdecks the amount of off camera love you must give to that sander the way you work it must be the secret to tool longevity lol.
Absolute pleasure to pass that along to you! Glad it’s still getting it done.

So what do you do in situations when sanding up against a bladder or joist? Just make sure the belt isn’t overhanging and butt right to it?

Correct. I’ve gone as far as shaving the belt to make certain it doesn’t drag into the bladder.

As long as you’re not ripping wet 2x materials, you should be good
