Yea ik navigraph is very good, and I may very well continue to use them if msfs doesn’t also come out with an app for the charts and airports and whatnot.
Just for realism, if you want to fly the airbus, pilots never use the Rose ILS mode when shooting the approach. Just keep it on ARC and zoom in. We will see how deep the radar will be on the airliners. The airbus has manual and auto tilt and gain and weather/turbulence modes which work with the wind shear warning system. I doubt it will be that in depth and i would imagine they will have the ability to turn it on and off with the switch on the pedestal and it will just show everything you need to avoid. That would be good enough for most players so id also be curious if the radar is omniscient or if it will not show cells which are hidden behind other large cells. We shall see.
All this does mean bad news for other flight sims. But this also means that now they have to step up their game. Curious to see what X-Plane will do next. Competition is good...
Well, Navigraph isn´t providing navdata for the the simulator (P3D) itself, instead of dooing it for all the different third party addon aircraft like PMDG, Captain Sim, Majestic, which are all comming with it´s own FMCs and MCDUS and therefore require the data in their own format. And the perhaps more important point: Navigraph isn´t just providing the data, but also all the charts. So it might be nice if navdata in MS2020 is current all the time, but without having the possibility to look at all the frequencies, radials, DME readings, holdings, minimum altitudes, transition altitudes, missed approach procedures, speed and altitude restrictions, it´s no real replacement for Navigraph.
3rd party companies will just make their aircraft use the sims navdata instead of their own formats. Would be stupid not to. And the built in flight planner will let you create flightplans. That or any number of free flight planners/trackers that also give you the plates. I like navigraph charts, but it won't be necessary or worth the sub price if you don't need the navdata anymore.
Wow, I'm sure your pronunciation in a second language is perfect also....oh wait...you only speak 1 language...barely....Now while you are at it....go through and comment on every persons mistakes plz...People like you just need to stop breathing....Good chance Covid 19 will take you...the sooner the better.
I just want know if you don't respond to ATC, if they will actually scramble fighters to intercept you. Or if you squawk emergency if they will respond to that. I also didn't see any pop-ups for declaring a mayday; maybe these only show up during an emergency? They did talk about ATC managing other traffic and planes doing go-arounds if you land un-cleared. It would seem to reason that some of these features may actually be there and we just don't know yet.
I wonder if ATC has holding instructions something like this: ATC: "Hold east of the Ormond VORTAC on the 090 radial, left turns, maintain 5,000,' expect further clearance 0+50". Or, maybe in a further update?
Everything is customizable. In another video, it's shown how you can make this as realistic or arcadey as you want. Different parts are skippable and togglable. You can remake real-life flights or just dick around in a plane
Back in 2016, I got my PC mainly to do some flight simming after falling in love with the youtube videos I'd seen showing full flights in sim. I spent a few months dicking around, then I bought the PMDG737NGX, what I had heard was about the best add-on aircraft you could buy at the time. For about a week I didn't even know how to start the thing, and if I did, I wouldn't haven't known how to get it off the ground, and if I did I wouldn't have known how to get it where I wanted it to go. But everything you do, buy, try, will be accompanied by a raft of documentation and help that you can dive in and out of at your leisure. Usually you'll find a 'quickstart' guide front and centre of any complicated thing you might do in these things. How to get started quickly. You just build up your knowledge from there. Xcalium is right, too. The sim claims to be totally scalable, so you can set it to be the most simlike experience possible, or all the way so it may as well be Afternburner on the Sega Megadrive, or anywhere in between. You'll quickly realise, apart from those first hours with a new complicated product, system, concept or whatever, where you certainly will feel like you have no idea what's going on, that you didn't really have very much to be worried about.
David Naylor this game would probably be the best thing to fly in. Not only are the graphics and audio systems, weather and flight dynamics incredibly realistic but since the AIRAC cycles are being updated you won’t have to be bugged to go onto a website to plan flights with outdated airac cycles and potentially be forced to buy ones. Thank god for this integration
With all of this development and the associated costs, there is no way this sim is going to be packed with all of these features and sold for $60 U.S. That just isn't going to happen. I have been saying that the pricing model will probably shock some people, not to mention the costs of upgrading hardware to run this sim. My guess is that many of the features will have to come from the cloud in some type of streaming download. There may be several out of the box versions available. Yes, it does look like a major tech jump in simulation. But, again, I will temper my enthusiasm until I see the pricing structure and the cost of necessary hardware upgrades.
Another great update, but there's one thing I'm a little worried about:What is missing on the Flight Management Computer when they only have "core functionality"? I hope there will be more details soon, because I want to know what's missing in the basic game. I think this gap will be filled by 3rd party developers if somebody wants the full experience.
