There is a generation of women with alopecia where it never ran in their families. I am 52 and suffer alopecia of random round bald spot in my scalp - recurring every other year for the last 5 years. I believe it is from DECADES of chemical use. I am a 70s kid and used chemicals for 40+ years. My mother (used peroxide to lighten but no chemicals like the ones she put on OUR hair), aunts, grandmothers on both sides, and even my great grandmother who passed in 2004 did not have balding issues. Thinning? Yes - it happens with age. I stopped using relaxers 5 years ago but the damage is done. I grew my hair out for 10 months since the last balding to just at my chin without stretching. The balding started last November with 3 large round bald spots and I was about to big chop yet again - you can't style and hide it! I had already been researched dreadlocks and was ready to get them done, but was embarrassed the balding literally started before I could get them. So I got bulk salt/pepper hair and made my own loc extensions and installed them - I was like: If it doesn't work, big chop as planned. I have a mohawk anyway and I can easily hide the balding area by laying the dreads to that side. The hair always grows back like nothing ever happened, it seems like the fall/winter create stress for my scalp. Every other January I have to big chop! As the hair grows back, I can add dreads. Doing them myself lets me keep the loc light and gentle. It seems like winter triggers it - I'm not even stressed - I get a lot of time off in winter and I love the season. I love my dreads and the fact that I have some control and can have a consistent hair style. When it happens again - I'm confident it won't show with the dreads, I'll just wait about 2 months until there's enough hair to add a loc. Note: I did buy premade locs off Amazon, but they were a disaster and too big/heavy - I had to take them out - making my own lightweight to perfectly match my hair is best. I used to have the best time shampooing and doing their hair as a child and even as an adult. There are SCORES of Black women between the ages of 45 and 75 who are ashamed to let someone do their patchy thinning, balding hair, let alone see it - due to extreme hair loss that only appeared with us. My cousins and I have no older women in our family to go to for answers as NONE of them have these sudden hair deficiencies. WHY IS THAT?!! I might also note the cousins who did natural hair and got laughed at for the press and curl - they have nice hair - not as thick - of course, but a nice full head of hair. We have to find a better way - the scalp is permanently damaged from chemicals and the metals travel in our bodies and settle largely in the blood, brain, liver and lungs. breast and uterine tissue. Cadmium stays in the bod 30+ years. As we age, our body functions naturally slow down (immunity, hair, collagen) and the damage shows up like junk when the lake is drained. Look cute now, pay later. @@_blk_daria_ All I know is the press and curl generation in my family didn't have balding and all of us curl and relaxers do. It's the scalp that gets damaged. A lot of people don't know that your DNA can CHANGE based on your environment and lifestyle. It's called evolution. Your DNA adapts to good or bad. I believe these chemical relaxers are dangerous and it will be more generations before any government entity says anything because it's largely black people using them.
Sis said, let's get this straight no purple hair lol. It's gorgeous I've been wanting to do this forever. My sides are tapered almost gone but the top I haven't relaxed for about a couple of months so I don't know if I can do it unless I chop it all off.
I’d go for it, sis! If it’s been 2-months since your last relaxer, you should have at least 1-inch of new growth. So, I’d suggest cutting it down to the new growth (if you’re comfortable with that) using scissors and then going ahead and bleaching it. You can go in with clippers, to shape and cut any dead ends and strays AFTER you’ve bleached it. OR: you can go ahead and cut and shape it with clippers, rock that style and wait about 4-5 days to bleach it.
Yes, if the shoulder length hair is “Natural Virgin” hair. You’d probably need to quadruple the product to ensure you have enough and not have to stop and mix up more product. If you have shoulder length hair I would assume that you value length so, I would suggest only performing this process once within a 6-8 month period of time to maintain a healthy lengthy mane, as re-bleaching post bleached hair can weaken the shaft and cause some breakage if it hasn’t had time to rebound.
Great job in detailing the process and including hair care, as well! I followed the steps but still had a yellow hue... Question? Would you suggest I complete the steps again for a platinum white look?
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that.🥲 I would suggest trying 3 things that’ll be gentle on your hair: 1 - Lightly Dampen the hair, apply purple shampoo and allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes before washing. Then follow up with purple conditioner. This should tone down yellow hues in the hair for right now. 2 - Wait about two weeks (performing a cream hot oil conditioning once a week) and then tone it again with Twella to further tone out and diminish brassiness, which will give a brighter look. 3 - Wait 6-8 weeks and complete the entire process again. This way you’ll give your hair bonds time to strengthen and prevent damage & shedding from over-processing. *Be sure the hair is clean and free of any products with color (gel, hair cream, etc) before starting. Remember to always use “All White” hair products (oil, pomade, hair cream, shampoo & conditioner) outside of the Purple Shampoo & Conditioner on blonde hair.

