Just came back to this after a little while. What a great band. Cheryl is such a great host - she clearly loves the music. One of my favourite KEXP videos

Having see the Waterboys live a few times, I'm really impressed with this small combo, with a really clean sound. I wish I could get a few soundboards from this tour. I miss Thistlethwaite and Wallinger, but Mike is still going forward, so what more could one ask for!
I always cry when I hear this and even worse today, as my beloved Kerry Blue Terrier pasted away on Sunday. Clif would love these Irish/Scottish lads. Bless you, Clif.
The day I heard A Girl Called Johnny on the radio in the 80's was the day I became a Waterboys fan. My favourite line up had Karl Wallinger (RIP) on keyboards, Anthony Thistlewaite on sax and Roddy Lorimer on trumpet. That line up blew U2 off the stage when they toured with them.

@@cathsalazar9930 Glad you love the Waterboys as much as I do 😀. They are really excellent. I missed seeing them in my country this May because of the Corona virus. Very unfortunate. Stay safe Cath. Love from South Africa ❤️

Great to see Mike Scott playing live with great SQ, but I have to say that if Cheryl Waters was waiting 20 years to have them at the show she could have prepared a bit more the questions. The interview was insubstantial, and meaningless. A lost opportunity.
I just love the Waterboys. Thankyou To KEXP. Tuned In From 🇯🇪🇬🇧🫶🫡🫡. Being honest i never knew the fuller life story of W.B. YEATS, Until listening to Mike Scott telling his mother & his childhood upbringing story. ..Bonus !

Mike Scott's Music Is The Greatest.. And Steve Wickhams Fiddle Playing Is Truly Epic 💚
Definitely 💯
The Waterboys and The Hothouse Flowers have got to be among the best bands to come out of Ireland in the 80s.
Long live Mike Scott .after hearing whole of the moon I delved into them, what a band

I love Cheryl Waters so much: she seems to be genuinely flustered by/honored to be in the same room as The Waterboys...so fantastic...

Except for the fact that Dylan could't sing or play the guitar