@ X-CHECK Many people who will want to fly MSFS will have limited knowledge on how to fly aircraft, "myself included". But flying is also about training schools on how to fly. How enjoyable will the flight experience be if your knowledge is limited and do not have a flying background? Will the sim tell you what buttons knobs and switches to press to get to the destination? I guess this is a basic example but you can see what I am getting at. Thanks for the vids. Keep em' coming.
TazmanKRS The best you cam get in a flight sim. You can plan your route an easy way as shown in the video. I think there some sort of helper if you need that will tell you wich buttons to click.
There will be plenty of tutorials on TH-cam in addition to whatever tutorials MS provides in game. Start simple and work your way up to IFR. Learn about the airplane you are flying (start with a cessna 172 or 152) and start with startup and taxi and shutdown, then takeoff and landing. Then fly around in vfr and have fun
Absolutely. I noted that as well. I watched a (possibly leaked) video and the FPS listed in that for someone with hardware matching MS's listed ideal was in the low to high 20's with some stutter, so it seems they have a ways to go with optimization. I wonder if, given consoles and all, they are targeting a uniform 30 FPS...
For anyone who may have flown an airliner in the alpha: how is the sound when an airbus/747 touches down? No simulator I've used has ever gotten this right. They all sound like a small plane with a tire squeal and little bounce. The big planes almost sound like they land with a deep thudding sound and a 'heavy' groaning feel as the weight settles.
I doubt it unfortunately. However, I’m sure that VATSIM will be up and running for MSFS so you will be able to interact with actual ATC, hopefully anyways.
I thought the same thing! Considering that voice recognition is now quite clever, implementation of this technology in the fs2000 would be a dream come true for every simmer out there, hopefully maybe someone from Microsoft will read this.
Can you dial up approach and using plain English ask for multiple practice approaches on ILS runway 18 at PIE, for example? Will they hand you over to tower once established inbound on the localizer? Can you then fly the published missed or alternate? This would be great because this is how we practice IFR in the real world for currency.
HH HHH it will run but at mostly minimum settings a 1050 isn’t the best card for high quality graphics 4gb of ram isn’t that much there site says a minimum of 8 your cpu is perfectly good but a gpu and ram upgrade is needed for graphics similar to the trailers
Henry Poole, I am already well aware of the fact that my Laptop won’t get anything close to the trailers. I’m fine with this, as the main reason I’m excited about this sim is the new FM and potential for study-level aircraft. Do you think my laptop will get 1080p40 at low settings? Btw, I’ve got 16 gigs of Ram, not 4. The 4 GB is VRAM.
That's interesting what you say about no longer needing a Navigraph account. I actually have a Navigraph account which is of course an excellent feature addon but I wonder how they're going to respond because this will mean a serious loss of income to Navigraph once people migrate over to FS2020.
I feel like to ask for more would be very selfish of me. IFR and ATC was my main hopes. However, if I were to wish for one more thing, I would choose a damage model. I would bet my house on it that they're NEVER have full blown crashes in scenery (other than maybe runways or open fields). Microsoft immediately ran away from flight sim after 9/11. They didn't want the bad press coming back to them from all the over-reacting masses and to be on the news on how realistic it was/is. They even pulled it and patched it immediately to take the twin towers out to avoid people making video reenactments of it. That being said, I'm 99% sure that they will allow 3rd party devs to have wear and tear like A2A, and failed gear and other systems that result in belly landings as well as water emergency ditches like RealAir modeled. Coming down too hard and blowing a tire or strut, or a tail strike I would also say would be possible, even with default. What I hope to see is more accurate weathering and wear and tear as well as damage based on past flights with a better damage model that 3rd party devs can dive much deeper into than before. I would be very surprised if we didn't see that but we will never see scenery crashes and building explosions like some people crave. That's more than fine with me and I think most adults can care less about such a thing also! One last damage model request would be for the sim to keep track of my spending on addons that I can later look back on to see the vast damage to my wallet over time! :)
Will we be able to just spawn in somewhere and fly around where we want, including landing at taking off at free will? Also have we got a VFR episode/update yet? 😊
There will be no VFR flight episode, doesn't need to be. VFR is visual flight rules, you use the terrain and visual cues to fly. What more do you need to know?
Hello, I am impressed of the fs2020. I have a question. I am not a good pilot. Do you if it is possible that co pilot does the approach and landing of the plane? So that I can learn and watch the landing and scenery. Thank you for answer.
Everything is customizable. In another video, it's shown how you can make this as realistic or arcadey as you want. Different parts are skippable and togglable. You can remake real-life flights or just dick around in a plane Copied from my own comment
If monthly navdata updates are going to be a thing, will we be forced into paying for those via subscription model? I would much rather have the option for one off purchase of the sim with no navdata updates were that the be the only way to do it.
