Had the shield in his chest been like it was in the promo pics, this would have been the perfect 12th scale Superman. It looks so much like the Byrne/Jurgens Supes era that adding those heads to a kitbashed Action 1000/Rebirth DC Multiverse Supes, makes for an absolutely iconic and ultimate Superman figure!
Once pointed out, can't unsee the black lines in the logo. But aside from that, I think this might be the best 6" Superman figure to date. If I hadn't blown my savings on the Mezco The Crow, I would've probably got this
Great review, as always. I'm really enjoying this figure. I'm surprised how big of an issue the emblem is for some folks. I'm not happy about it either, but this figure has so much going for it that I can overlook that one issue.
I don't collect MEZCO action figures in general, But man, This so classic Superman looks really great because to me he does give me Christopher Reeve Superman vibes from the films with the bright blue, red and yellow on his suit, Fantastic review on this comic Superman action figure Brad.
That t-shirt style "S" symbol really threw me off. I´m not a big one 1:12 collective collector, just some figs here and there, and I was really looking forward to this realease. I really loved the "S" without the black outline.....but then....so, I´m still on the fence with this one.

I've been waiting for your review. I've been re-watching your other Mezco reviews too. I ordered two of these. Overall, I am really pleased with the figure. I thought I would have a problem with the "S" shield, but I don't. I have larger "iron-on" shields without the black outline. I my use them at some point. I also took some "class photos" Since Mezco doesn't have a Martian Manhunter, I got a McFarlane classic version with a wired cloth cape. Now I have the "Original Seven". Great Video!
The new mezco Superman heads reminds me of how dan jurgens had drawn and written the character. The accessories are amazing and I would love to see other companies start taking notes. 5:17 yeah I think the big logo would have been better and be closer to what it was like in the concept figure photo, that was bit of a disappointment about the logo being changed.
This figure is a great example of "better in hand." For some reason photos do not seem to do this justice. Even photos I have taken make the figure look a bit underwhelming, but in hand I'm more than happy with it. I'm even okay with the smaller "S", but agree the original concept version would have put this Supes as possibly the greatest Supes figure.

Although I would trade The punchy effects if you would have came with one more head sculpt of him at least doing like an ice breath or like that. Other than that I really like this figure.
I do love that Kingdom Come Superman. Also, you're right about the Mezco heads, seems they've been getting bigger on some of the recent figures. The ones on the Nautilus crew and Constantine are absolutely HUGE. By comparison, the Mezco Thor and the KGBeast human head are pretty much perfect. I hope they get better scaling on the noggins in figures to come.
I've got more than a handful of DC and Marvel Mezcos. I think, all things considered, this Superman is the only one that can tie for best against the recent Wolverine with the Sentinel light up base. Dr. Fate is great. Wonder Wonder comes with a lot of stuff. The various Batmans, though often quite repetitive, are fantastic. But, Supes and Wolverine are the best in my eyes. At least until Doom comes out!
I canceled my pre-order because of the chest emblem. I’m satisfied with my Mafex Supermans with custom Tony Mei head sculpts. If I bought this I’d be tempted to replace the body suit with a True French Blue color and a larger no black outlined chest emblem as well as fixing the cape. If I was able to find this less than a hundred then I would and go through all of that to customize it.

There is One:12 Collective Wolverine steel box edition that has a lot of heads like this Superman, I think Wolvie has 8 heads. There were DC Collectibles animated series Batman figures with multiple heads, like Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn each having 7 to 8 interchangeable heads. This is the only Superman figure with that many interchangeable heads, though! I love this Superman figure and I have two copies, but I think Mafex Hush Superman is the BEST LOOKING version so far. This one has the best accessories for Superman EVER. The colorful cloth goods, the light up eyes and the heat vision options with bullet richocheting off his chest made this figure worth it.
Brad, this Superman is Mega cool. The head sculpts evoke comic book inspired glee. The accessories are plentiful and allow for some creative display. I get folks not digging the size of the chest emblem. Yeah it could match the promo picture but it would not surprise me if the license set the parameters on it's depiction. I also like the tin packaging. As he is a man of steel😉. The compatibility of the heads for swapping lines very insightful and bears notice. Great review ✌️
Imo, as I own the figure, I don’t think the s is as bad as most people are saying. It doesn’t draw me away or dislike the figure at all. The figure like brad said, has a lot more going for it than against. I mean, this figure comes with the best heads, color combo, hands, and even the Kryptonite case with all the colors. To me it’s a 10/10 figure and it’s better than anything most companies are making besides I’d say Mafex.

@@skyounkin so my first figure the cape on one side wasn’t sewn properly and would come out and only one eye lit up, and on the second copy the right shoulder would fully pop out any time I moved it and it was very hard to get back in
Would've been perfect if 1. The head wasn't a tad disproportional and 2. The suit had more texture. Some muscle definition would have been nice, he honestly looks like he's wearin pajamas. As a minor gripe as well, the punch effects would've been better if they resembled the sonic boom-like effect that can be seen whenever Cavill Supes punches. Other than that, great figure. The heat vision effects and the sheer value for money alone. 💯
I love mine. I got two. 😁 It’s not perfect, but pretty close. Agree with you about the tin. Why Lopez? Don’t get wrong, I love Lopez, but Byrne’s Art would’ve been the way to go. And yes, the S should’ve been bigger, but other than that, I’m completely satisfied.
Mezco just had to drop the ball at the easiest part of the figure, the S symbol in his chest, what they show in the promotional photo was perfect, it is a shame.
Gong and Popmart is releasing a Kingdom Come Superman that I think looks better than this Mezco one. Sure it has a lot less accessories, just an angry head and 2 extra pairs of hands, but it's also about $100 cheaper than what you paid for this fig. ($73 no tax and shipping vs $170 after tax and shipping).

The Crow is so worth it though. You can recreate just about anything from the film, plus whatever you come up with.

I don't normally collect Mezco's One:12 line due to price, but man is this a great looking Superman figure.
Someone should make S stickers that match the original advertised S emblem.

I'm annoyed that the cape on mine is not tucked into the neckline and they just stitched it on the outside of the collar.

I noticed that the belt is misaligned, it looks likes it raises up on the hips any fix suggestion?
Is it possible to take off the peg on the head and put in on other mezco head for kitbash purpose?

I love this figure but I’ve had to return it twice due to many defects lol. Hoping the third one when that comes in is better

The Captain Action Superman set in the ‘60’s came with a Phantom Zone Projector. Def not as snazzy as this one.
Great head sculpts, but softgoods look horrible. You can’t unsee the stitches around the suit and cape.
