- Here is how I converted a store bought ghost face costume by fun world into a close to screen accurate replica cosplay. I hope this helps!

That's what I thought.
That is true the store bought ones are not screen accurate from the Scream Movies
They're not, that's why now people are finding ways to modify it for a more accurate look, It does take alot or some work but it's worth doing it.

If u want to have a bigger hood like in the movie, just wear a black sweater with a hood and cut the hood off the costume but leave the foam part left there attached so it dont fall, and then bam ,put it all together and u got a bigger hood

If u have a regular black hoodie, an the hood really big an flappy then use it , jus cut off the foam part an glue it to ur hoodie , wear two hoodies if u want it to be a little higher above the mask

Anytime when I see pics on Amazon or any store site they are always wearing the belt which is not screen accurate lol. It bothers me so much. I don't even know why it comes with the belt.

Love this video I have a plus sized robe and I'm tall and skinny so this tutorial should be useful heck the people who made the suit for the movie had to modify the robe to make it look more realistic and less like it came out of a Halloween costume store lol

25th anniversary costume came out in 2021 and looks like this costume you made in the video.

I know old but nice :P What voice changer did you use? I have the same robe and might try to attempt the same thing. Was any sewing needed? Also they are releasing the original Scream Ghostface killer robe just for this year I think, same with a proper Buck hunters style chrome knife that looks cool =]

I was thinking about doing this. I really appreciate this tutorial. Only downside is I'm not gonna be picking up any fabric & I already have my robe. Do you think the drapes would still look okay if I just try to make them movie accurate with what the robe provides? Also, do I ditch the belt? Lol

When I did my diy I had one of my friends use some of their fake blood from spirit halloween put a bunch of blood on their hand and smear it on my mask for the iconic blood smear ghost face gets in one of the movies when someone tries to reveal his identity.

So I found the actual fabric they use to make Halloween costumes... did you use spandex because it had a weight to it or just cause it was the closest you could find?

It’s called lurex but it’s been out of production since before Scream came out. Wes was lucky enough to find enough to make a few robes

Mine is more modelled after how Ghostface looked in the first movie. As for the gloves, I don't know shit about sewing, so I have tight fitting gloves and I stuff the sleeves into the gloves.

You have to get the large size and the hood will look big that’s what I did

Fiery Gamer 0 dearly sorry for the late answer but the longest drape should go down to about the knee level and it should be as wide as your costume’s arm

Thats good man! Never understood y funworlds robes were sht design, tight pointy hood and crappy drapes, also in the first Scream the drape ribbons are square cut off not rounded 😉 U should try modify the hood too make it a bit more baggy

Or if you are REALLY REALLY lucky you can find one with little to no paint mistakes in Walmart, target, or Any other place with Halloween stuff
Unfortunately the masks suck this year (which happens) you can either buy a crap one this year. Or wait until next year or buy one from eBay. Whatever you choose is up to you.
Did you hand sew or use a sewing machine to sew the drapes in
slxsher I used a sewing machine. If sewing gets too difficult, I’d recommend fabric glue