Heeey 👋🏼@@debracharles9738 , T14 is a blue-violet toner, which is great at cancelling out “brassy orange yellow” undertones that tend to come up when bleaching dark hair blonde. Another alternative is T18 (violet toner) which is the best at cancelling out yellow undertones. Also here’s a link to some T14 amzn.to/3CBpzmX
Great advice however with the measurements it’s plus or minus depending on hair texture hair length/thickness…whether hair was permed or bleached prior to this time!
It really varies on what my goal is because I change my hair according to how I feel, so I cut and change my hair quite often…. I also don’t mind my dark roots growing in as it gives my hair versatility. So, a touch up for me could can be as early as 6-weeks if I’m not feeling my roots and I’ve been cutting it low or as late as 12-weeks if I’m feeling my dark roots and letting grow to look like a snowball. Just go with how you feel and make sure to be doing your cream hot oil treatments weekly for the first 4-weeks and keeping your hair moisturized between time.
What if all the yellow did not come out in the back. My hair is longer so I’m thinking that is the reason. Am I able to do the toning process again in the back on another day?
@@dasdunca100 Yes! Wait about 7-14 days and tone it again. Be sure to do your weekly cream hot oil to strengthen the hair shaft before toning it again.
I saw in another reply that she used the purple shampoo only the first bleaching process and a regular Suave shampoo the second bleaching process because of not wanting the hair to turning purple.
Hi @@laricia70williams, you can opt to omit the coconut oil all together. I add it to my bleach to moisturize my hair while processing and the white color of the coconut oil helps to brighten my hair as the color lifts out. I would not advise using any oil with a color to it as your hair will pick up the base color of the oil (gold, yellow, blue, etc). Then you’ll have to go through another process to cancel it out to achieve platinum blonde. You can achieve this Platinum Blonde color by following this process WITHOUT adding coconut oil or any other oil. However, you do need to base the perimeter of your hairline to prevent irritation. I wish you well🩷
Since, Castor oil is clear it may be a good alternative as it is an EXCELLENT conditioner. I wouldn’t go with Vaseline because it does tend to have a yellow hue. I do apologize for my late response.
@@user-go7zw9vr4m at this length it was about once every 6-8 weeks because I cut my hair VERY often! So, there was no risk of hair damage because of my cut frequency.
Yes, to tone my blonde hair in the past, when it has turned yellowish due to product build up from using hair products with color in them. T18 has a violet base which ONLY tones out yellow. My black-brown hair normally has yellow and orange tones after bleaching though, so I use wella T14 because it has a violet-blue base, which cancels out the yellow and orange brassy tones in my hair. Black and/or Brown hair will normally raise to a yellow and/or orange brass after bleaching. Just choose the right toner to cancel any unwanted tones that the bleach may raise your hair to. Use the color wheel and go with the color directly opposite of the color you want to cancel out.
Hi 👋🏼 @@Janice-i8n , A Head Dryer is essential to the process and maintenance, as you will need it for your weekly, cream hot oil treatments to deeply moisturize your hair and prevent breakage. I can suggest 2 - Options: 1. If you have a hand held hair dryer, you can attach this hair dryer hood to it, to create a Head Dryer amzn.to/481OHij OR 2. Here’s a link to a Head Dryer like the one I use in the video amzn.to/4gYM2Kl Both are available for next day delivery. I hope your hair turns out great 😊

Hi @ceelya8683 coconut oil is a hydrating moisturizer, whereas Vaseline is a skin protectant and sealant. So, it doesn’t work the same. For me, the coconut oil being white also helps with the platinum color.
Hi 👋🏼 @@Passionandpurposerealestate I would wait until you had at least a good 1-inch of new growth, which should be around 8-12 weeks. Unless, you’re keeping it low and are going to cut a good bit of the existing color off anyway, then I’d say 6-8 weeks.

Hi Tanya. I don’t really experience any shedding with this method. Are you performing cream hot oil treatments once a week after your bleaching session?
@@sotieo If it were me and I valued lengthy hair and wanted to prevent breakage, I would wait at least 2-weeks after the black color treatment; Cleanse my hair with a “clarifying shampoo” at the end of week one, to remove excess color and product deposits, followed by a “cream hot oil treatment.” Then proceed with this process at the end of week 2. Or, if you rock your hair short, I’d say go for it.

Exactly! It’s formulated to tone, but not overly deposit a “color”. Ppl take a huge risk just going straight purple with shampoos and conditioners MIXED. You can’t try to be salon professional on one end, but cheap on the other. Do not pick a fashion color diluted to make a toner.

