- Back with Dave Lenat in the Gearwire studio, we continue our look at the new Line 6 POD HD500. In Part 1 we listened to some of the new "HD" amp models; now we're taking a look at the advanced looper functions, which include 1/2 speed and reverse functions, as well as the ability to place the looper pre or post amp and effects.
Dave also treats us to some of the POD HD500's factory presets, including a virtual amp and pedal board rig that'll have you doing an impressive Hendrix impression. We also check out a few presets with some more, shall we say, specialized applications.
I have never found a video that truly represents the power of this pedal.
It IS brilliant.
It has a steep learning curve-- one that many aren't willing to put the time into learning. I've had the unit going on a year and i'm still learning new stuff with it all the time.
Por fin una demostración hecha por un buen guitarrista y sobre todo con un oído capaz de sacar un sonido realmente top, saludos y gracias por el video!
I only have experience with the pod XT back around 2003 (?), and as I recall I did not care for the presets. It took a lot of tweaking, but I was able to get some good tones out of that thing. I loved just being able to run USB to the PC and record tracks in Audacity. Or jamming with headphones late in the night.
This video obviously doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of what the HD 500 is capable of. Line 6 is really beginning to grab my attention and interest as a front runner of guitar processors in this price bracket. For sure Fractal and some other companies are doing amazing sound effects, but the price of admission is a little steep.
i dont know. i thought it sound bad. Is it stock preset/patches?? Does tweaking it will make it sound better or good??
@jakeguitarable TH-cam's horrible compression really sucks. These things actually sound pretty killer.
I actually went back to the hd300. A little easier learning curve. You have to really tweak and tweak til u get a good sound. It takes time and I have the dt 25 amp which makes it sound better. But it took a long time to get a good sound. I'm used to pedals only.
@064panik ..Hi i'm thinking of getting one but have had troubkle in the past with getting a good frequency in the past when tried one.. Every time i've tried a pod it's always had a nasaly, frequency that hurts the ears! especially on gain.. Now, i believe you that it's a good unit but tell me please, what was i doing wrong with the unit?? I only used it in a shop so didn't have much time on it, but i gave up coz the frequencies were awful sounding..
I want this POD because Lincoln Brewster is using it; LOL :D
This compared to axe fx ultra its the same in tone and effects... The axe its more organic but you got to be very very picky to notice diference
hey i'm a noob...so this is a stupid question but you seem to have one so maybe u can help...do u plug this thing into any type of speaker?
where can I get a Freaking Manual, for this Freaking Awesome Pedal !!
My best luck getting good sounds was to build presets from scratch. Go to line6.com for manuals and additional presets/updates. It's much easier with a p.c. and the free editing software ("Line 6 pod HD500 edit". Also download monkey and anything else available from that site. I think this unit was designed primarily for direct-to-board or pc use. It sounds better out-of-the box that way - even the headphone output helped me get started. But once mastered it's very powerful.
Anybody know where I can find a Piano patch for the POD500 ??
On the Line 6 website.
yeah you can get the most normal to the most craziest sounds you can imagine, until the DSP LIMIT has been reached lol
A64= Area 64 DA, what did you think it was - an Atati game?
Hi bro can you make this preset to shiw for us?
shit loads of decent sounds I have not found a killer sound yet . does anyone know how to reset the factory presets????
man, this sound so frigging digital .. maybe I need to hear it live.
@mlunacantu I have a POD HD500, the manual doesn't say anything useful!
ur using a variax though....should use a normal guitar to see the differences too
That I part of the trouble is way too sharp
Yeah...Get a Roland GR-55
Is this direct record from HD500? Omg it sounds AWFUL. Just like you would clip ADA converters.
those unusable presets suck...I wanna hear amp sounds
wow... i cant believe it sucks so bad...
Line 6 website man.. :L
Presets are pretty shit.. you gotta configure it manually and discover your own sounds! Or download presets on line
