Hi Sir - thank you for doing this review; I'm shopping for an Emax or similar and this really helps. Like the auto-drain feature too - will definitely get one of those add-ons.

Does it have the whisper quite system? Sounds very loud but I think he's running non-whisper quiet version.

The compressor only runs 400 to 500 RPM. The motor runs 1725 RPM. Went to school with the owners, Matt and Alan, so they are built right in my home town for almost 40 years and 3 generations. Great family business values. Some parts are over seas but have a 5 years warranty on all parts. They have a add on baffle system that cuts the noise down in half of what is already the quietest compressor I have been around. Everybody I know in the Mechanics, Body Shop and home hobby garages have these. Never heard of one having any problems as the compressor is their own design and made to their specs. Wish I would have bought one before I retired. They have a really great price but Social Security does not support any new shop equipment. Tell them Joe Williams sent you.

So you would say they're good air compressor? I was told the compressor and motor are made in China?

@@HondaCrf450r. They are exceptional air compressors. They hold up very well for years because they run at a lower RPM. That makes them quite and less moisture build up. The motor and compressor are from China but as much as I hate china products, these are of very high quality and very heavy duty. You won't find anything any better than this even at twice the price. Most American compressors get their parts from China.

Maybe you fix that already but I noticed the concrete wall bounce and amplified the sound of the compressor. Install some soft foam between the compressor and the wall, it may reduce the sound a lot more. Thanks for the review sir, that's a great compressor.

Thanks for the review and the side-by-side. I'm looking at this exact compressor. How has it worked for you over the past year. I run a small sandblast engraving business and want to upgrade from my current 60 gal, single stage Harbor Freight special. Want something quieter that doesn't run as much. Work load has increased over the past 2 years, so need more air! Any input would be great! Want to buy the last compressor I'll ever own. Suggestions welcome. Thx!

Thanks for uploading! I haven't been able to find a video of this compressor anywhere else!
I was looking at the emax's website, and I am a bit confused. The 80 gallon tank that you have looks like a 60 gallon model? Why is that?

I’m thinking about getting a 10hp 2-Stage 38cfm @ 100psi. I bought a Media Blasting cabinet that they say needs 24cfm. But I’m thinking about getting a bigger cabinet. How well do u think it will do with my blast cabinet i have now requiring 24cfm @ 90psi

I just built a blasting cabinet to blast wheels at a body shop I work at. Would your compressor comfortably supply a blaster air needs along with other tools, sander and grinders etc?

I use my EMAX to run a blast cabinet from Grizzly and run all types of air tools without issue

    • @MichaelJeffers75
      @MichaelJeffers75 8 ปีที่แล้ว

What I meant was can others use those tools at the same time you're blasting?

The auto drain runs off 115 volt outlet but main runs off 220v

    The 7.5 hp 80 gallon puts out 31 SCFM @ 100
IR 7.5 hp 80 gallon puts out 21 SCFM and is twice as loud and runs at twice the rpm.
And Emax doesn't prorate their warranty like IR and everyone else I have talked to so far does.
I am in the research phase of purchasing a new compressor and so far Emax has everyone else beat hands down. I haven't found anything yet that even comes close to the SCFM output for the price.

Us made tank only. Listen carefully what you told us. Tank in us, motor in Mexico, pump overseas and you telling us to stay away from IR.

He criticized other brands because they are made in china but this is made in mexico and "overseas" which is china lol

    Sir,
I'm currently struggling between one of these in the 7.5 or 10 hp and its equivalents that IR makes. When you said IR doesnt stack up did you mean their small compressors or the EMAX equivalents? Thank you.

    • @thomaseichstaedt4988

BigLeoRocks I think he was talking about the line of IR compressors at Tractor Supply from China.
But now I see IR v-twin pumps are from China.
      Good luck

Don't brag about something being built in the u.s when it's not. Most all the compressors tanks I've seen are u.s made and everything else is not. If you want a good compressor go find an Ingersoll Rand or Quincy from the 60s or 70s overhaul it and you'll have something

*After years of hauling around a large,💫 **allabout.wiki/PORTER** heavy, loud dewalt air compressor (that ironically was advertised as quiet, supposedly 78dB), I bought this. Facepalm. While it is not ‘silent’, I find myself chuckling every time I use it, sparing all my neighbors the terror of my former compressor. I use for inflating tires, impact wrench, finish nailers. Absolutely love it. And I store it under the garage sink in a 24” cabinet. I paired with a coil 1/2”, instead of a my former 50’ 5/8” hose that I had to lug across the yard from the shed, unpleasantly uncoil.... this little guy is light and portable; just a joy. Impact wrench is still capable of easing lug bolts, flywheel bolts, crank pulleys... just allow for a tiny bit of recovery now and then.*
