Today my wife and I take a taxi from our hotel called the Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach Resort to the most requested place for us to eat at called Scotchie's Restaurant. They apparently have the best Jerk Chicken on the Island. We also get to try out a popular side dish called a Festival which is a fried dumpling made from plain flour, yellow cornmeal, brown sugar and salt.
Fresh milk is sometimes used to give the festival dumplings its fluffy interior.

Scotchie's restaurant- / scotchiesjamaica
Scotchie's restaurant in Ocho Rios is said to have the most authentic jerk on the island. In fact, their food is so popular it now has three locations in Jamaica and has become somewhat of a legend on the island. Tiki huts provide covered seating, yet the restaurant looks like a shack with mouth-watering aromas pouring fro the smoky grills. Jerk chicken, pork, and festivals - a Jamaican twist on sweet bread sticks, are served with peas and rice, bread fruit, and plantains. Be careful with the homemade sauces, which are made with Scotch bonnet peppers (a seriously spicy pepper).

We went to Cornwall Beach in 2018. Just before Covid started. We also did the the trip to the best jerk chicken… thx for bringing back great memories of the place and people. Enjoy.

We had a Jamaican jerk chicken place in Chicago that didn't make it thru the pandemic. Was so good. Bet this was even better straight from the island!
The chicken looks nice. I like a whole chicken but only when they give me the whole thing intact so I can pick at it myself, caveman style. 😂
This was not the Scotchies I went to in Jamaica. It was so.much better looking but it's still a nice place.

I just wanted to say that we have a Kingston & St. Andrew metropolitan area… both are individually parishes where the capital of Kingston(parish) is Kingston(city). A lot of locals living in St.Andrew will say they are from Kingston, even if they weren’t born nor lived there, as it’s easily understood.
Technically we are ..Kingston City St Andrew helps to make up the city of Kingston
The best Jerk chicken you could ever get is at winifred Beach in portland Jamaica. If you eat that jerk chicken you will never want another jerk chicken but that one

yeah that's the real way to spice up food, not to ridiculous heights that the taste of the food is lost, but instead it heightens the flavor, compliments it. that's why i will never ever do extracts, that's just being masochistic at that point.
