  • So spur of the moment I decided to up and go camping. Although I knew it was gonna be a cold night I decided to take my tent and brave the elements. I also took my latest invention a truck tent with a tarp. It did get very cold during the night but I was warm inside my sleeping bag. It was a 20 degree bag and it got right down to that. I also used my Mr buddy heater during the night due to the the extreme temp drop. I fished in the Jackson river and caught some some rainbow trout. I had a great time cooking over an open flame using my cast iron. I will be doing alot more of these outings and hope you all will join along.

Very cool man and so simple. Even simpler than having a pvc box design. Can keep these pole flat in the bed if needed and just pop it up when you arrive.

My dad's selling me his avalanche for $500 and I'm so excited, I'm glad to see there's a community of truck tarp campers, because I felt like with the cab divider being able to drop to save space, it would be irresponsible of me not to utilize this truck for camping

I always get a chill when I see the bald eagles here too. PVC, I've made so many things out of PVC too!! Heck yeah I'd ride there to camp!! Now I want some trout! Reminds me, I went fishing for steelhead once in Alaska with a friend, he took his issued extreme cold weather sleeping bag, I took one like that one, it was supposed to be good to 25, but 30...nope...I tossed and turned all night freezing listening to him snore..lol!

Good for you one keto! I've been on a STRICT keto diet for over 25 years (before it actually became popular). Lost over 80 pounds in the beginning. Then lost another 13 pounds and ALL of my medical issues. Now I'm as healthy as a horse (since the beginning of my keto journey) and just the right weight for my height and build. One thing I noticed is that I have a HUGE amount of energy all the time. I can walk for miles and then walk some more without tiring at all.

Yep, very nice truckbed tent. And the 2 extra corss members you talked about would make it perfect. Maybe some tiedowns to keep the tarp from flying off in a gust of wind and you're set.

Which campground were you originally planning to stay at, was it Hidden Valley Campground, do you only camp at Blowing Springs Campground or have you camped other places before

Excellent, quick, functional shelter that probably didn’t cost you but maybe 30 bucks. Being able to sync can save you a lot of money. I lived under tarps in the back of a truck for about a year and had a PVC pipe support very similar to what you have. It goes together easy it comes down easy.
