Bald and Johnny get along perfectly when elsewhere. Johnny is a good 7 years younger than Bald and is simply excited to be in a place he's never been before, whereas people (eg. Ben) act differently when they are home and in a place that doesn't interest them anymore.

Johnny does zero research on anything about London, drags some Ukrainian woman along with him that doesn't appear on camera or say anything, and then hangs on Bald for video content without getting him to say anything interesting. Finds every overpriced food to eat, sees very little and doesn't go many places, complains about everything and then slaps together random clips to make a video with bad audio and no editing. This is amateur at best. A real traveller would know that the best things in London are FREE - the world class museums, parks, architecture, outdoor attractions, landmarks, riverfront, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, etc.
Johnny has to become more professional. You do good helping people but that’s not enough to get support. Bald is so professional and entertaining g and knowledgeable in a very humorous entertaining way.
It seems in this trip he just wanted to see his friend bald and I’m fine with that. Everything doesn’t have to be a heavy production with forced tv personalities.
In New York, if you go to eat or drink something in the smack of the city, the most tourist places, don't you overpay there too??? It comes with the territory, plus the RENT for those places is insane. What else to expect than overpriced everything, doesn't matter which capital city you go to....

From a Brit I found his complaints well founded. Living in London is ridiculously expensive and to be honest he was right that hotel room was horrid. You can go to many other places in europe spend what he spent on a hotel room and have a gorgeous view even in Paris he would have gotten better accomodations.

Any friend of mine, I'd have been asking, "What was it like being in a Russian prison? How are you feeling about the experience, now? Did they apply coercion? Are you angry?" When you eat food during hi tea you start with the savoury items first. Sandwiches, savouries, scones then cake. Harrods have the best tea and you pay one price and it cover refils.

Speaking as a Devon native, one of the few things I would actually complain about in a cafe like that would be the state of that high tea. Still, at least Johnny put the cream on first, as is proper unless you're some kind of degenerate from Cornwall.

The meal depicted in this video is not what I'd call "High Tea", it is what I'd call "Afternoon Tea". "Afternoon Tea", in England at least, is a light meal taken mid-afternoon with cake, scones and sandwiches. "High Tea" is something more substantial, would include cooked items, and is taken late-afternoon or early evening. Apparently in some parts of the world the two terms are used interchangeably but as this video is set in London I'll stick with the English definitions and distinction.
"Afternoon Tea" isn't really a big everyday thing in England and tends to be reserved for "special occasions" ... a Sunday trip to look around a stately home or a museum might involve "Afternoon Tea" in a tea-shop, a holiday in a classy hotel might involve having "Afternoon Tea" to while away an hour or two, if some old friends or relatives are coming to visit for an afternoon the host/hostess might prepare "Afternoon Tea". People will take friends or relatives to hotels for "Afternoon Tea" as a Birthday or Anniversary treat.
"Afternoon Tea" is usually seen as treat, not as an everyday occurrence, and people who just want a bite to eat will pop into the likes of Greggs, M&S or Pret and can get a takeaway sandwich and drink for about £5.
Seeing as the top London hotels charge £75 plus per person for "Afternoon Tea" the meal served at "The English Rose" looked quite good value for money.

Brilliant you are in London. I am in London too and it is currently raining like mad. There are some Mongolian restaurants in Soho. Teas are great and there is controversary how you call scones - scounes or skons, and there is also contraversary whether you put the jam or cream first lol I say Skons and I put the jam first and cream afterwards. Welcome to London. I hope you visit the National History Museum which is great. There is a train strike on Saturday 1st October not sure if the Tube network is on strike too.
That's not high tea, it's afternoon tea. High tea is the cooked dinner served after you get home from work.
Ma man, you could start with fine loose tea from Harrod's and Fortnum & Mason. They ship anywhere. It's a good start.

If you don't have a reservation you can still sit at the bar, see the same view and eat the same food, but back in 2018 there were only 2 bar tables with a view, so the bar is very limited.
There were more seats at the bar without a view, if someone wanted, but...everyone was waiting for the 2 tables with a view.