I love your video, but if you don't have t14 toner what else u could use
Heeey 👋🏼@@debracharles9738 , T14 is a blue-violet toner, which is great at cancelling out “brassy orange yellow” undertones that tend to come up when bleaching dark hair blonde.
Another alternative is T18 (violet toner) which is the best at cancelling out yellow undertones.
Also here’s a link to some T14 amzn.to/3CBpzmX
Thank you for this tutorial! Every time you said not to agitate my scalp, it made my head itch! Lmao 😂😂😂
Great advice however with the measurements it’s plus or minus depending on hair texture hair length/thickness…whether hair was permed or bleached prior to this time!
Wow, thank you so much. This was such a detailed video ❤❤❤❤
Hey Love it myuair was thinking s call lor before but t can I tone it the same day
I’m halfway through the entire process!!! Ima be late to work tonight 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol. You know we can’t go anywhere without our hair being the way WE want it🤣
‼️🎯👏🏽 did you ever use any neutralizing shampoo? Or just the purple one?
Hi 👋🏼 @@kimberlydriver830 No, I didn’t use any neutralizing shampoo. I only used the Purple Shampoo in the video.
Ok ty
Mine came out perfect thank you!
Or you can just put the coconut oil on the hair before applying the lightner
Great video! How often do you retouch your hair?
It really varies on what my goal is because I change my hair according to how I feel, so I cut and change my hair quite often…. I also don’t mind my dark roots growing in as it gives my hair versatility.
So, a touch up for me could can be as early as 6-weeks if I’m not feeling my roots and I’ve been cutting it low or as late as 12-weeks if I’m feeling my dark roots and letting grow to look like a snowball.
Just go with how you feel and make sure to be doing your cream hot oil treatments weekly for the first 4-weeks and keeping your hair moisturized between time.
The Best video!! Thank you so much!!😊
Ga you please guide what do I apply after bleaching ? Its just the purple shampoo or a coloring or tonning ?
The second process……….did you dry your hair completely before adding the second process??
Hi. No, I didn’t. I just gently towel dried my hair as much as possible, without agitating my scalp before moving into the second process.
Beautiful!!!Ty for sharing 🙏🏾
Great job😊looks awesome
Thank you 🙏🏽
You did a great job!!
Thank you 😊
What if all the yellow did not come out in the back.
So what did you wash it with? Neutralizing shampoo?
I saw in another reply that she used the purple shampoo only the first bleaching process and a regular Suave shampoo the second bleaching process because of not wanting the hair to turning purple.
Good job, you look beautiful ❤
Thank You 🙏🏽
I uae clairol white bleach. That Quick Blue be burning in contact.
Me too the cream bleach
What percentage оксид эмулятор can I buy that is same as 30 dev and 40 dev used?
What does the coconut oil mixed in color do
Hi 👋🏼 @@desireediggs9824,the coconut oil conditions my hair while it’s processing and helps to brighten my hair during the lifting process.
love it!
Can I use another oil. I have a protein deficiency and coconut oil even a little bit will make my scalp piss up.
I wish you well🩷
How about Vaseline or castor oil?
@@HappyHealthyNakedMom how about Vaseline or even castor oil?
Since, Castor oil is clear it may be a good alternative as it is an EXCELLENT conditioner. I wouldn’t go with Vaseline because it does tend to have a yellow hue. I do apologize for my late response.
How often did you bleach your at this length
@@user-go7zw9vr4m at this length it was about once every 6-8 weeks because I cut my hair VERY often! So, there was no risk of hair damage because of my cut frequency.
I phucked mine up. I left it on waaayyyy too long. Gotta shave it off and start again!
Oh no…. What happened? How long did you leave it on?
@@HappyHealthyNakedMom2hrs!!
@@debbyboyd738 aaah🥲 I hope you find a cute haircut🩷
I did the same thing. I had bald spots all over. I had to shave it off and start over!
How long did it take to grow back
Which toner is ,14 or 16. Thank's.
Great job!
Thank you 😊
Have you ever used Wella t18?
I didn’t see for the second round of bleach. Is this while hair is wet or dry?
It’s damp towel dried hair for the second round of bleach.
Beautiful 💯
I don't.
Have a hair dryer. So what do I need to do.
