    00:39 - Intro
    Project Racing Green is my 1989 Rover Mini Racing Green that has had an official John Cooper conversion fitted by John Cooper Garages. The standard 998cc engine is boosted from 41BHP to 60BHP thanks to the engine upgrades. The upgrades include a polished and ported Cylinder head with enlarged valves, LCB exhaust system, Roller tip rockers, and Twin HS2 SU Carburettors. The interior enhancements include walnut door capping, walnut dashboard, alloy door furniture, and luxurious John Cooper emblem full leather GTS recliner seats.

    Excellent progress, nice to see the project coming together, and very shiny...As always, some new top tips. Heat shrink on the bonnet stay - great idea. No Dimples on my project car boot lid.

    Yep I’ve rubbed my boot back to bare metal I have spot weld marks below the number plate. No quite dimples but definitely noticeable.

    That bumper / panel interface moment is called "Sodd's Law" mate. Short of masking taping everything its what happens.
    And yes bumpers are silly expensive. The two Clubman rear bumpers for Noah (a la Mini 1100 Special) were £145 each and they are now £195.
    But you have done a superb job on that car. 👍👍

    Nothing goes to plan with the old units😂watching you get this done is making me plan to get mine done also. Mine needs so much work, but will eventually get it done and sorted

    The bonnet idea, I've used 👍. Spraying the petrol tank with hammerite (never thought of that) I'll be doing that now. I've told the wife about my lights in the dishwasher... she gave me one of those looks 😂😂. Scratches, I feel your pain. I've checked my new heritage boot & there's no dimples. The cars looking beautiful 😍.
    P.s I'm not looking forward to putting the boot rubber back on.

      I used to get those 'looks' when I dismantled bike engines in the kitchen and put bearing races in the fridge 🤣

      Ha ha! My big sister used to put Baby’s potty and toilet fittings in the dishwasher occasionally, (my wife was horrified) 😂🤣

    That unboxing will be massive if it’s your biggest yet… you’ve had some big orders in the past so this might be epic.

    Hi, I also have the dimples... Annoying, but my car is still in factory condition, so it's a standard feature 😂

    Plastic Padding epoxy 2 part metal would have filled the small hole nicely Keith

    No dimples on my boot lid. However, mine has the seal on the lid which I bought from Minisport & it is still tight! I have been told that Minispares seals are not as hard?

    Looking great! I feel your pain. Is there any adjustment on the boot catch? I could do with it pulling a bit tighter. Thanks 👍

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not that I know of

    • @philtucker1224
      @philtucker1224 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, but if you Araldite a shallow wedge behind the flange where the catch bites it will give you the extra tightness you want but can still be removed if/when you fit new rubbers.

      I'll try and get that out with a bit of manipulation