Anybody experiencing the bug where if you file an IFR clearance to the atc, it will not tell you anything but have an "acknowledge plan" and "say again" on your choice to reply. They will even say "acknowledge last transmission" even though they didn't reply to my initial call and didn't receive any instruction to my IFR plan.
slaapzz there will probably be challenges where you can practise your landings and take offs. You will also be able to learn to fly the cessna 152 with a tutorial.
Is there any chance that we could use our voice in comms with ATC instead of a mouse click on pre determined responses? Can you also ask them if there will be a way to 'call for passenger boarding' like we have in GSX?
There are tons of videos on TH-cam on various flight computers. I'd suggest first learning a simple GPS with autopilot coupling before moving up to a FMC.
Well it is alpha, they're constantly adding new features, they have patch notes that state low fps when moving the camera around. Take it all with a grain of salt.
Realistic camera shake with a 3D cockpit probably has to be balanced, so that the controls are not impossible to click because your camera moves too much.
Well, Kommandant, I guess you meant some puns in your sentence, sir! But for real I hope so mate! If it isn't on keys and maus, I ain't going for it!! Because that's the key feature of Microsoft Flight Simulator!

For the feedback snapshot and the questions, do they answer them?
omg they posted yet another pic of mine AWESOME!
curious to know if it will be possible to connect with foreflight so we can use a tablet
Will we be able to just spawn in somewhere and fly around where we want, including landing at taking off at free will?
Also have we got a VFR episode/update yet? 😊
1: yes
2: no i don't think so
There will be no VFR flight episode, doesn't need to be. VFR is visual flight rules, you use the terrain and visual cues to fly. What more do you need to know?
1:38 what about jeppesen charts :)
You can remake real-life flights or just dick around in a plane
Copied from my own comment
What do you recommend, HOTAS or yoke?
Awesome!
If monthly navdata updates are going to be a thing, will we be forced into paying for those via subscription model? I would much rather have the option for one off purchase of the sim with no navdata updates were that the be the only way to do it.
I really want to know about helicopters
Nice summary, looking good.
what is the next episode?
Think they will any alpha for the Xbox?
My wallet is scared
Be afraid. Be very afraid. Lol
im hoping 3rd party ATC can be used
Anybody experiencing the bug where if you file an IFR clearance to the atc, it will not tell you anything but have an "acknowledge plan" and "say again" on your choice to reply.
They will even say "acknowledge last transmission" even though they didn't reply to my initial call and didn't receive any instruction to my IFR plan.
It looks like the a320 have full wingflex on the ground?? Looks so weird!
Looked weird because it was 2x speed.
@@NicOz42 I noticed that later lol
What about ATC in multiplayer? That was a huge let down in previous simulators.
Will there be a setting where I can just take off and land. Like a noob setting.
slaapzz there will probably be challenges where you can practise your landings and take offs. You will also be able to learn to fly the cessna 152 with a tutorial.
Take my money!
Is there any chance that we could use our voice in comms with ATC instead of a mouse click on pre determined responses? Can you also ask them if there will be a way to 'call for passenger boarding' like we have in GSX?
Too bad the 152 does not have DME!! Wanted to learn ifr in that plane and it doesn't have it :c
is it going to have cargo planes, i hope so
Do we know if the default A320 will be able to
Be CEO and not only NEO.
I hope the flight sim gives a tutorial on how to use the flight computer, because I need to know how to use it
There are tons of videos on TH-cam on various flight computers. I'd suggest first learning a simple GPS with autopilot coupling before moving up to a FMC.
Will the sim come with liveries as default for airliners, and is there going to be a 737 8 9?
no 737
The FPs Scares me
Well it is alpha, they're constantly adding new features, they have patch notes that state low fps when moving the camera around. Take it all with a grain of salt.
How about multiplayer?
Does ATC sound like the one from the fsx or p3d?
@10:24 Does anyone know the song name, Would love to listen to it.
Looks so good I’m like a kid waiting on Christmas. Keep up the good work xcheck
Do you know if the full IFR and FMC / MCDU functionality will be in the 747 and possibly a 737?
just wait for the PMDG study level plane addons for this, will be sweet !
Is there going to be realistic camera shake? So far, I haven't seen any sign of it.
Realistic camera shake with a 3D cockpit probably has to be balanced, so that the controls are not impossible to click because your camera moves too much.
I want to buy it now lol
Bye bye navigraph 👋🏽 😂
I'm getting very excited. I hope they keep the old maus and keyboard keys.
Well, Kommandant, I guess you meant some puns in your sentence, sir! But for real I hope so mate! If it isn't on keys and maus, I ain't going for it!! Because that's the key feature of Microsoft Flight Simulator!
Maus?
So this brings an end to using simbrief and skyvector online?
You'd probably still want Skyvector online for the airport diagrams .
@@santiagoluib3 ah yes that makes sense. I only just signed up to those sites couple months ago as well.
Will there be a boeing 787 and a 777????
ATC and emergency management missing......
stares at PMDG..
There will be...and it will be sweet !