Hi 👋🏼 @@Janice-i8n , A Head Dryer is essential to the process and maintenance, as you will need it for your weekly, cream hot oil treatments to deeply moisturize your hair and prevent breakage. I can suggest 2 - Options:
1. If you have a hand held hair dryer, you can attach this hair dryer hood to it, to create a Head Dryer amzn.to/481OHij
OR
2. Here’s a link to a Head Dryer like the one I use in the video amzn.to/4gYM2Kl
Both are available for next day delivery. I hope your hair turns out great 😊
@@HappyHealthyNakedMom Thank you
Hello there! What would be the timing for relaxed hair?
O minutes. Bleaching relaxed hair will dissolve the follicle almost immediately. Your hair WILL fall out.
Hi @Glambyduchess. I agree with @edt003.
Sorry to ask, what was the mixture for the toner. Can't see the description.
It’s the violet color I think 050 but don’t quote lol it is the violet color from wella I use it all the time
@kelvinchulu2004 it’s Wella T14 and 20V developer.
Are you using anything to wash the bleach out the 2nd process or just water and what's the temp of the water?
I rinsed the bleach from my hair with warm water, washed it with purple shampoo and then rinsed it really well, also using warm water; before going in with the T14 toner.
@@HappyHealthyNakedMom Thank you
@@candyapplered6343 you’re welcome.
Thank you
My stylist never did these many steps and I'm platinum blonde, what's the difference?
That’s awesome! Please do share the products, measurements and processing times that your hair stylist uses and I’ll try it.🩷
They use different products & methods
I'm 57 white chick and I'm a new fan btw this work on my hair???
Heeeey @@theresawatson8557 👋🏼 I’m soo glad this worked on your hair. Thank you for sharing your experience and confirming that this methods works on all types of hair🩷
Can you add Vaseline if you one doesn’t have coconut oil
Hi @ceelya8683 coconut oil is a hydrating moisturizer, whereas Vaseline is a skin protectant and sealant. So, it doesn’t work the same. For me, the coconut oil being white also helps with the platinum color.
How soon can I retouch my hair?
Hi 👋🏼 @@Passionandpurposerealestate I would wait until you had at least a good 1-inch of new growth, which should be around 8-12 weeks.
Unless, you’re keeping it low and are going to cut a good bit of the existing color off anyway, then I’d say 6-8 weeks.
@HappyHealthyNakedMom OK! Thank you so much!! I just got it curt very low, but I still have some color on top! It's only been 2-3 weeks! I think I will wait! I don't want wants to show up for an interview bald this morning! Lol!! I wait, but I'm not missing my color and so bad!! I hope someone can relate! 😩😩😩😩😩
@@Passionandpurposerealestate you’re welcome! I wish you well on your interview👍🏽🩷
What temperature of water did you use? Cold or luke warm hot?
I use warm water to rinse chemicals from my hair.
Do you experience any shedding after you’re done bleaching or on a daily while upkeeing your hair?
Hi Tanya. I don’t really experience any shedding with this method. Are you performing cream hot oil treatments once a week after your bleaching session?
Can I do this process a week after using box black dye
@@sotieo If it were me and I valued lengthy hair and wanted to prevent breakage, I would wait at least 2-weeks after the black color treatment; Cleanse my hair with a “clarifying shampoo” at the end of week one, to remove excess color and product deposits, followed by a “cream hot oil treatment.” Then proceed with this process at the end of week 2.
Or, if you rock your hair short, I’d say go for it.
You are BEAUTIFUL!!!
Can u do my hair please????
Look nice
Can never get it right I cut my hair off it turns orange
I’m sorry to hear that. Try getting “ALL” of the supplies suggested in this video and try it this way. The “Wella T16” is used to tone and balance out yellow/orange brassy tones in the hair as seen in this video.
Wishing you the best🩷
I would've melted the coconut oil
Yes! I do it when I remember but don’t sweat it when I forget.
Can I melt the coconut oil?
Yes, ma’am!
I just use the shampoo shimmering lights
Cool 😎
Bleached mine using 20 volume and dyed my hair took every single curl I had out. Like my hairs bone’s straight so now I’m trying to learn finger waves. I’m so sad
Loving ur waist
Cute 🤍🤍
Thank you 🙏🏽
How long does it last
About 6-8 weeks.
Wish I could go this without loosing my curls 😢
Yeah, unfortunately bleaching does stretch the curl pattern, however my curls are back popping within 4-6 weeks so, I enjoy the versatility🩷
Ma’am, toner doesn’t turn your hair, purple, purple shampoo, or conditioner is what turns your hair purple not the toner. I’m just saying🤷🏽♀️
Exactly! It’s formulated to tone, but not overly deposit a “color”. Ppl take a huge risk just going straight purple with shampoos and conditioners MIXED. You can’t try to be salon professional on one end, but cheap on the other. Do not pick a fashion color diluted to make a toner.
You're right
