These heat sinks excel in optimizing cooling by accommodating higher fin densities than those achievable through extrusion methods while avoiding interface joints that can impede heat flow, a characteristic of bonded or brazed fin heat sinks. Manufacture involves precise slicing of the base's top, known as skiving, folding it back perpendicular to the base, and repeating at regular intervals to form fins.
The skiving process enables the creation of high fin density and thin fin heat sink geometries, optimizing thermal performance.
