The Rehabilitated Bells of Santa Rita Parish

On 3 August 2010, 99 years after the major or largest (named Santa Rita) was installed in 1911, the church bells were brought down from the belfry to be restored. The parish, through Msgr. Gene Reyes, commissioned Royal Bells Philippines to do the necessary repairs.
After 46 days, on 19 September 2010, the bells were back in all their glory. A blessing and ceremonial ringing was held after the Holy Mass presided by Auxiliary Bishop Pablo David and concelebrated by Msgr. Gene Reyes. The bells were thereafter brought to the tower.
Instead of the traditional bell ringer, the bells are now fully automated, electronically-controlled by a mechanism installed in the sacristy. Known for their clarity of sound, Santa Rita's bells are now heard again!

Our Bells here in St. Augustine Cathedral Cagayan de oro are still old we still use ropes to ring the bells. Actually we have 5 bells but the 2 bells don't work anymore.
