Dearest Nada, everything you have said and showed in this video is just what I needed to hear and see. I especially love the last section, so true! I can see it now. Please carry on and make more of these great video with great topics.
Sometimes, maybe usually, when acquaintances make comments like “why are you so dressed up?”, they just reveal their own insecurities about wearing their sweats and flip flops. I do dress “up” a bit more, but have noticed that others might be influenced by what I wear after a while: more dresses and skirts will appear in their wardrobes as well as other “dressier” changes. When people make comments about my dresses and skirts habit, or other details, I tell the truth, it’s all about comfort and personal preference. In the mid-80s, I was the first to wear an above-knee skirt to my very formal office, within a week, most women were wearing them, too. Sometimes someone just needs to break the ice, or be the first to not always wear jeans, etc.
These tips are all spot on. I love #5 the most. I still struggle with "wearing my cute clothes" everyday. The tip I need to work on is #7. I am doing better not matching everything but have truly learned in my Style Confidence course that bringing in other color and accessories adds a lot more interest and attractiveness.
Don't Explain!! I refuse to wear anything uncomfortable, but believe me, nothing makes me more uncomfortable than looking frumpy and as if I'm wearing the wardrobe equivalent of bad hair day messy bun. Here's to looking fabulous and not saving the things that make us look and feel good for someTHING special. We are special!
Stop apologizing and stop explaining - yes! When you own it, the feedback will mostly (if not all) be positive. Great reminder, Nada!
