Nostalgia! I was a teen listening to KMEL and living in San Jose, CA in the early '90s at the time. I remember I bought the album on cassette. Now I'm in my mid-40s. I remember SP was also on heavy rotation on KMEL. And I remember they also played Cryin'. I think SFFY and Cryin' and SP---today---would be considered Country Music (note that it wouldn't be ILYS because of the rap and the heavy beat).
