My favorite King book, along with Pet Sematary and The Dark Half. The Shining was good, IT was alright, and many of his shorts are really great. A Good Marriage and 1408 are really, really good. But Delores Claiborne is the only one I've read twice. Fantastic book.
Brilliant book. I thoroughly enjoyed the first person narrative;we experience everything said from Dolores and the reader ends up believing her.....why not ? She is honest. It has been quite a while since another King novel....non-horror or supernatural, made me want to read him more but in the style of "Dolores Claiborne" ; ".Misery" ; " Shawshank Redemption ". I detest horror stories and supernatural ones so: it is unfortunate that I do not know which ones to buy ! I am a voracious avid reader (from ancient classical to modern). A!though I must admit that modern books annoy me due to the lack of English voculbary and virtual ignorance of our literacy. Anyway, enjoyed your video. Thanks.
Nice review. I know some people love this, but this is not my favorite. I like how this connects with Gerald's game and it was interesting how it was told in one long story, but I wasn't crazy about it. It's mid to low for me.
I guess you could say an “ordinary” Maine woman is LIKE a “hillbilly.” But isn’t that actially a term for southern mountain folks? As for the relationship between Dolores and Vera - I read it as a reluctant but loyal relationship.
