Fantastic. I was backstage of The Ryman in the early 1980s. The Opry had moved out already to Opryland and the old building wasn't used for performance any longer so it wasn't well maintained or kept up. You could tour it in groups and look at photos of past members mounted on the wall backstage what have you buy it wasn't all that memorable apparently because that's all I recall about it. You did get to walk across the stage and look out at the old wooden pews out in front of you people had sat on years before during performance. At that time everyone thought it was relegated to the past and no one would ever play there again. Little did they know!

Great video! Enjoy “Living the dream”. That is a special place. It gives me goose bumps when I’ve went in there. Was it weird playing with your amp right in your face? It seems like you’d have to have the volume really low to keep from melting your face. I’m probably making too much of it.
I’m probably late to this observation but Tim has a striking resemblance to Allen Collins (Skynyrd). One of the greats and Tim is on his way as well. Congrats Lanco!

I’ve been playing with an oldies band since 2016. The lead singer and sax player insists that I put my amp just like the amp placement in this video. Till then, I had always placed my amp behind me or next to me. I was reluctant to do that. BTW….we don’t/ and I don’t use in-ears. Then it dawned on me that it makes way more sense to put the amp in front like this kicked back. It also does not require a lot of volume and keeps the stage volume manageable.
You are right, it's a very different sound! The Opry doesnt want people playing incredibly loud. I will say they actually had me turn my amp up at the end of sound check before our last song. You don't here it in any clips here but with it faced directly at my face like that it felt VERY loud even though I only had the amp on 3

I believe thats exactly why they do that! It feels wayyyy louder faced like that and the opry doesn't want people playing too loud on stage.

@ those little 22 watt deluxes are plenty loud. Lots of horse power in those 6L6 tubes.
